Hello Friends, 2026 Masters Week In Round

I think for Rory to shoot Even par on this course he would have to play like any of us today.

I really feels that way. He shoots it into the woods 70 yards from the center of the fairway and he’s blasting a low wood 200 yards to the front of the green with no obstacles and surface issues.

Well, yes, when one guy is lapping the field.

A lot of Eagles though and a lot of doubles!

Holy variance.

We need something wild to happen today -- really need an E par round from Rory.

That's exactly what I want , or for him to completely shit the bed like he often used to on Sundays .

Then again , I know every little about the game , so my opinion isn't worth much if at all.

This isn't anything new --

The guy said he just wanted to fish, hang out with friends and relax.

Too bad though for the sport as he was a helluva talent that was breaking out.

This week has been pretty damning for the LIV guys so far. The first year of LIV, they had a tournament state-side in the week or two before the Masters, so they at least had some competitive reps in a reasonable time zone, and they had multiple players play well. This year, they last played in Singapore or something 3-4 weeks ago. The rust is showing

Hatton has been terrible all year so at least he's finding some comfort at ANGC.

But yeah, not good overall...

Peter North said it incredibly well yesterday

This course, with Rory's ball shape off the tee he's hitting a wedge into greens that a lot of guys are hitting 7/8 irons, and made it a point that it's a half stroke difference on those holes.

Fwiw I'd bet Rory in a ladder under round score whatever today. Not sure why it would change.

The books are hoping with the heat coming in and the late start that Rory will struggle to putt. It should be like an ice rink for him later today but it won’t matter because he’s basically chipping in after every drive.

Peter North lol I’m 💀

Bingo.

Rory has exactly ZERO fairways on the par 5s this week.

0-8

He's -12.

Fugggg
Not a golfer but tells me there is no penalty for hitting into the rough. As a very casual fan the only major I watch is US Open. They keep saying roll back the technology to make courses harder. Seems to me make the penalty for inaccuracy MUCH stiffer

Yeah that's nothing new at Augusta. Rough is not the penalty.

You have to know where to miss at ANGC. That's the key.

Then, limit 3 putts as much as possible.

Just woke up so I'm sure he's teed off by now but got a text from the Score (used to be ESPNBet) pumping Rory 6+ birdies or better to +200

I don't know where to begin but I don't care if an actual bird was only +200 for that number why I'd bet it

If you think that hits there are a lot of other less expensive options

Just woke up for this and said "self, you're waking up for the last time today"

Self doesn't remotely know what's coming

One of the purest putters of this generation in my opinion…

I get it though, to be the best you have to put in a ton of work to try and compete at the highest level. That’s not how he wants to live his life, I can respect that.

Remember we're now 4 decades into this

There's a reason a Jordan and a Tiger don't come along every bunch of years

Comparing these golfers (including Scottie) to a legend is nothing more than begging for greatness

We actually experienced it on the golf course as younger idiots

Rory keeps sending the ball into the crowd and it’s sitting on a perfect lie. Better than the fairways I play on.
Yeah that's Augusta. They don't grow the rough out for the tournament.

Their defense is the greens, pin placements and course knowledge.

Ready for them to move on from this

Just not how we're entertained anymore

San Antonio was more entertaining

This is a novelty, like the Pac-10 and the Big-10 playing in the Rose Bowl

Sport and money have outgrown this tournament

Tradition ain't cool anymore bro. For 25 years basically. Sorry.

You know I'm not playing this game with ya...

But I'll bite one...

The last 25 years

Tiger slam

Phil 04

Phil 2010

Charl incredible finish

Rose Garcia Playoff, another breakthrough!

Tiger 2019

Scottie 2x

The Deki moment.

Rory 2025

Yeah, that's just the first 10 thoughts... This delivers.

Yet none are memorable (to me)

Last memorable finish was Tiger/DiMarco playoff

I seriously remember none of what you mentioned. Tiger winning was awesome but had you not brought it up I wouldn't have remembered that.

Augusta, GA gets a major every year. Some think it's sacred. I don't. That's how we're different.

It's another golf course that's cool because I know the holes. Like Pebble and Kapalua.

Actually forgot about Jordan and 12

But I don't remember who won it that year

Memorable though

You left out Bubba's 40 yard wedge hook? Greatest shot this century.

Was reminded of it with the USGA commercial remake by a 9yo 😂

It's corny and only quantified by people who've supported removing tradition in all sports. It sucks. It's okay that it sucks. That's what my shrink says at least.

Didn’t have high hopes for today but this has been the movingest Moving Day in years.

They may have to change the name of this event from the Masters to the Mastercards. Seems like every player except Rory has the logo on their collar.
