***all free agent signings/trades thread***

Vince likes to play and is worth 8 mil, he's doing fine. Livin' the life
Yea I know he has made some in dough over the years and seems like a smart dude that is set for life and likely set up a few generations

I remember when Mike Conley got that deal and we were all "holy shit!"

these contracts are getting insane

and the teams HAVE to spend it

there are only so many players in the world

What's funny twink is I'm guessing you can't find a flaw in Conley's contract, whether it's net revenue or cost to cure, etc...he's worth it

Once the crazy public perception simmers and most people realize what these guys generate in terms of revenue, it's basically an 8-9 man team at most, and the revenue is silly. Guess it's crazy to some that those guys share that rev, but this is today's NBA. And they are in the biz of selling tickets....completely different than other sports.

Memphis will do just fine with Conley's contract.

I don't think it matters if Knicks let Hardway Jr. go two years a go or not. In the end, they took him as a free agent and not traded anything for him. I do think they overpayed him and without any good reason, but that's another story.
I also really like it, how Oklahoma, no matter what, tries to stay competitive. They did a lot of mistakes, but also a lot of good moves that are proving themselves.
It's also nice to see that Houston tries their best, despite the fact that they know that they can't beat healthy Warriors in best of 7 series.
For me it's sad to see Memphis core, after so many years, broken apart. Was one of my most favorite teams no doubt even... Gasol and Z-Bo's frontcourt... was a beauty to watch (for me)...
Clippers are in a very tough spot. They got a decent core and good young talent (from Houston), but I honestly think they need to let go of both members of the Rivers family and probably Jordan as well.
I don't get how Hawks got stripped of all of their assets and didn't get anything for them in just two seasons... Teague, Korver, Carroll, Horford and Millsap - all gone and Hawks didn't get nothing for any of them.
Chicago and Knicks got Wade and Carmelo problem. They don't need them, but probably don't want to let them go for nothing as well. I think that if Knicks sign Griffin as GM, no way will he let Carmelo go to Cleveland without getting anything in return... I also don't get what trade can Rockets come up with for Carmelo, given how they gave almost all of their assets in CP3 trade. Wade actually can be a good mentor in Chicago, if he decides that this roll suits him.
I really like the moves Kings have made. I don't care if they overpaid the veterans or if there are too many of them and will stop the young players from developing. Kings are a mess and positive veteran voice in the locker room can finally turn this team in to a true basketball team. Hill, Z-Bo and Carter fit that description.
Pels should be interesting to watch, but I thought they will try to sign some cheap veteran on the wings or something... I would really like to see what a healthy Pels roster can do this season, but what are the chances to see that...
Zach Lowe wrote correctly in his article about the trades that GSW came up as big winners twice. Also kept all important players from their roster, also made good signings and also, their two biggest rivals - Spurs and Cleveland didn't do anything this post season to threaten them. It may be that Rockets and Celtics are their biggest rivals at the moment, not Spurs and Cleveland anymore...

To be honest, he would be a perfect guy to play around 30 mpg at the 2/3 off the bench on a solid team.

Really like what the Kings have done in the draft and in FA. They literally had to re-build their entire team from the ground up, and they've put a competitive roster together for this year. All their veteran signings were big time character guys that will help their young guys. I really like Fox (wanted Sixers to get him if they ended up picking at 3). I think he's a major building block.

Problem is they overpaid for a guy they originally drafted around 3 years ago.

Had his best season on a team that was rebuilding, smoke and mirrors bruh.

Timmy H Jnr a bench dude, nothing more.

And Bazemore >> Hardaway Jnr

It's not an overpay if the market for 16ppg shooting guards is 16-17 per a year. Bazemore averaged 11 2 and 3 in 26 minutes.... The fact that they drafted him is dumb because either way he would be getting paid because it's the part of his rookie deal where he is supposed to get paid

Ian Clark signs with New Orleans. I liked him, a good combo guard who shot 50%.

Pelicans with Jrue, Rondo, and now Clark are looking pretty good imo at the point.

Manu signed a two year deal with the Spurs. At his age I thought a one year deal would've made more sense. When he's done that bald spot is going to be HUGE.

NO signed Tony Allen to a 1 year deal. At 35 I don't know how much he has in the tank but maybe they use him as a defensive specialist in key moments.

Looks like Bogut is gonna sign a one year contract with the Lakers. Let's see how many games he gives them before getting injured. He did the Cavs dirty last year lol.

Wade reached a buyout with the Bulls. They paid him his money, than he gave them back $8 million. He's officially a free agent. He'll probably go play with Lebron.
