Voice of Reason
I’m just getting a look at the card now so no plays yet, few initial thoughts bout it but hopefully we can bang out some winners to keep paying for all my nba losses!
Texas -190? That feels crazy but then you look and see McCullers 2 starts vs some the worst teams and you gotta wonder if he was ready to pitch? He has only pitched 4 innings so I’m not sure how much we can cap off his numbers other than the fact his velo down quite a bit across the board, the snap on his slider isn’t there, he doesn’t seem able to locate with diminished stuff. I didn’t go back and look at his rehab starts but I gotta believe stros saw something to think it was ok to bring him up and put back in the rotation, or is it a case they don’t have any other options? I mean a pen game would make more sense if you basically having to cover 6+ innings in McCullers starts anyways, why use him and start in a huge hole? Could be just like all the things I said bout Stros yesterday and how they decided to show bregs the door and trade Tucker maybe they just don’t give a shit and are gonna reset and go back into trying to tank for picks! God that would be awful! Anyways there no chance in hell I’m laying -190 on rangers but doubt there’s any way to play Stros.
1st glance gore and nats getting plus money vs o’s seems like a play to me, I been talking gore up since he landed on nats from one trade or another (can’t recall which player got gore return). He finally seems to be realizing that potential which isn’t a shock since I think 26 is about the target range for a lot of great pitchers to realize their talents. 75:16 k/bb ratio in 52 innings is elite. Last i checked the o’s hitters have struggled a ton with lhp this year. Not quite sure why Nats are dogs?
The starting pitching matchup in the subway series feels pretty even to me, 2 teams playing at a high level, not sure why yanks are -140? Feels disrespectful to Mets but will have to look closer.
Our beloved tigers (I’m such a bandwagon jumper! lol) are unfortunately getting a look at the Jack Flaherty us former cardinals fans (lol) have been annoyed with for years, without looking I assume at 29 and presumably injury free his stuff is still pretty much the same but he is not getting the results. That was the story of his inconsistent career before leaving stl. Maybe he a slow starter and there real value here? I would def like to find enough reason to back Detroit at this low price vs the perpetually mediocre blow jays.
Without looking at anything at all Red Sox even money feels like the right side.
years back I woulda probably jumped on some kind of under in the Tampa/fish game but the crazy over run at marlins park last year and a half makes me hesitant but Ill def be looking at k props for both pitchers..
Kc-140 feels like a pretty good number but I’m not really sold cards can sustain playing above .500 as much as I believe in Kc. Starting pitching and pen edge is enough for me to say Kc or nothing but ya’ll know I’m not big on ml favs.
Omg dbacks are -415!! Just saw this, I’m not saying it not justified but you just can’t lay that on a single baseball game and win money long term imo. I have no real desire to attempt to cap a team as awful as Colorado but cmon man, it’s pretty obvious books don’t want to be needing rox either!!
A’s are incredibly tempting as they continue to be disrespected, one the teams I liked to exceed expectations coming into year and one I bet a lot. Without capping it I already know I like the A’s.
That bout all till I get deeper into the card just wanted to get thread up so everyone could chime in.
