Going Pro - players planning to enter NFL draft - bowl implications

In case you were worried, Tennessee’s Kicker, Cimaglia, announced he will be back next season.

Now that everyone is done playing, who is gone from LSU and Clemson? How much do we adjust LSU for Burrow? I think he may be worth more points to a team than anyone since Cam

Curious if they go the grad transfer route. Chase and Marshall are back, curious to see what Jefferson and do. Team could be loaded and primed for a seasoned QB to come in.

Conventional wisdom says D'Eriq King

I suspect we’re going to be totally gashed. I’ve said for a while this is all setting up for a huge RSW under for me in the Spring as long as the number isn’t down in the 8 range.

On defense Chaisson and Delpit are likely gone. The key players to watch will be Shelvin and the linebackers. On offense I assume Jefferson, Moss, and Clyde will be gone, and potentially a lineman or two.

And it goes without saying Burrow is not replaceable. Just by the numbers this would have been a different looking team had he simply had a normal, great all American type season as opposed to a legendary, potentially greatest individual season in the history of the sport type season. On top of that you also lose the stuff that can’t be quantified.

I don't see any way LSU has any interest in King, gps_3. He claims to be 5-11, but looks shorter. He is fast compared to AAC defenders, but average compared to SEC teams. Average passer against AAC teams, below average against the few Power 5 teams he played. 0-3 v. FBS teams last year, barely 50% completion percentage.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't know why they'd even waste a scholarship on him.

The LSU exodus coming quickly. Declared so far today:
Delpit (S)
Queen (LB)
Jefferson (WR)
Cushenberry (C)
Phillips (LB)
Charles (LT)
Edwards-Helaire (RB)
Moss (TE)
Chaisson (OLB)

Still to watch, some much more likely than others:
Ingram (OG)
Shelvin (NT)
Logan (DE/DT)
Stevens (LB/S)
Vincent (DB)

wow those are some serious impact players leaving LSU en masse

LSU going through what Bama goes through every year--staff leaving, lots of talent leaving.

I like the way Coach O addressed it though. He said, "we expect it, we're LSU and we can handle it. We recruit players we know have the talent to play in the NFL and we tell them when we recruit them we only expect them to stay three years."

Chaisson and Moss gone. I think the other possibilities have confirmed to be staying. Most would have been a stretch anyway except for Shelvin.

So it looks like the final tally, including key seniors, for LSU will be:
QB (just listing as a QB is an understatement obviously)
RB
WR
TE
LT
C
RG
OL (swing guy who played starter snaps on the season while others were injured or suspended)
DE
ILB
ILB
OLB
CB
S

The coach who installed the offense and was at least somewhat involved in the play calling.

And the DC

That's a lot of talent, MOT, as much as i can remember leaving from any team. No way they can be as good next year, but they're LSU. They can still be damn good.

I don't know how much talent the other SEC teams have coming back, but just in division Auburn, aTm, and Ole Miss all have experienced, good QBs returning.

I don't see Bama having the talent edge they had in the past so I can't figure out who will be the favorite.

Alabama has to be the favorite in the West at this point because they are such a known quantity. I’d put LSU 2nd based mainly on faith in their recruiting and that O will make decent hires. Aub lost everything that made them competitive. Maybe it’s my own prejudices, but I think Bo Nix sucks. If Aggie is ever going to make noise, next year is the time, though I have no faith in Mond at all. The Mississippi schools could surprise someone, Arkansas has no chance with their talent

I am counting them out, too. I love me some Coach O. Love him. But as i told my U$C buddy friend who keeps singing Coach O's praises and lamenting that he didn't get the Trojan job back in 2013: I want to see what Coach does the next 3 years.

Bama loses key players and coaches seemingly every season but they are always right there in the CFP every season save for this one. it was an incredible and magical LSU season but it feels like the type of dream season where a team catches lightning in a bottle and capitalizes huge that one season and then everyone bails. 9 underclassmen declared, most of whom were key assets, burrow is gone, aranda the DC gone, and the pass game coordinator leaves after just one year. talk about a mass exodus of key components. everyone wants to get paid. the two underclassmen WR's know that many steps will be taken backwards after this season. there is no other way to go but backwards.

next season Bama has to be the SEC West fave and auburn although losing several key guys on the front 7, has to be considered at least even with LSU if not slightly ahead going into 2020. tex A&M goes into year three with Jimbo and you can expect strong improvement. miss state has some material and gets leach. only ole piss and arkie look to be nonfactors next season but now that i said it look for one or maybe both to surprise LOL
