LAA going for it, gotta think they have at least some insight into thinking it's very possible that Ohtani will stay for them to go all in and not get anything for him at this point

“Talent” is overrated. Lindor is not a 300 million dollar man. Sherzer and JV both washed or they’d still be in LAD or HOU - 2 winning franchises that wouldn’t have let them walk.

Alonso is a .200 power hitter.

What else do they have?

I see 5-6 lineup spots of nobodies.

Horrible GM’ing.
 
If Yankees add anything decent at deadline, and Judge returns this weekend, 28-1 has value as you’ll get good value to play against them if they make the dance. If they can add Bellinger that lineup becomes legit with Judge back.

Just came back from 2 games at Wrigley where I saw 2 Belly Bombs in the bleachers. He's a massive fan favorite right now... Cubs could build around him. They've won 6 in a row and 4 games back of the wild card. Although the return may be too good to pass up. We'll see.

Can't imagine trying to GM that shit when you'll always be compared to the Yanks. Always.

Went to g1 when the Royals beat them and didn't think too much of it but stayed by the stadium and watched g2 at the hotel bar. Mutts fans all over. It's amazing how optimistic they are, not sure where it comes from. A Bill Buckner error? RIP

What a get at 12 million. Coming off injuries and being a lefty. Lefties with the shift should have been being scooped up by teams last few years. Look at Freeman rake, Belly’s resurgence, etc.
 
Serious buzz in So Cal that the Dodgers are really close to landing Arenado. Dodgers have plenty of young arms to make the deal happen. As a Dodgers fan I hope they do not include Bobby Miller. If Im the Cards that is the guy that I hold out for. The deal will probably include Muncy or Taylor as well.

Yup, he is clearly happy in Chicago right now. They should keep him. I loved the guy in LA, I wish he could have worked out his issues but he clearly needed a fresh start elsewhere. I think honestly he is thriving because they are not in a pennant chase. Seemed like the constant pressure to win it all in LA hurt him.

This year, next year....as soon as they committed themselves to Manny Machado I knew it was not going to work. That dude is cancer. Ive seen it up close.

Just proof that you can not buy a team. the clubhouse is just as important as the product on the field.
