Completely anecdotal, no stats or links, but I agree that roof should be open for a knuckleballer. If unpredictable movement is his friend, why not add some weather. I always felt like Wakefield was at his best outdoors. Especially when hot and muggy.

'97's the one that still feels like I got kicked in the nuts as I was writing this. '94 was a fucking great offense. Bad Al Belle hit 50 bombs and 50 doubles in 144 games that season.

Thought 95 was better than 97 team. Hershiser and Dennis Martinez were solid vets. 97 had to depend on young Colon and Jarrett Wright in the rotation.

'97 was just closer. '95 had to contend with the Glavine-Maddux-Eric Gregg Bermuda Triangle of strike zones, where unhittable pitches were called strikes and then died a peaceful death.
