Lions ML MNF

I guess the good thing here is MCDC won't rest guys if the Vikings win. I know some coaches would do that (since week 18 would be for all the marbles).

These lions like revenge tour stuff.

Remember that game in Dallas?

Yepppp.

Remember MNF vs Seattle?

Yepppp.

This one is personal (another reason why he won't rest guys).

The beauty of all this -- a GB win Sunday afternoon makes MNF a full attempt at clinching the division and #1 seed.

Bingo. Bongo. Bango. Truly how I feel as well. Literally to a T.

9ers would be stupid to even try to win this game. They could field half an all pro roster with the guys who won’t be playing. Kyle is co-GM so walking Purdy out there behind replacement OL and no RBs seems like a negotiating tactic to reign him in closer to 45 million vs 65.

I can’t see how this team wins. The books for some reason keep lining them like a team that’s not missing multiple elite players at every level.

Rain would make this a home equity type play. Purdy and the rag tag OL can’t handle the rain for whatever reason.

We saw how dominant the 9ers defense was once again with Greenlaw back. That lasted 30 mins and he’s been hurt since. He’s not playing. Warner has a broken ankle he’s been playing through.

Only way 9ers win is if Bosa has a 4-5 sack type game and Debo plays out of his mind. Lions defense is mush now with all the injuries but the 9ers don’t need this game. Would be smart to have Purdy get sacked 7 times and get a top 10 pick.

Glad to see you agree spek. I really think you all should make a run for Aaron Rodgers. Just makes sense with the window left for Niners.

Why would this game be personal and why wouldn't Det rest players if that opportunity arises since they're so injured.

can you elaborate on this for me
If I understand everything correctly, the 2 games are correlated in that if GB beats MIN today, then DET can seal up the division by beating the 9ers.

If GB loses then the Lions can only win the division by winning the head to head with Minnesota next week and Monday's game vs the 9ers becomes meaningless.

That being said, others have made the point that Detroit will still be motivated to beat the 9ers even if the game becomes meaningless as thats not the way Campbell rolls and I tend to agree.

Right - I get that, but why would books not allow that parlay. I mean both teams GB/Det still have to win - Minny isnt laying down

Oh sorry I misunderstood.

Any time you have a parlay where the last leg is heavily influenced by the first leg its correlated. You could wait until GB wins to bet Detroit but you can be sure that the Lions won't be available at -180 if that happens. By parlaying it now, you are essentially getting ahead of the number. That's why Pinny won't allow it. Many other books will though.

I'm sure there's a better way to explain this mathematically but I'm not the guy for that.

Bingo.

Add in last year's NFC ship on the same field...

Could see a Dallas type game here and lions will be resting shortly after HT anyways.

Biggest pre game regular season bet in my career.

No live bets in this one, this is the only bet.

If you like it, follow with me.

If you don't, good luck.

Lions ML -180

50/27.7

Forecast looks good. No wind. No rain.

Happy Holidays.
If you feel so strongly why not a -110 bet with the spread? GL with your bet today. I hope you bring it home.

If a 1 game, revenge game from last season is more important than maybe trying to get a little more healthy than that coach doesn't have the season's top priority in mind. Just my opinion.
Minnesota loses today that Detroit game wont mean a thing to them. What did Campbell do last year if anything when it came to clinching?

Exactly. If that happens they'd have 3 meaningless weeks to rest up the most injured team and not risk any more injuries that they can't afford. The smart thing to do if your end goal is a bowl.

I don’t see them not giving a F for 3 straight weeks. Would be a month betweeen playing meaningful football. Think a rematch to whoop on the 9ers (and he’s said he wants to do so) is a good test before shutting it down for a couple of weeks.

Thanks l2ka. This is how I've always bet. Been burned too many times buying points, it's stressful enough having the ml with the amount i have on it. Don't want to worry about covering by 1 in the event it goes to overtime or any other reason.. Don't want a push either. Just focusing on winning.

Very true as have I, esp for large money. It's sickening losing by a half or a point or two.

ML is def the way to bet this with the line at 3.5

Not saying he wouldn’t. Just saying Detroit has the bye locked in if Vikes lose. Campbell played all his starters in its entirety last year in week 18. I expect he’s gunning for a big night despite not needing the game and getting light on depth. It’s Dan Campbell.

So the Eagles can't win out and get the bye if Detroit loses the next two games? I'm lost on this stuff.

In other words, if the Eagles beat Dallas right now, how have the Lions clinched the bye regardless of the game tonight?
