Just getting this started now. You won't see early picks for the most part from either one of us. I know I have gotten burned throughout the last decade on injuries and suspensions etc. Obviously motivation is huge and whatnot.

Plenty of B1G talk to go in here as well.

Looking forward to a great bowl season:shake:

Feel like the B1G got some tough bowl matchups. Haven't looked at the lines, but could see the the B1G overvalued based on "strongest conference" reputation this season. Similar to what we've seen with SEC recently

Well, here are current lines from 5dimes

and what not of sorts, fall fling of sorts...

will post updates when i have time, thoughts later.

how on earth does butch get these kids up for nebby?

neb seems ready for 2017 at this point....guys riding the bench are likely going to be better on the OL. Coaching staff never could figure out how to effectively use Armstrong. sounds like he's still hurt so he'll be a dropback passer where he is mostly dogshit against anyone remotely competent. maybe neb can run on the tenn front...i really have no clue.

tenny's O line is awful, has played awful. tenny's D line was highly touted but they allowed 231 yds/game.

nebby's run game isn't glorious, especially with some of the play calling, but i just see motivation as a pretty big factor here. tenny was supposed to be in the sugar bowl at the least. now they ain't even leaving the state.

Very good point.

First and easily the most important thing I look at for bowl games is give-a-shit mismatches.

Tennessee shouldn't give a shit.
Wisconsin DEFINITELY shouldn't give a shit.
Florida shouldn't give much of a shit.
Washington State shouldn't give much of a shit, and their WR coach just left too.

Those are the four that stand out. I can understand somebody lumping in Michigan not giving a shit, but I think Harbaugh with a month to prepare for a night game against FSU in the Orange Bowl isn't a spot this team will overlook. And the PSU thing, just no. B1G teams don't overlook the Rose Bowl.

I think Michigan will def give a shit. Harbaugh won't allow anything less imo. Does FSU care about going down the road? How much will they party? That said, I'm not excited about laying 7.

tenny's O line is awful, has played awful. tenny's D line was highly touted but they allowed 231 yds/game.

nebby's run game isn't glorious, especially with some of the play calling, but i just see motivation as a pretty big factor here. tenny was supposed to be in the sugar bowl at the least. now they ain't even leaving the state.

agree, on Nebraska and ML, also Tommy Armstrong should be healthier and he still did pretty good with all the injuries last 3-4 games

Here's a student newspaper article about just that - https://badgerherald.com/sports/201...r-wisconsins-disappointing-cotton-bowl-berth/

I really don't see it with this team and will keep adding more on Badgers as game time gets closer.

http://www.uwbadgers.com/news/2016/...ady-have-badgers-attention.aspx?path=football

This is more like what I've been hearing Badgers saying... in part...

But what about the Badgers? Especially after raising the bar throughout the season to the point where they were in the discussion for the College Football Playoff.

"Obviously, there was a lot of emotion coming off that game," (Badgers TE Troy) Fumagalli said of the loss to Penn State in the Big Ten championship game, a crushing one because the Badgers squandered a 28-7 lead. "But I'm still excited (about the Cotton Bowl). We've put a lot of work into this season and we got rewarded with a New Year's Six bowl. I'm pumped up about it.

"We started this journey at the beginning of August and we have an outstanding opportunity to finish it right. I think a lot of people on this team will realize that and come together. "We don't want Penn State to beat us twice."

----

"Honestly, the way in which we lost, I don't really think we have to worry about that," Wisconsin's senior safety <dfn>Leo Musso</dfn> said of the potential for a Penn State hangover. "I know our guys are going to come out with a chip on their shoulder and play angry and try to avenge that loss because obviously that left a sour taste in our mouth. "It was just the way they beat us more than anything — coming back on us when we had that comfortable lead. That definitely stings, so I think the guys will be motivated off that alone." Musso has the utmost respect for Western Michigan. "It's hard at any level —Division II, Division III —it's hard to be undefeated," he said. "And we're going to be the team that gets the opportunity (to hand them their first loss)."

----

"It starts with being prepared and knowing who we are up against," said tailback <dfn>Corey Clement</dfn>. "We can't take this team lightly. They're undefeated for a reason."

----

Fumagalli has heard the story. Now, he wants to write a happy ending to Wisconsin's.

"We've got another shot," he said resolutely.

some very bettable games involving big ten teams IMO. GL Hunt and BAR.. great thread all year-- wish I could have contributed more

Utah is 13-2 in bowl games since '94. This team takes bowl games seriously and they will get a chance to heal a bit. I expect Utah to cover their bowl game in spite of their ability to play down to their competition. I wish they would have prepped for Cal and Oregon like it was a bowl game, fml.

All that I am reading on the Noles, says they are happy to be in the Orange. Why wouldn't they be? Should they be is the better question. We luckboxed this invite with Louisville shitting the bed vs KY. With all that being said, I like this matchup for the Noles. We have the biggest trouble with uber mobile QBs and uptempo pace. We won't get either in this matchup. The 1-deep in the defensive secondary was beat to hell and back all year, but we are still here. 2s got reps and 1s have time to heal. Pass blocking is what concerns me the most. The O-line showed improvement, but that isn't saying much. It has been open season on Francois all year. I have to give the kid some credit. He picked himself up time and again and put together an impressive Freshman campaign. Dalvin is going to Dalvin. The award snubs may light a fire in his gut, as he will be playing in front of his hometown for maybe the last time in a Noles uniform. Has all the makings of a great game.

Raw statistical numbers don't necessarily bear out a play on Wisconsin (I think they win by 10 or so) but it is just hard to think Western Michigan has any motivation here. Go undefeated and your reward is to play another BigTen team in a non-playoff game. I find Wisconsin very tempting, and Terrell is coming off his worst game of the year. If he plays like that against Wisconsin they are gonna tear him up. The Ohio defensive line also gave Western Michigan fits last game, which doesn't bode well for the broncos for this match up. In addition, I think the extra time to take Corey Davis away from Western Michigan and they are a bit over-reliant on him, often telegraphing the throw because they desperately want the ball in his hands. Also think the badgers have come together a bit offensively down the stretch with 48, 49, 31 and 31 and the qb gets some extra practices here to get better. I am pretty sure Terrell is what he is for the Broncos. You won't see any improvement there because he maximized it. Throw in the fact that WMich was something like plus 19 in turnovers this year. Hard to think they win that particular battle in this particular match up. I admit I was shocked that it looks like Fleck is gonna be back with an extension, so that is something that could help their motivation ... to finish the season undefeated.

Imagine if Western Michigan were to beat Wisconsin .... undefeated, 3-0 against the "best conference" in 2017, including the conference favorite in their championship game and somehow snubbed from the opportunity to win it all. The problem is, this is a nightmare match up for Western Michigan.

Under definitely looks like the way to go in this game imo. The two teams are in the top ten slowest teams area when it comes to pace, and the defense is the strength of both teams. If both teams are motivated, it will be coached to win as well. In other words, maybe a more true game than some other bowls where you get either the unmotivated, go have fun game or the game where the coach is playing a lot of his younger guys to get them ready for next year. Western Michigan, for instance, would probably be well served giving reps to other players in this game if you are using it as prep for next year since they are losing so many key players from this team to graduation. But they won't because they want to go undefeated. Just hope it is enough to overcome any disappointment they have (as any sane person would whether they deserve a shot or not - not debating that here) for missing playoff.

27-17 Wisconsin wins is my rough guess with still some work to do.

Not much to say about Minnesota situation....kinda weird tbh and leave it at that...

Bring on NIU, they said they ready in 48 hours.

BAR: "you pick first"
Hunt: "no you pick first"

You adorable little fuckers!

GL in the games

Thanks fellas.

If I see a 23.5 wise ill play it again.

Only see 23.5 for Sdsu but I only use 5d lines.

Good thread that I have enjoyed all year, guys. We have to wait a few more days before we get a game. I think Indiana/Utah leads off. Tough call at the points I'm seeing. And I wonder if the Minnesota game will even be played.
GL with those plays, mr. hunt
