no defensive player should be taken in the league ever again if it is stat based
I like soccer a whole bunch too, but what I don't like is what so many guys complain about in the NBA with guys only wanting to play with other stars. Some of those teams are just stacked, which makes their leagues pretty much a joke, or a 2 team race (3 team at best). I guess it's not really about the leagues though, it's more about Champions League and other Cups. Still, did a team like Real Madrid really need to sign James AND Bale in addition to what they already had? Or a team like Barca who went out and got Neymar, so they probably have the 2 best players in the world (2 of the top 3 at least) on the same squad? That team should never lose, if and when they do heads should roll. It'd be like 2 of either Jordan, Kobe, or LeBron (when in their primes) on the same squad.....there's no excuse for them to ever lose, especially in league play.
That's true, but look who won La Liga last year. Not RM or Barca. It was Athletico. Also a big money team obviously but not to the scale of the other 2. I think England has the most open league. Germany and France are pretty much already over. But that's the way it is.
Right. But in most of those leagues, it's 3 teams that have a legit shot. Athletico has enough big money guys, but you're right they aren't on par with Barca or RM. That's why RM and Barca went out and did what they did....Athletico embarrassed them last year. That Athletico squad is feisty though, they play a nice brand of soccer. Seem more like a 'team' too...but that's my amateur opinion I really just started watching a few years ago.
Actually France and Germany are one league teams. PSG and Bayern Munich have almost no chance of not winning
At least in the EPL you have a few more than 3 teams who have a pretty legit shot and taking the crown. They just wanna be in the top 4 anyway though mostly right?
I like Serie A the best, Juventus is my squad there but they're always at or near the top so....I just like the tradition and love Vidal and Buffon. I liked Matri too, and how can you not at least respect Pirlo if you don't like him?
Just my opinion but I think it's between Man City and Chelsea this year for the EPL. Arsenal and Liverpool in the next tier. Everton Tottenham and Man U in the next tier. Di Maria makes Man U much better tho. He is a very good player if they can make it work.
Serie A is weird man, but yeah Juventus is solid, crushed that league last year. It's a better league tho if Inter and AC Milan are good (another example of money not always working)
Well yes, 3 teams at most is what I meant. You're right about the one league teams....how is that fun for the rest of the league every year?
Yeah, there is so much tradition in Serie A too that a lot of those rivalries aren't easy wins no matter who you've got. Juventus crushed the league in 2011 too, that was the year they went undefeated....they pretty much crushed it in 2012 as well.
Serie A weird how? Less scoring? Or more match fixing? lol
Just found out yesterday that only wankers call them Man U as well....or at least to 'real fans' of the team, calling them Man U is frowned upon. I call em Man U all the time....fuck those cunts.
Man U has no real fans. What do they claim Man U is supposed to be called?
Manchester United, or Manchester I think
Idk, Champions League. France's problem isn't the fact that PSG just outspends them, it's the fact that France sucks. From what I know Monaco the only team of quality in that country as of now but I could be wrong. Germany had some good teams. Borussia Dortmund seems to be consistent in CL. Germany a bit more open I guess
Are you participating in the NFL contest btw? Your one of two not to give me a reply
I'm not sure, only because not sure how many guys are going to be in the Handicapping League this year. If it's not worth it and I don't even run it, then yes I'm going to be in. I'm only going to do one of the two.
Make that your first priority as a mod Alex.
