CFP Who Gets In Discussion

The NCAA has always hated Miami so why should anyone be surprised that they are more than happy to fuck them over in favor of their darling Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is AMERICA'S darling and gets given the benefit of the doubt because of it.

I do not agree with it but it is pretty clear that the bias is there.

I‘m an American and they‘re sure as hell not my darling. I hate how consumers are just supposed to like certain things lol
I agree. But the dallas cowboys call them as such and the notre dame fighting are America's college team and should just say it out loud like dallas.

I'm an American too. I've noticed that folks who don't have an allegiance to a particular school, seem to default to notre dame more often than any other school.

Regardless, the system is getting blown up today. The options are leaving out Alabama, Notre Dame, and/or any team from a P4 conference, in favor of letting in 2 G5 teams. It was never about most deserving or best, now we’ll move toward ending that charade at least

Nobody is saying that the game didn‘t matter. The point is that it‘s unfair to be penalized for playing an extra game that others didn‘t even get (or choose for Notre Dame) to pay
The B10 and ND have done it for years.
These championship games are newer for some conferences

At least this. Bama will get in. Just like when they sat and made the national championship.

Either way, they ain’t going anywhere if they get in

Yep, Boise getting a bye last year ended the only conference winners can get byes this year. Having 2 GO5 teams in the playoff this year, will end them getting in the playoff going forward.

It is top 5 ranked conference champions.

They're going to blow up the system because the ACC sucks as a whole and their tiebreaker system didn't work ?

If tulane and/or James maddy are competitive and/or win the first rd or beyond, you think they'll still blow up the system.

This angle seems knee-jerk?

I'm the resident purist everywhere I go. I loved the big 10 vs pac 10 in the rose bowl. I grew up loving that match up on 1/1 afternoon. Every year.

Then we went bcs. Still tons of complaints by the masses.

Then 4 team playoff. Still complaints.

Now 12 teams and we are just two seasons in and more complaints. ?

What happened to giving the little guys like tulane and James Maddy a chance ?

What happened to every regular season game should count ?

I don't get it.

What do people want ?

64 football teams like ncaa tourney. ?

Tulane lost by 35 at Ole Miss. James Madison lost by 14 to its one ACC opponent. Neither team is doing anything in the playoffs. It‘s a joke to have them. Their players must feel so lucky to not have been good enough in high school to be recruited by Bama or Texas!

I understand why the ACC will be left out, but this isn't what they signed up for, and fair or not, they have much more pull than any G5 conference. Everything they've done has been knee-jerk in an effort to get results that they want. When Alabama got into the BCS game against LSU in 2011, they couldn't handle the idea that the computers would conclude that the two best teams in America were in the same conference, so we switched to a committee and a 4 team playoff. Then you have another outcome that people didn't like in 2023, so we expanded. Once this became a 12 team playoff, we should have done away with the eye test. With 12 teams getting in, it has to be merit based. And based on the criteria that the committee themselves announced this offseason, Notre Dame should be the one left out.

Probably not, but if anything, the committee should have learned by now not use predicted results in their rankings.

I keep hearing that Bame shouldn't be penalized but yet you are going to penalize BYU.

I always hear it's better to lose early rather than late in the season and BAMA is not playing well .

the morning crews so far on espn:

- dusty d my guy from OU. clearly hates bama and says ND and Miami should go. biased against bama
- louis riddick. played at pitt. former big east now acc. he is saying Miami should be in. biased in favor of ACC.
- EJ Manual. played at fsu. acc. saying Miami should get in over ND. biased in favor of ACC.
- Booger - played at LSU. favoring Bama. biased for SEC.

LOL

the subjectivity is amazing.

i am a Sooner fan telling you that we are not playing well at all since the win at Bama and right now i do not have us better than ND or Miami.

yes our O is weak. but our D and ST's are top notch.

do i believe we are a great team or even one of the 10 best up and over Tulane and JMU? NO SIR.

LOL

objectivity won't hurt a fella.

Tulane beat Duke, the ACC champ lol

I wanna see ole miss with this staff

People will moan, groan, complain and propose changes whether there’s 4, 64 or 128 teams. This year will be as controversial of a year than most likely any other. Is what it is and everyone has their opinion. Good news is we’ll get to see some great football the next few weeks.

I wouldn't be against both Miami and Notre Dame being left out but there is no justification for only taking one and it not being my Canes.
