Hi wade.

Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot I can do from my phone without access to my notes, but I'll give it a whirl...

Wigan: 1) Wigan are pretty much in must win mode and, because of goal differential, it would be in their best interest to try and win by more than one goal as well, so I fully expect them to push forward in this one and 2) the Wigan offense at home and the Swansea defense on the road lends itself to a game with multiple chances to score - that doesn't necessarily mean there will be goals but, obviously, you stand a better chance than not.

Swansea: 1) Swansea haven't scored a goal in over three games and, yeah, I know, that sounds bad but, as a general rule, half decent offensive teams don't go that long without scoring at least one goal, especially when you're going up against a team like Wigan that has one of the worst goal records and defensive efficiencies at home in the EPL. And yes, I know, Michu is out, but Michu being in hasn't stopped the offense from sliding - this just means guys like Pablo Hernandez and Jonathan de Guzman get a chance to step up in his absence.

Also, in keeping with the new approach I've been taking (or at least trying to), both Wigan and Swansea average about 13-14 chances a game on both offense and defense, so seeing as how the EPL averages about 1 goal per every 8 scoring opportunities, there should be plenty of chances to go around, especially if Swansea manage to score first (the first game at Liberty had about 28 from what I remember, so no reason this one should be any different).

Anyways, as you may have noticed by now, my games have an annoying tendency to land on '2', so there's a good chance this one might share the same unfortunate fate. And, if you're unaware, a) someone down 20 plus units on the calendar year might not be the best person to tail, so look around to see what others have to say before making a decision, b) just because I'm going large is no guarantee of anything (if you'd tailed me in February when I was shooting from the hip, I would've sent you to the poor house, so...) and c) obviously desperate times call for desperate measures, so launching on games I think stand a better than average chance of producing multiple goals is about the only way I'm making it back to even.

Now watch this end a scoreless draw... *LOL*

*Another situation where a half decent offensive team (ie. AMG) hasn't scored in over three games but, as this is one of those wild and wacky Cup games, it might not be quite as straightforward. Stats from the state championships suggest there should be at least two goals in this one (Avai 16-4 O/U 1.5, conceded in 9 of their last 10; AMG 9-2 O/U 1.5, conceded in 8 of their last 10) so there's that. As for a third, well... At least it'll give me something to root for before going to bed.

First game at Olympic Stadium in March produced 30 shots, but only 1 goal - can't really see that happening again, especially since all three games last season flew over. Plus, the Red Bulls were missing both Thierry Henry and Tim Cahill in that one, so that changes things a lot. Still, Wednesday's tend to produce a lot of strange results in MLS from what I remember, so we'll see how it goes.

Nice, nothing like a couple of late ones to get that over.

Maybe I'm wrong , but I feel like Henry could still be playing for a high level team, or maybe the mls is just that bad.

Thanks Pyppurs (in a perfect world, people would only tail me when I win but, alas, somehow I doubt that's the case), CD (as it was a missed PK at the end away from being a draw, tell Colin I think I at least deserve some credit for that), braves (the only thing that separates MLS from most other leagues is the lack of a dominant team and/or teams, otherwise most people wouldn't be so quick to rush to judgment).
