Well, I think everytime you've asked my opinion on a game, it's ended up going the complete opposite (d'oh!). H2H numbers are good (4 of the L5 have flown over), although neither side's exactly setting the world on fire on offense at the moment. Also not crazy about the fact that it's only set at 2.5 -111, as opposed to something like 2.5,3 -120 which seems to be the standard for Chile these days. Obviously I liked it enough to bet it but, at the same time, don't think it's a slam dunk either. It should be a relatively wide open game, and Palestino have been pretty shaky on defense as of late. Plus, they've had a hectic schedule the past few weeks, so really hoping Santiago try to take advantage and take it to them early. Numbers at bet365 suggest at least a few goals (BTTS is -150, and OV/BTTS is +110), although I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a 1-1 draw either. No real injury concerns as far as I can tell, and weather is fine.

I guess all I can really say is, if you liked the over initially, that should be good enough. Good luck.

Hours upon hours of playing FIFA my friend. Hours upon hours... LOL. Really, it's no different than anything else. You see the scores day after day, you get an idea of who the good teams are, who the high scoring teams are, what leagues are worth investing your money and time in, etc... I'm no different or more knowledgeable than anyone else here. And, honestly, it's no different than college sports. You can't possibly know the ins and outs of every single team, every single conference, but after awhile, you start to realize things like the SEC and Pac 12 are the high scoring conferences, you know teams like Oregon and Wisconsin won't let up on offense, etc...

The main thing to remember is that there's probably a finer line between winning and losing in soccer than just about any other sport. I know it's easy to sit there and think "how hard can it be to score three goals?" but, trust me, it's a lot harder than it looks (a truism I seem to forget a little too often unfortunately).

Anyways, have fun delving into soccer and don't be shy about posting your picks - we could use a few more posters around here.

*This sort of day was overdue with the way I've started the month (jeez, I've already bet on 100 games only 5 days in... LOL), but that still doesn't explain the fuck job in Sweden (all 3 games with 2 goals at the hour mark, and not a single goal afterwards in any of them), or the fact that Videoton weren't even trying to score (according to bet365, they only had about 15 "dangerous attacks", which is beyond pathetic (and a little eye opening) considering the average team has about 45 over the course of a game). Anyways, rather than make a big bet and have people potentially tail (and potentially lose), might as well swing for the fences a bit (which I rarely do). Figure Barcelona might take some inspiration from what RM did this morning, and Messi's back in the starting lineup, so hopefully that equates to some goals. Admittedly, the way my day's been going, probably finish a scoreless draw, but might as well give it a shot.
