ESPN Handicapper Picks--Week 5

For sure, his take on trees one the few things I will never go against. Wish ducks woulda made his card, sounded like he might add them on one those segments he does where he has to have another play.
He did pick them early in the week on Daily Wager in his three weekly picks for the Triple Option contest they have going. He talked about how he thinks it will be a blowout, but didn't include them on his podcast picks

Holy shit. I took a little of Tulane ml this morning now houston up to -4, glad it was only a little, lol, fuck.

He been banging on the fact trees have no speed for weeks.

Louisville line keeps coming down, under -14 now. When I was at casino this morning 1st half was still -7.5, I’d love to get ville 1st half at less than -7, they been fantastic on opening drives and in 1st halves in general. Bc fucking awful but satterfiekd gets so out classed by other coaches w halftime adjustments think it way more likely they cover the game number even with ville getting a nice lead early.

I ended up splitting udub between 1st half ml and game -2.5
UW is another one that seems like a nice pairing with a higher spread favorite in an ML parlay. Not sure if I play it or not, like the first three dogs tonight.

I’m staying off the mtsu game. I’m always happy to go against boise but sdst qb might be every bit as awful as Bachmeyer!

Yep entered the portal this week. SDSU defense should have some fun if nothing else.

The problem is Burmeister prob couldn’t win a job vs him either! Should be a awful game! Lol. Can’t blame ya for taking the points w that total!

Added Adam Kramer picks. He's been the hottest of all the public handicappers and has been money every week (28-13 for the season)

He picks several of the games we've been pondering over including Baylor/Oklahoma State. He's taking the over there. I don't have an opinion on Boise St and MTSU games, but leaning the same way he is on the rest except for C Carolina/Ga Southern. Hadn't even looked at that one, but I'll take a look now. Weather may have affected that line.

Fla State (-7)
Miss St (-3.5)
Cal (+4)
Boise St (-6.5)
Baylor/Okla State o 57
MTSU (+4)
N C State/Clemson o 40.5
Utah (-10)
Coastal Carolina/Ga Southern o 64

Cowherd's Blazin 5

Jax +6x 26-27
Hous +5' 27-23
NYJ +3 23-21
Den +2x 28-23
NE +9x 24-23

He said pats outright, I know he dislikes rodgers and the packers but how the fuck do pats score? Certainly not saying taking the points a bad play, not like packers offense is lighting the world on fire, just think they can score enough to win the game. He did say pats outright only if mac Jones plays, they just cover if it Hoyer.

Maybe I’m crazy cause I was clearly too high on raiders coming into the year but I think they beat donks and this pick is his love affair with Russ.

The problem I have with the Raiders is the coach. The guy was already a dismal failure once--11-17 and fired in mid-season his second year, wasted a first-round draft choice on Tim Tebow--and yet somehow gets another job. I thought the Raiders were posed to be a real contender this year till they hired him. Now they are the only team in the league without a win. This is a great spot for the Raiders and would be a sure bet for me if not for McDaniels

I think you being a tad harsh, lots of guys fail the 1st time, I don’t think he as bad as the clown coaching the chargers. Think it a little early to say he a failure here,. They def have some issues to work out but it a brand new scheme for carr, I thought after week 1 where he caught some flack for only throwing at adams he has intentionally not thrown his way some the last 2 weeks, several times when he was wide open but wouldn’t even look his way. I think they will get it figured out, not like broncos with new QB and scheme are faring any better, they just inherited a really good defense there that winning some games for them.

Anyone have any feel for the total in UCLA/Washington? I'd like to bet the over in that game, but don't have anything to base it on

What everyone think of the utsa/mtsu game? Mtsu tough to figure, they have looked pretty good after getting beat down by jmu in week 1. Are they really this much improved over last year to where this should be only +4 vs a utsa team I think just better than them.

I was really hoping to get props on this game but looks like so far only props are on udub/ucla, speaking of which even tho I like udub DTR ov 207.5 pass yards shouod be money.
I played Utsa 1h. Think they’re the better team and want to fade mtsu after their big win

Louisville is -13 and -7 for the 1st half now.

Clay Travis Week #5. 4-5 last week, 23-19 season

Washington -2.5 at UCLA

Michigan at Iowa +10.5 and the under 42.5

Purdue at Minnesota -11.5

Kentucky +6.5 at Ole Miss, and the under 54.5

Oklahoma State +2.5 at Baylor

Alabama at Arkansas +17.5

Wake Forest at Florida State, the over 64.5

Texas A&M at Mississippi State -3.5

LSU at Auburn, the under 45.5

N.C. State +6.5 at Clemson

Georgia -28 at Missouri

Strong lean UCLA/Washington over 64x. No real logic behind the pick except I want something in the late time slot tonight if I can find something worthwhile and this comes the closest.

Anyone have any feel for this total?

Already know this is a lucky night for me. I had intended to take Tulane tonight and got shut out when I lost track of time. Turned on the TV and the first thing they said was, "tough going so far for Tulane. They've already lost their first and second string QBs and now they've missed a chip shot FG."

I don’t particularly like that dude but I pretty much agree w all these, not playing them all but I’m not against any.

They could do it. They are a tough bunch and well coached. And I'm surprised they are as physical as Houston on both sides of the ball. Houston plays a LOT of games that come down the fourth quarter and over time.

I enjoy watching both these teams

I'd love to be in Rose Bowl tonight to see the spectacle. I've never gone to a UCLA night game, but I've gone to dozens of USC games, day and night, and they are one of the great spectacles of football. More beautiful women than you've ever seen in one place, extremely rich crowd, years of tradition, a long list of some of the greatest players who ever lived, famous alums everywhere.

The tailgate scene is mostly high-end catered affairs with beautiful women in great looking outfits and rich looking guys downing wine at every party. Lots of TV and movie stars. The Pac-12 can hold their own with anyone in game-day scene.

Wish they woulda just went for 2 instead of playing for ot. Don’t feel great bout that.

Tulane pulls it out!
Great win for Tulane. That guy is a hell of a coach.

Got 64 on the total on Wash/UCLA.

The total is up to 46 now on Clemson/NC State. Thought about trying for a middle for about 10 seconds then I realized I'm going to have a hard enough time winning the over. Can't figure out whether to take a side in that game.

I havnt decided either. On middle or side. If it gets to 47+ I might think bout middle. I just don’t like ncst enough to fade clemson I don’t think.

I'm the same. I like NC State a lot, but only getting 6x or 7 is too close a call for a home team as good as Clemson. I'll stick with the over on the total and just enjoy the battle

I'm going to pull the trigger on Arkansas +17x. I'll wait till game time to see if there are any last minute scratches, but I'm taking them. It goes against my never bet against the best D, but Arkansas is one of the best against the rush and might hang in there tomorrow.

Added Pam Maldonado picks (8-2 the last two weeks)
California +4
James Madison -22
Massachusetts +20
Colorado +17
Penn State -25½

Added Phil Steele picks. Unusual for Phil, no FCS or HBUC teams this week.
W Mich -16x
UTEP -2
No Texas +3
Baylor -2
Georgia -29
UCF -3x

ncst/clemson i think ya gotta be really sure about the weather, it looks to me like by saturday evening there a good chance the rain cleared out of that area, if so ya gotta like ncst chances but the over might be even better!! after watching clemson corners get absolutely abused last week and struggle prior weeks against lessor comp there no way to think they can stop leary and co from throwing the ball all over the yard on them. i been more skeptical of Leary than most but god damn the tigers secondary is nothing close to what you would expect from a team with a supposedly great d!! these mfers have no ability to look for or locate the ball while it in the air!! they constantly in good position but either get mossed or get a pi call against them as they tackle the wr on every under thrown ball!!! i cant recall last time i watched a entire game and not once did the corner get his head around or have the 1st freaking clue where the ball was!!! i dunno what they teaching these kids but they either not paying attention or are incapable of learning! they seriously looked like they came straight off the short bus last week!!! The problem with this of course is NCst coach is WAY to conservative and continually tries to run the ball even tho they suck at it! if they continue to attempt the 50/50 run pass they been most the season they will be doing clemson a huge favor! i would throw it 60x vs this secondary! there no freaking way these corners can defend 3 passes in a row without giving up a catch or committing yet another pi!! imo clemson really only has 2 chances to slow down ncst passing game, weather making it tough to throw and/or Doeren with a ultra conservative game plan!!
Under under under

Boise fired their oc this week, I dunno if that gives them a boost or not?

Something sure boosted them at halftime!! They had total yard edge on Aztecs at HT despite trailing 0-13, then they get that INT to open the 3rd and just exploded on O!

Asterisk, Western Mich is playing New Hamphire. I actually put a little on his Northern Iowa play last week, glad it was the only one I played!

Strong lean to Baylor ML, Wyoming +3. Lean Utah. MIght get interested in A Force if I can get less than 14 and that line has dipped down below 14 a couple of times today

Anyone betting any of those games today?

On Baylor ML several ways, under in Wyo, on Utah-10, AFA teased with Minnesota to -7/-5

Great news on my end - DISH Network is not carrying ESPN channels until further notice. Contract dispute between Disney & Dish. :angrymob:

This same time last year they did same thing with CBS/Paramount and did not get CBS back until January :curse:

Good situation for BC. I'm playing ML.
