Ugh sorry dude can you please tell me how you're not pissed like I would be lol
If you get worked up over every bet then you'll have a heart attack within 10 years haha. The ball bounces funny ways but if you look at things statistically they all shake out. Not a second after I typed that MiaOH intercepted for a pick 6 to make the first half total go over for what was probably a sure loser.

Lmao nice hit! :)

So what's going to happen in Cola on Saturday?
First off, to my fellow SC brotha and to all the brahs here at CTG Happy Thanksgiving. BOL this week MW I am hoping for an exciting game. Some time in the last few years I lost my white hot hate for anything Clemson and grew up. About the only thing Clemson that I still hate is Dabo but that is him as a person. I have learned to respect him as a coach. Vendebles is great and probably a large portion of that success. The rivalry is still there and I enjoy the game but I am no longer anti Clemson at every turn. Not going to act like I wasn't enjoying seeing Syracuse gash Clemson, but I am sure Clemson fans were enjoying seeing SC flounder against Kentucky, again. Both sides obviously have their fair share of ignorant rednecks that tend to say something so idiotic that rekindles the white hot hate but all in all I am a fan of the State at this point.

As for the game, for someone that has something like a 16-3 record betting SC games I honestly have no idea what to expect. I will talk out the details and let everyone decide for themselves how they want to play it.

In terms of advantages Clemson has the advantage on almost all sides of the ball except maybe special teams SC may slightly have the edge. And then there is the home field.
https://twitter.com/gamecockfb/status/933103997178724352
Williams Brice will be rocking for a 7:30 game and it will need to be as SC will have to win the turnover battle to have a shot in the game. Clemson has Miami on deck so maybe they are slightly looking ahead but I doubt Dabo would let them come out flat because he remembers the 37-33 game a couple of years ago at SC when we had a MUCH worse team. This is probably the best overall team that SC has fielded since towards the back end of the Spurrier era.

Game line of 14 and 46 puts approximate TT at 30-16. No team this season has scored 30 on SC, will Clemson? I know that if anyone has read this thread this season they are probably tired of hearing me comment about Roper but he is once again the X factor of the game. What type of game we call will ultimately determine how the remainder of the game plays out.

If SC does their typically bad early downs and is stuck with third and long all day the score is going to get very ugly. If SC has some success and can limit it to third and 3 or 4 then I think some drives could be sustained thus leading to a competitive game all day. Bentley has bailed this team out so many times it is a joke. TD drives in vandy Florida and uga game come down to Bentley making plays on third and long.

Clemson boasts pretty good offensive numbers with about 6ypp and balanced attack. Some of the competition is sub par and may play into that 6ypp with Kent St, Citadel that they smacked last week, and some of the ACC not being in its previous strength in FSU and Louisville. Clemson road games this season include @Lou 47-21, @VT 31-17, @cuse lost 24-27, @NCSt 38-31. A little closer than it should have been against NCSt and FSU. Clemson has proven they can be passed on but that will depend on the OL holding up enough th and a run game on any level getting going. Gamecock defense matches up decently but they will need to get some breaks from the offense to be able to keep it up.

Obviously Gamecocks by the measures of handicappers are not a 8-3 team but that does not come into play in a two TD dog scenario, save that logic for bowl season when we are all betting against SC.

I have taken the +14 for Gamecocks and still considering other bets. SC TT is something I considered but not sure if it is worth messing with as the variance in this game is probably rather high. Would love to hear thoughts anyone else may have.

I have a similar feeling as earlier in the season with Clemson, they just don't always play a great 4 quarter game or put teams away. Got up 17-0 vs FSU, but let them come back 17-14 before some late-game short field possessions allowed Clemson to win by 3 scores again. NCSt outgained them by 76 yards and led most of the first half, only trailed by 3 at one points in the 3rd and 4th and we know about their final shot at the end. Bad weather vs GT, did dominate them, but only scored 3 pts in the second half? Syracuse gained 440 yards on them. Bryant doesn't play D.

You say closer than it should've been vs NCSt and FSU, but why was it closer than it should've been? Why couldn't Clemson keep their foot down on FSU? Why couldn't they pull away from NCSt?

Clemson is good team, but I'm not scared. Carolina can win this game.

I say closer than it should have been because as you said they did not finish the games out but through the bulk of some of these games they were winning. I probably misspoke in terms of NCSt because as you pointed out they were in that game the whole way through and were even leading for some of it.

Clemson did not finish games out against a lot of teams this season including wake on top of the ones you outlined.

I grew up in Clemson. The USC thing was always important but an abstraction. There were far more Georgia fans than USC fans in my orbit. Went to college at Brown, went to law school at UGA, have been in Texas since law school (25 years). There was never anyone to hate. Except Georgia fans, after i got to law school.

In the case of FSU, probably because 3 of the top 4 corners were out with injuries, one of which was intentionally and illegally inflicted by an FSU player in that game, apparently for the purpose of putting him out of the game given the injury situation at that position (he was ejected and very, very proud of what he had accomplished). FSU got a 60-yard TD on a flea-flicker later -- BFD,

Clemson has Miami on deck so maybe they are slightly looking ahead . . . .
Keep in mind that Clemson beat Miami 58-0 last time they played (2015). The Tigers might be more concerned about the Gamecocks.

Don't know anything about him but he sure loves twitter.
Well, thank you, K, for the kind greeting.

I was born in NC but grew up in Columbia and I then went to USC for business school so there were plenty of Clemson fans in my orbit haha. But we can surely band together for hate of UGA.

Wasn't that also Goldens last year when he got fired? I think it is pretty evident on the field this is a different Miami team than the one Clemson pummeled in 2015.

GL, nice to get that +14 before they moved it...likely will buy it myself. Expecting a tight game there.

That was the game that Golden fired. That Miami team quit in that game. This year's team is better, but that lopsided score was an anomaly to begin with. Do the players realize that?

Playing into 58-0 is never a favorable situation. The ACCCG could be very interesting.

Yes, fair point on the players mindsets. Hard to figure the mindset of a college player but yea that could very well be the case

GL my brotha
Thanks vk you too sir. Should be an exciting day of football. This weekend is looking to play out to be the best week of the season. Generally it is up there in terms of good football weekends but this season has been rather lack luster at times but so far this week it has been riveting to watch. That USF game had me on the edge of my seat last night.

Sorry for the sloppy thread this week guys but trying to move all that crap up on mobile is just not worth it.

More random SC thoughts:

If anyone cares to get some chicken skin
https://twitter.com/GamecockFB/status/934409666339196930?s=17

MW and I went back and forth above about motivation and the rivalry. I would say Clemson does have some good bulletin board material with some of these comments but I would think SC does as well. SC got EMBARASSED last year and had to hear about that shit all year long. That will likely not be forgotten. Let's go with coaches, Muschamp got embarassed in is opening game to the rivalry. The mind will be willing, is the body strong enough?

By many capping measures the Gamecocks are not a 8-3 team. Honestly the turnover games are not what bothers me as much because there is enough evidence to say that maybe that is the identity of the SC defense. The DL has been a lot stronger than expected and Skai has been an Allstar this year at LB. the games that DO bother me are Tenn, Vandy, Florida where the inconsistency shines through and especially the fact that all three of those teams had the ball in their hand to tie/win the game.

For today an obvious concern is the SC run game. Ranked #80 in the country in average of 4.08 but let's look at the SC run stats since Dowdle went out and Roper figured out that a speedy back like AJ Turner should be used in space not trying to bang up the middle.
Stats listed are attempts/gain/avg
Wofford- team 38/195/5.1 Turner 11/67/6.5 Tyson 8/58/7.3 kin law 4/47/11.8
Florida- team 47/270/4.7 Turner 12/136/6.2 Denson 13/61/4.7
UGA- team 17/43/2.5 Turner 8/35/4.4
Vandy- team 37/212/5.7 Turner 15/121/8.1 Bentley 6/47/7.8 Denson 4/25/6.3

The running game is obviously improved but will be facing a front more like the UGA situation. Run was abandoned in that game with how it played out. I would personally like to see Bentley on some more read option keepers because he has actually been very effective when used this way. AJ Turner has obviously stepped up ALOT seen above in the stats.

Gameday baby! Maybe more random thoughts later

I will likely be on Clemson TT U30. I'll pay to see the first team this season score 30 on us, especially on the road.

Really sad I missed the Memphis TT and Michigan TT while I was typing that rant haha oh well not worth crying over spilt milk
