February Discussion...

Taking a shot on the Nets tonight. Short spread, Wiz on a B2B, revenge factor for Nets. Nets in an odd spot where they are close enough to the play in tournament to have a real chance to make it, but they should want to lose. Wiz definitely want to lose but sometimes find themselves winning.

Wiz with Portland and Charlotte after as well. They can mess around and get a win anytime this week.

Miami shooting 29% at half in Atlanta, but only down 8 points.
Strong start to the 3rd, then died a bit.

Might be worth a look at a live over soon.

Small though, Atlanta and Detroit off last nights games should have been auto first half under.

am I supposed to know who these guys are?
A few....

#1 Luke
#2 World Champ Jayson Tatum
#3 Giannis
#4 Jokic
#5 Future Detroit Piston Devin Booker
#6 Trae Young
#7 Demar DeRozan? (Only mid range shooter left)
#8 My Guy Dearron Fox.

#1 on the list was just traded for a guy who's out for the season and rarely completes one.

#3 is a guy I like to watch that actually has heart. His performance in their finals after injury was incredible.

#4 is inching towards top 15 players of all time

Quick note in Orlando and Cleveland match ..

2h total is painted at 111...

Dead under game and that's reflected in how much they adjusted the 2h total.

That projection was 113.5 pregame.

That is pretty telling IMO.

I was talking to Cavs offline about that crazy post all star break UNDER streak.

Was that last year or the year before?

I've been meaning to look back at my notebooks. I'll find it.

Anyways, I feel like we're starting a trend towards unders. Maybe that's just the last few nights? But we're seeing a lot of 2h action that is underwhelming offensively.

Look no farther than this stinker of a 2h in Boston and Toronto. The 1st half pace was solid, and the shooting good. Nothing popped in my parameters but goodness this thing is 17.5 points below pace now since HT.

Wild 3rd since the 9 min mark.

Now's a good time to stalk a live under.

Squarest of square play over 31.5 pts. Think I gotta go under just because
Interesting that Bron's point total is 24.5.

That doesn't jive with his recent work.

I'd have that at 26.5 or so.

Will he actually be a selfless player and set up Luka and let him have the ball?

Yup.

Flew under in 2h even after that 3rd.

Satisfying cap.

He's not looking for his offense all that much so far.

4 FGAs and now back to the bench.

I couldn't touch this either way but was curious on the #.

Kyrie bringing it so far.

We're now past the halfway point of the season, and the true contenders are starting to separate from the pack.

Legendary coach Phil Jackson once proposed a simple yet powerful rule to identify elite championship contenders: If a team reaches 40 wins before losing 20 (meaning at least 40 wins in their first 59 games), they should be considered a legitimate title threat.

But does this rule actually hold up? Let’s dive into the numbers:

  • Since the 1983-84 season (when the NBA expanded to a 16-team playoff format), 656 teams have made the playoffs.
  • 27% of all playoff teams have hit the 40/20 mark.
  • 47% of conference semifinalists met the rule.
  • 68% of conference finalists met the rule.
  • 76% of NBA Finalists met the rule.
  • And most importantly—90% of NBA Champions have passed the 40/20 test.

Who are the 10% that have not won it all?

DETROIT Basketball!!

8 in a row -- crushed Boston in the 2h.

Consumate regular season team.

I'm seeing it well tonight..

2h under at Staples is worth a look.

The pace isn't there, although anything can happen.

Small bet under 117.5 but gotta ride the good vibes...

We gained 8.5 points in the 3rd.

Middle options are out there as well.

Let's see how this goes.

Mitchell seems to get up for these Boston matchups

At what price would one look to fade OKC western conference futures? Circa has -105 on the ‘no’ and im considering jumping in if this gets to plus money

Nuggets are 9-1 on the second half of their b2bs this year reno. A game in which the joker didn't play for the one loss. I already took the points but hunting more. BOL. I'm not an NBA guy but those numbers are hard to argue with.
