FF Question

Mo

Pretty much a regular
I'm in a 10 team PPR league. I have the 7th pick. My strategy is to go RB/RB, first 2 rounds. I feel the WR corp is pretty deep this year. If I go RB first 2 rounds. I think Mike Evans will be there in the 3rd round. Then I can draft another RB. THOUGHTS???

It's tough to stick with a plan round by round because you don't know how the draft will go. In round 1, if you like RB, it looks like you might get someone like Lynch, Anderson or Murray at #7. In round 2, I think it's tough to pass on a stud WR1 in favor of a questionable RB especially in PPR.

Shouldn't go in demanding that you take positions. Draft for best player each time around.

Sounds like a solid plan eggs. I just thought given the WR Corp this year, I could maybe get Forte with 7th pick and come back and snatch up Hill with the 14th

I think that format it isnt a bad play for gronk.... 10 team leagues, you'll find places everyone, with gronk you'll know you have the advantage in TE each and every week

you'll find places everyone doesnt make sense... i kind of meant you wont have a problem filling lineups, and everyones team will be above average (most likely)

Changed strategy. Thanks to Gorgolon. WR/WR. Then it's RB for the next 3-4 rounds.

do you want hill in the 2nd round of a ppr league?

Orange,
Now I'm thinking that if Dez is around, I will take him with the 7th pick. I don't think Demaryius will be there with the 14th pick. I'm not big on AJ Green, or C. Johnson so if Jordy is there I will take him in the 2nd round, then start to draft RBs.

While WR is deep, I think there is a big drop off from tier 1 to2. In my Ppr leagues, targeting Top tier WR in every first round.

Agreed. the issue with some of the RBs is age. Peterson, Charles, Lynch have alot of miles on them, although AP sat out last year. I still think focusing on WR the first 2 rounds will yield dividends. I will be comfortable with the likes of Lamar Miller, Latavious Murray or jonathon stewart as my starters.

1 thing i have in my favor is there are a couple of guys who love drafting QBs early. If 1 of those guys takes Luck or Arod. I could get lucky and snag up Julio Jones as my 2nd WR.

Yea. Let those other guys waste early picks on QB's. You can get quality QB's without losing many points at all compared to other positions many rounds later. Whereas those guys can't make those points up and thusly have less
depth/quality bc they're gonna be chasing the rest of the draft.

Question. I have the 7th pick. If Lynch is there do I take Lynch or Dez. I'm leaning Dez. I think I can get similar or close to the same production out of Lamar Miller, and he will be around in the 3rd round

I was in my cheapest league draft yesterday and had 7th out of 14....got gronk/a.j. green/hopkins/Keenan allen..... then spent the rest of my picks on rbs that have high reward if they get their opportunity....and in your situation you have 10 people, so those backend names can be better and you'll have the dominate te in the league. QB is not needed in a 10 team league

And I just missed out on Lamar and the rbs around him as 1-6 filled their rbs I feel like by end of round 3 and 8-14 filled wrs

Ppr league, Dez at 7. Lynch wouldn't be considered a 1st rounder. Should be there at 13 for you if you are still interested. Also, Gronk isn't a bad pick in the ppr league. I didn't notice ppr in your initial posting.

I could WR/WR/WR. But at pick 34. I could snatch up Johnny Stew. Then it's pretty much a crap shoot. I wouldn't mind Gordon but i don't think he will be there.

I'd be a nervous wreck if Johnathan Stewart was my lead back on a FB team. It's not if he gets hurt: it's when he gets hurt. Ugh.

I dunno. He is their only running option. He could do well this year. I would feel better if I went WR/WR. Then chase some RB

Starting the draft with 3 WRs isn't crazy. I did a 10-team ESPN mock with a back end pick and got Dez, Julio, and Jeffery. In PPR, that is a solid start. Then, you could probably go RB with your next 4-5 picks. Stewart could be good to mix in with a grouping of RBs.

I'm seeing Lamar Miller in round 3 in almost every mock I do. So I usually take him over the 2nd tier of WRs. If he's gone, I usually take Ingram over the Tier 2 WRs as well.

Well... I got
Dez
Demarius
L. Miller
and Jonny Stew as my first 4. Im comfortable with it. i reached on a couple after that. But I really wanted Eli and I got him in the 9th. The guy after me wanted to trade Eli for Romo. I declined. He drafted Romo in the 8th. He said he wanted Eli as a back up. That makes no sense.

like the first 3. don't like stewart in ppr. don't know why anyone would draft romo in 8th then offer him for manning in 9th. very strange indeed.

I went with Stew because I think he gets a ton of carries. Hopefully he stays healthy. I don't think Romo has a bad year. I just preferred Eli over him. He is a NYG fan but it doesnt make sense to draft a QB and immediately want to trade him. They both will probably finish the year with similar stats.
