Chiefs vs. Ravens Discussion Thread

Man Flowers. Talk about going from hero to zero in a second.

As far as Lamar, I’m just pointing out what seems to be becoming a pattern in the post season, especially in tight games.
I wish I could dig up my posts saying “he’s gotta prove it to me in the playoffs”

Then I lay -4.5 ML and TT on the fuckers vs Mahomes. Moron

It has nothing to do with you rather the statistics that go into this DVOA rating. If the Ravens are going to be rated 6 percentage points higher than the 85 Bears then they should not only be in the Super Bowl, but winning it by 37 points or more, or something very close to that. I have to look into this DVOA thing a little more.
I breeze by DVOA posts personally.

2020 Buff: Josh Allen-421 yards LCFinal
2023: Balt: Lamar Jackson-821 yards Lost conference final. Badly.

How do I change the well-known member phrase under my avatar? I can't figure it out.

Everything that happened that game and they probably still should have won the game.

Pretty bad choke by the defense to start that football game.

Lamar had a bad game. The throw into triple coverage in the end zone on what I think was first or second down was just inexcusable.

I don't blame Flowers for the taunting penalty. That was simply a joke of a call. I do blame him for losing them the football game. first and goal from the 1 foot line is ok. Reaching for the goal line there is just a level of stupid that is hard to fathom.

Harbaugh had a horrible game too.

And there you have it ... the teams defense choked hugely to start the game, their potential league mvp choked in some key moments, their best wr choked the game away essentially, their coach had probably his worst game of the last couple seasons and the officiating didn't fall their way and Mahomes was even better than normal Mahomes and he is obviously the best qb in the league at the moment. It took all of that for them to lose.

How Gus didn't have 10-12 carries by halftime when they got the ball first pretty much tells the story and then all of that.

Looks like somebody lost their shirt on the Ravens last week.

He doesn’t bet anymore. Having said that, what in his post was inaccurate?
The Chiefs came out and dictated the course of the game from the start. Baltimore was in it briefly when it was tied up at 7 (after that lucky heave by Jackson to Flowers) but that didn't last long.

Right, but what did he say that was wrong?

The Chiefs dictated because Harbaugh's gameplan wasn't good at all, and the Baltimore defense didn't play very well early on at all. Lamar had a bad game. Flowers cost them a chance to win the game with the fumble. They score there and it's a 17-17 game on the next drive and KC hadn't scored since early in the 2nd quarter.

He's looking at it from the wrong angle, like someone who bet on Baltimore and lost. It was one long excuse why Baltimore didnt win that game when it should have been a lot of reasoning why KC won the game.

i would not say baltimore's defense 'choked hugely' to start the game. i mean the throw Mahomes made on the Kelce TD was sublime...not to mention they needed a 4th down conversion to keep that drive alive. Good opening script and execution from KC, all the credit to them

But he didn't bet on it so it seems you're the one looking at it from the wrong angle.

Everytime someone talks about how a game played out doesn't mean they're making excuses. All of the things he said happened actually did happen.

I bet KC and obviously won the bet. I agree with everything he said about how the game went down. Baltimore gave that game away on more than one occasion. Great job by KC taking advantage of the mistakes and horrible game plan. Both things can be true. In this case, they are.

People still don't want to admit that the 2023 Ravens were nowhere near as dominant as they were made out to be by the media and their DVOA statistics. Your QB has to lead the team by throwing the football, not rushing for 800+ yards during the regular season.

My favorite quote in the week leading up to that game was "He has a different look in his eyes" referring to a supposed more mature Lamar Jackson. He looked EXACTLY like the QB he was as a rookie, trying to run out of trouble and missing passes downfield when they needed to be made. I cant be the only one who noticed this.

He didn't remotely run enough. That was THE problem, he stayed in the pocket too long. Not sure what you were watching.

I was watching Lamar Jackson missing passes down the field, just like he always does in the big games. Didnt you see that?

Teams with running QB's do not win super bowls in todays NFL. Period.

Yes but that's not really what you just said. You said he was trying to run out of trouble. And that's not correct. At all.

Face it. Your boy Lamar will never win a Super Bowl with his running style of play. Neither will Josh Allen. Accept it and deal with it.

Ok champ.

I don't give two fucks about Lamar or Allen, entertaining to watch is about the amount of emotion I put into them. So is Pat.

Sorry for your loss.

DVOA measures runs by QB's (Jackson and Allen) as successful running plays when they are the result of a passing play that the QB scrambles out of and picks up big chunks of yardage. Thirty years ago the running backs were picking up the yards measured, not the QB. I believe that is where the DVOA measurements come up short.

Discuss.
