So I like to do this for every big sports league as you can see, or sporting event like the Euro Cup. I havent been very succesful but I find it fun. Especially for baseball. I cheered for the Cubs all season because I personally do not have a Major League baseball team in my city like some of you lucky people do.
Boston Red Sox +470 - Always an option, but the value just isnt there.
Cubs +450 - Also always an option, and when I started looking at this I was gonna go with this team again. But the odds are horrible now. I think I got them a +800 last year and thats what I was hoping for again. Im not too sure how Milton Bradley and Haren have apparently made this team so much better, but I guess they have. Well I guess no one really say Dempster playing as well as he did last year
Tigers +1900 - I considered this team an option because the offense is there. They also have a decent pitching staff and even have some players they could probably trade away for that "last peice"
Dodgers +1500 - Weak division is really why they made the playoffs last year. Manny had something to do with it, but this division is very tough to predict. They really have no offense other then Manny but I could see the younger players start to develop
Mets +470 - Seem to blow it every year and dont like the value
Yankee's +470 - No value and think they wont be as good as expected
Pirates -
My Pick : The Tigers +1900
Of course I think the Yanks, the Red sox...etc...probably have a better chance at winning the world series. But for me this really isnt just about who has the best chance but the value also matters. The season is half a year long, and if I get a payout out of it, then I would like for it to be something pretty rewarding. The Tigers had a ton of hype coming into last season and started out something to the tune of 0-6. That wont happen this year. My prime concern would be injuries, but I think the division is for the taking. Cleveland seems to only make runs in September and they are usually too late and too far out of it, im not too sure about their health either. The Twins will be competitive but I believe that the White Sox will not be as good this year. The team is getting old. I think the Tigers are the best team in the division. They obviously have the offense, and I think they have the pitching because they have players in the bullpen, even if their is an injury that can come in and take over a spot in the starting rotation.
