Angulo hit Canelo with his best shots and it had no effect. That upper cut was telegraphed from a mile away and for him not to see was a telling sign. Both the Doctor and Hunter were stopping it if Weeks didn't,.

I had to show people Coralles v Castilllo 1 with Tony Weeks because they were so angry. I cannot even begin to understand anyone who thought that was a legit stoppage.

Angulo proably lost every round of that fight and Canelo was taking his best with ease, no chance he was winning the fight. Not to mention the Dr. was advising Weeks to stop and Hunter was throwing in the towel if Weeks didn't

Dude you are so far and away wrong you need to watch the fight again stone sober. Why in the Fucking world would Hunter ever want to stop this fight when the game plan was clearly to get Canelo into tghe 2nd half of the fight? Why in the FUCKING WORLD would tony weeks want to stop the fight on one punch when El Perro was never even close to hurt for the entire fight previous. The entire fight REEKS of absolute ROBBERY AND BULLSHIT.

Hunter told him before the round if he didn't show him something he was stopping the fight and the Dr almost topped it after the 8th. Angulo was doing nothing. he was too slow and the few punches he landed flush had no effect on Canelo. The difference between this and the Castilo-Corales fight is Diego showed through out the fight that he was not only in it, but could hurt Castilo something Angulo showed nothing of in this fight. By the time of the stoppage he was slow, flat footed, and didn't see even obviously telegraphed punches coming. Perhaps it was a tad early, but it was coming at the end of the round via the doctor or Hunter.

Honestly the timing of it is what is rubbing people the wrong way. Weeks was clearly looking very closely at stopping it from the 8th round on and even had a very in depth discussion with the doctor before the 9th round started. I get the Mexican worry argument and all, but Angulo was doing nothing, but applying ineffective pressure and taking shots. I agree he was never severely hurt or even out on his feet, but he was not seeing punches coming and was clearly unable to get at Canelo. I hate to compare it, but this fight was very paralleled to the Mago fight where Mago was never really hurt, but took solid and constant punishment for the entire fight.
Now, I would have been fine with the fight being continued, but at no point did I think the stoppage was unreasonable. Perhaps this has to do with us watching different broadcasts. Not sure what Showtime was saying, but box nation was calling for a stoppage from the beginning of the 8th round on and I was seeing their point/
