February Discussion...

At what price would one look to fade OKC western conference futures? Circa has -105 on the ‘no’ and im considering jumping in if this gets to plus money
I guess we need to handicap "the field".

Houston I think won't have the offense in playoffs just yet.

Memphis, the defense isn't there.

Lakers, the bigs aren't there.

Clips are the Clips.

Warriors, nah imo.

Denver has thc experience but they need to have perfect health and Murray to play like a few years ago.

Dallas the WC if AD does come back healthy.

Lakers don’t have the bigs but they have plus size in Luka, Lebron, Rui. I’m not counting them out.
Not counting the warriors out, they’ve been a different team with Jimmy.
Spot on with Denver. Dallas, obviously a huge mystery with AD. But those are the four teams that I think can give OKC a series. I’m not dying to fade OKC by any means, price just seems steep as odds on favorites I guess?

They far too young to be the odds on favs imo, especially in a stacked west. We know how nba works, more times than not you gotta pay your dues and it a several year grind to make it to the top. I love watching okc play but id bet my left nut they don’t make the finals. I actually grabbed some lakers right after the Luka trade, assuming he plays himself back into shape I think they the best team in the west, only team that scares me is Denver cause they have nobody to check joker. Not reading much into the game last week as it was clearly far more important to lakers than nugs who have owned them and I think just went thru the motions. The playoffs, in particularly the western conf should be fantastic.

I think the West in this order for now

OKC
Dallas if AD miraculously stays healthy
GS

The rest

You selling lakers way short imo. Bron is a freak of nature, any given night dude is still the best player in league. Surely Luka will get himself into playing shape by time playoffs start and we have seen what a big time playoff performer he is. Yes they could use a rim protector but overall they are a really long team and the d hasn’t really dropped off at all without AD. Luka has owned okc also.

I agree Dallas is pretty well constructed IF ad were to play but that like seeing a unicorn, I have a feeling the only reason he played as much he did in la was the bron effect, good chance he reverts back to his younger days when playing any given night was optional.

Imo there no way golden state matched up w lakers, jimmy does make them interesting but Steph would be a bigger liability on the defensive side than Luka is given his small stature and fact he almost assuredly get stuck on a 6’7 guy who can abuse him.

For me it

Denver:
Lakers
Everyone else (I’m not gonna play the “if ad healthy game as I think I already know the answer, lol).

I love watching okc but I think they a year or 2 away.

Timberwolves killed themselves with that awful trade. I understand ditching towns even tho he one the more unique offensive players in the league I don’t like his attitude and he is a disaster guarding the pick and roll (as Knicks as finding out, he gotta be making Tibs crazy! But to get back that bum Randle was a terrible trade that set them back), and as much I like ant he shoots way too many 3s for my taste.

Actually think I would put Memphis 3rd behind Denver and lakers, they have a real shot w the way Jackson playing:

And I think the Lakers have given in to rebuild mode without collecting a solid big. They aren't it for me. Never know I guess but if that collection wins a 'ship it diminishes the league as a whole in my book.

Having 2 of the best 5 players in the league? Luka lead crap to the western finals last year now he has a freak bron as a running mate

I'll stand by it

If Reeves ain't on they aren't sniffing the 2nd round

Im not saying they don’t need reeves but you out your mind to say he more important than bron. They need all 3 and Rudy to continue playing the way he has but I think they have a very good chance of at least reaching the wcf. Honestly the only team I think a problem for them Denver cause we know how that matchup has gone and that was with AD defending Jokic! Sure no rim defender not ideal but they are long and let’s be real outside the Celtics all these teams have flaws. When push comes to shove I don’t think there 2 guys I trust more in a must win game than bron and luka, assuming he gets himself in shape.

I actually think Curry and Jimmy can make a push but that's it outside of OKC

I just think okc to young, you know how the nba goes usually gotta go thru some growing pains, And Luka has roasted them. Jimmy makes warriors interesting, wouldn’t shock me if they made a run. Those 2 trades made me way more excited for the playoffs that’s for sure cause I thought gs and lakers were both drawing dead before the moves.
