Hulu's NFL 2017 Ranting and Raving

Firing a warning shot for next week. I'm not sure if this game ever gets to a flat 3 so I want to get a unit down at this number. If I'm wrong, I'll add.

1* Miami +3 -112

2* LA Rams +7 -112

Wished I had been able to get the 8 or 7.5 but this will have to do as it seems like it may be headed under 7. If it gets back to 7.5, which it may well considering how much the public loves the Cowboys, I will add.

eta, getting a second unit on this now as I really don't see it coming back up.

Thoughts on Jags/Jets?

Not a lot for me to like in that game. I think the Jags probably win it as I can't see the Jets having a win streak at all but I a 3.5 point road fav is a dangerous thing. Its a stay-away game for me.

BOL to your boys though. From someone who has watched his own fav team through decades of futility, I would love to see them competitive again for their fans.

I had a long train ride yesterday and was able to get most of my NFL work done for the week. But I try to do as little on my phone as possible as its a frustrating experience. So some of these lines are a tad stale, I haven't even checked this morning I've been so busy. I hope the local record police will exercise some leniency.

Sick calls on Rams and Jets :benchpress::biggestfan:

Thanks vc. After saying all week that it was a stay-away game for me, once I saw the 4 I had to get it. I really didn't expect them to win SU though.

My gut tells me your Jags have some value at PIT next week but I haven't fully capped it yet.

1* Kansas City -6.5 -112

Didn't expect a reasonably priced 6.5 to pop on this game but I think its a good value to get under the 7 at -112.

Early play for week 5...

1.5* SEA / LAR over 47 -107

Books still haven't caught up to the Rams offense and I think Seattle is able to gash them for their points too. I think this hits 49 by kickoff easy. Of course, I'm wrong roughly 45% of the time.

1.5* JAX / PIT under 43.5 -107

The broad strokes is I think Pit can contain Fournette and limit Bortles and Ben & co have some of their own offensive problems. While they do better at home, I think they won't have to do a lot to overcome the Jaguars offense.

1* BAL / OAK under 40 -107

Where is the offense coming from here? This game may struggle to hit 35.

1* Cleveland pk -106

Was hoping to get this down to a pk and here we are. I would even consider adding ML if it got above +115 or so. The Browns are horrid and Kizer is likely be the worst QB in the league but the as Benny Hill used to say 'even a broken clock is right twice a day' and once or twice this season, the Brownies will put up an effort. I think this is probably one of the few, if not the only, place to back the Browns this season. Jets are in a terrible spot after 2 straight home wins that were not really that impressive.

gl hulu...lean Indy too. I had to scratch the Browns despite it being a good spot for them. I just can't back a team of that caliber, but thats the side to be on

Thanks Tito. Yeah its hard to bet such bad teams. Instead of holding my nose each week I should just buy one of those clips.

1* LA Rams -1 -109

1.5* Teaser Pittsburgh -1 / Houston +7

One further play I'm looking at this week but that's probably about it.

I hear Mike Pence found a convenient excuse to leave this shit show. Probably finishes 12-9

1.5* Cleveland +10 -115 ...lord help me but they should've won against the Jets and Hogan is a huge upgrade over Kizer.

Would like to hear your thoughts bout saints if you have a minute.

Its probably my weakest play of the group but I still like it. Its more a fade of Detroit than anything. A lot of people are very high on them and I was too, thinking they had really stepped it up to another level this season but their poor performance vs the Panthers last week made me take another look. None of thei games are all that impressive.

-They barely beat Zona who we now know are terrible.
-They beat up on Eli and the Giants with receiver issues
-They lost at home to Atlanta when Ryan threw 3 picks incl a pick-6
-Barely beat a Case Keenum lead vikings team
-Lost at home to a mediocre Cam and the Panthers.

I don't see an impressive outing there anywhere. Their defence is mediocre and now Stafford is beat up with a couple sore spots. Statistically, they aren't any more impressive.

Now you could say the Saints aren't that impressive either with 2 wins over Cam who couldn't hit the side of a barn and over the Dolphins in the mother of all bad travel situations and that's why I kept it to one unit. But I think the Saints can win this one by 6 or more.

Also, points on a side are worth less, the higher the total is. So I likely wouldn't have taken a -4.5 if this total was 42 but at 50/51, its not as big a deal.

Just my thoughts but I lose around 45% of the time. :)

Right on appreciate it, I lean lions but prob my weakest lean so pretty happy to be talked off them. Certainly agree points less valuable the higher the total but lions have a habit of playing close games at high numbers so not sure in this case..

Stafford being banged up is my biggest issue/concern w playing them as his mobility a underrated part of his game imo as he tends to pick up some key 3rd downs with his legs when he playing well.

Thanks for thoughts,, gl this week.

You also bud.

Its true that although you don't think of Stafford as a running QB, he is excellent at moving the pocket and sliding out to buy time and complete passes. He does it so effortlessly, you barely even notice unless youre watching for it.

Detroit's penchant for 2H comebacks is also a concern but less so on the road IMO.

Most road games I'd agree again, in a dome still think that has to be a concern.. I do think saints defense has improved from last year and the early struggles were more a outlier than what they capable of, hard to say how much as you mentioned they caught cam when he was really struggling and well phins offense is mindboggling bad thus far. How good they truly are lies somewhere in between those 1st couple bad games and the last few very good. Dumping ap will probably be good for them as well as think he was more a distraction than anything helpful as he was never a good fit.,
