mayweather vs pacquiao winner

There's some massive, massive butthurt over this fight. Mayweather did what a few of us here have been saying he'd do, for years. He completely nullified Pacquiao's offense, and lead him around the ring, setting traps.

Spare me the shoulder bullshit. Declare it before the fight. They were talking the night before the fight about how they're gonna knock Mayweather out.

Starts feeling shoulder pain in round 3.....

....has his best 2 rounds in 4 and 6. LOL.

Anyway, Vegas was ridiculous. I didn't get to go to the actual fight, but had great seats to the weigh-in and Closed Circuit was pretty damn cool, too.

I saw a few fighters at the MGM in passing, but I don't even attempt to get pics and shit unless I'm right next to them. I don't really get star struck enough to want to fight those crazy ass crowds for picture with Danny Garcia, haha.

Not sure what offshore odds were, but Mayweather by decision ended up at -125 at MGM. At least, that's the last I saw.

Lomachenko looked good. Looking forward to seeing him again. He's really improving.

Santa Cruz....meh. Fucking fight someone already.

That wasn't a fight. It was more a spirited run around the ring. Pound-for-pound best fighter, my ass. He's a pussy.

I'm really not butt-hurt about the fight, you guys told me what to expect and I bet Mayweather. I'm more butt-hurt about boxing snobs pretending to appreciate it. I love the written word, but I'm not going to pretend to like Shakespearean sonnets.

Twink, the problem with your argument is that people have eyes. Just because the previous 47 fights were similar doesn't dismiss the fact that the 48th fight sucked moose cock.

quit acting high and mighty Twinkie .. We know you love boxing. A lot of people didn't enjoy the fight, I'm tired of so called "boxing experts" telling us we just don't get it.. You guys sound like soccer fanatic

you don't have to like the fight...pretty clear

"Floyd sucks" "Floyd is a pussy" "Floyd is a dancer"

is dumb sorry

the second problem is people having some expectation of Hagler-Hearns, etc...

the only expectation would be you hate Mayweather and really thought Paq was gonna kick his ass...it didn't happen, so many seem disappointed

otherwise the fight went as most thought it would go.....

Did you guys see the stat that Mayweather has fought like a million more rounds than Rocky Marciano en route to 48-0? I wonder if that's because all his "fights" go 12 and he never actually fights.

twink, I know you like the guy, he's a mongoose. But that fight sucked, even by his boring standard.

That wasn't a fight. It was more a spirited run around the ring. Pound-for-pound best fighter, my ass. He's a pussy.

Way to make yourself sound stupid.

For crying out loud, if all he did was "run around the ring" he'd have been beaten a dozen times by now.

The fact is, you have no fucking idea what you're watching.

If you guys want people to talk to you with respect, then try bringing a respectful conversation.

Anyone expecting a Mayweather fight to turn out like Gatti/Ward, deserved to have their money taken.

Mayweather is getting a lot of blame for this fight not being exciting. But he out landed Pacquiao while throwing more punches. He held too much in my opinion, also. But if you're gonna be fucking babies about it, then make sure you cry about both sides. When Mayweather stood in front of Pacquiao with his chin out, hands down, trying to lure him in, Pacquiao stood there lost. He knew he'd be countered.

It's a classic case of everyone wanting to see a guy lose, then being a baby about it when he doesn't.

I wanted Mayweather to win, just wanted to see a bruise or something.

Or wanting to see him win......and still being a baby about it. Whichever.

Again, if he were such a pussy, and such a simple fighter, someone would have figured him out by now.

it is pretty much this

Look, if you want the respect of 99.99% of people, exempting jab, twink, gator, and Ernest Hemingway, you have to engage in the fight.

I'm really not butt-hurt about the fight, you guys told me what to expect and I bet Mayweather. I'm more butt-hurt about boxing snobs pretending to appreciate it. I love the written word, but I'm not going to pretend to like Shakespearean sonnets.

Well you seem to like a good pitcher's duel so you already like something far more boring than both this fight and a solid sonnet

An October pitchers duel is pretty intense. Most of the world agrees. No one's tuning into the World Series and hoping for a softball game.

"boxing snobs pretending to enjoy"

- so, I guess the ACTUAL case you're making, is that if WE don't agree with YOU, then we're lying about enjoying it?

Well you basically saw a pitcher's duel on Saturday night. One guy pitched a 1 hit shutout. The other one scattered 8 hits, gave up an early run but his team never threatened to score

Yes. I'm going with that. I can't comprehend actual enjoyment of that fight.

And if the pitcher was supposed to have beaten the batter bloody with his fists, I'd have been disappointed.

You don't have to "beat your opponent bloody" to win a boxing match, so to insinuate that's what he was "supposed" to do is silly.

"Hit and don't get hit" - that's what every boxer in the world wishes that they were the best at.

I'm not disputing he won the fight, jab. I'm simply saying it was boring. I think the people coming off as the most butt-hurt are the ones propping that farce up as entertaining. Tom Brady almost fell asleep in his chair watching that thing.

I understand that it wasn't the most offensively exciting fight. Most people never thought it would be.

But if you appreciate Mayweather's ability to take a fighter's offense away from him, then you can see how other people enjoyed the fight. I knew it was highly unlikely that it would be a good fight for the casual fan.

Lol

In brady's defense he started the day at the derby.. He was drunk

And I'm not arguing that you thought it was boring. I'm just saying I'm a little surprised that matters to you because you clearly have the capability to appreciate very boring events

and just say it is boring

do not say May sucks, ect....

that was my only issue.....as the others I am sure

Boxing is unique in that it's the one sport that promotes itself as a box office draw (possibly MMA but boxing much more so)

It's the ultimate cross section of sport and show business

Not really fair to compare it to any other "game" because they've chosen to promote it as an event and I'm fine with that, you just have to take the ton of bad that comes with the good if you want to remain relevant, which I'm not sure some of you even care about.

not sure i get the point

sentence 1 would be yes....and MMA way more

2nd not sure what you mean

3rd, if you mean people that do not watch the sport do so twice a year and then comment ...then yes. but not sure you meant that.

You were comparing it to a 1-0 baseball game earlier

That comparison is irrelevant

By the way I've never seen an MMA event promoted to the tune of $400 million plus, so no, not moreso

Mayweather Interview from today. Said he would be Pacquaio on his Undercard hahahaha

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/embed/80978" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's not a good look from Pacquiao's team, using this shoulder injury as an excuse. Arum openly admits that the injury is from 2008. Suddenly after getting undressed by Mayweather (in a fight where Pacquiao showed NO signs of an injury, throwing the right plenty of times), it's time to have surgery. Convenient.

There's no need for a rematch.

Thought Adam over at http://www.saturdaynightboxing.com/ said it best with his May / Pac opinions. I am in complete agreement.

I will say Pacquiao continuing to claim he still has the killer instinct that made him all-time great was the biggest con-job of this event. The "reformed" Pacquiao is a shell of the fighter I saw destroy Cotto 5.5 years ago. Hope he enjoyed the easy payday. Maybe he can settle his 20+ million dollar tax obligation to the IRS now.
