2025 Recruiting Thread

Thanks for getting this started.

The defending champs FINALLY have some momentum. They love to churn the wheels with shitty NIL practices BUT Sherrone is starting to really show his stuff in recruiting. Young and full of vigor.

Team is set at QB in '25 with Carter Smith.

This week they added '26 Brady Hart..

Both should be studs and are friends as well.

Nice to have some leaders committed at that position.

Should be interesting these next few years for everyone with NIL settling in more and also revenue sharing.

I wouldn't have believed it 5 months ago, but there is a legit path to Alabama signing the #1 class in 2025. As of now, I think we will be top 5 at worst. De Boer and staff are really doing a great job with forming relationships and getting kids on campus. We've obviously had to become more aggressive with NIL now that there's no Saban discount.

Just curious, what recruiting service does everyone follow? I use on3 since they have the best Alabama site, but I'm sure many still use rivals or 247

On3

247 went to shit for LSU

Buckeyes add LB Riley Pettijohn out of Texas after striking out with Justin Hill. 10 top 100's is a nice class, but they badly need #11 with that eleventh being one David Sanders Jr.

Oregon and Phil Knight going all out right now as well.

I read an article earlier, he basically wants a championship as he's getting up there in age.

Recruiting for the B16 will be interesting as we integrate the new teams into the mega conference.

Should be fun.

Who?

Ole Miss was in West.

Now, there are no divisions, right?
True I didn’t think about that. I’ll have to go look and see the perm rival games.
Maybe I been hanging with Tea too much and hating on Missouri

May not end this way, but look who just moved to #1 class in the on3 rankings.

Shannon Terry has always done a good job of starting a service, selling it, and then hiring all of the best writers from the old company for his new company
Who would buy without non-competes to prevent that?

It’s a good question. I guess they only have a short enforcement period. I know it took something like 2 years for the Bama 247 site to switch to on3 due to a NC

think yall stay?
Not sure. LSU, Ohio St and UGA will all make moves no doubt. Probably depends on the re-rankings that will happen over the season as much as anything. Even if we don't finish #1, De Boer has pretty emphatically answered the question on his ability to recruit

@B.A.R. making things happen today. Congrats
Lol.

Yeah, this was a several months process to get this done.

The reality is, this .500 season pushed the Mich men to finally embrace NIL in full.

Blessing in disguise.

Bryce + Brady Hart to end this decade is incredible.

Now, watch the other recruits that come. This was a solid class already but now will elevate into top 10 maybe top 5 easily.

Alabama just needs to tell any recruits considering Georgia the rumors of Kirby leaving to coach the Jets which is truly one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I'd ask y'all to stay away from Ty Haywood, but I'll refrain given we just flipped Ivan Taylor

As patient and smart (intended) as Kirby was waiting for the UGA job to open, I'm guessing if he has NFL dreams he knows better than to take the Jets job.

Sounds like Meadows is following Underwood to Michigan? I wonder if Matt Moscana thinks LSU recruiting is burning down? Sorry @twinkie13

Funny thing about Ivan is that all the local recruiting guys have had him flipping for weeks, even a few months.

Basically I think he was hoping to see this season turned around. He's definitely a casualty of this crappy season.

As far as Ty, I believe he's visiting this weekend. We owe you guys a steal or two.

The word Dax Hill double flip and the last minute pursue of Loveland by Saban are our true victories.

Edit: Bama night have made a last ditch effort at Nico Collins but not many in the South pushed hard for him. He was the first star of Jim's "Satellite Camps"

Why would any offensive player want to play for this Michigan coach.

Staff will be much different next year.

The OC could be one helluva surprise. You wouldn't believe the names being thrown around.

The wildest thing I've learned in the last month is Sherrone spends 50% of his time on NIL. That explains a lot on this class coming together AND the team tbh currently.

Good luck but in my opinion the optimism is misplaced.

Not with Bryce Underwood at QB.
Unless their is some brilliant OC coming in I would expect the offense to continue struggling. There are very few coaches like Harbaugh that can play that conservative style offense and still win. It clearly works for Harbaugh but I don't believe this head coach has what it takes but we'll see over the next year or the next coaching search will begin.

I agree it only works with Harbaugh. The current head coach knows that. There were several stipulations for QB#1 to come here and the current offense wasn't one of them. He's here to win a Heisman, not hand the ball off 30 times a game.

Ty Haywood is not going to sign until February now, and Alabama is not going to wait for him. It sounds like he and his family are exploring the NIL waters now that they hired an agent, and we aren't going to get into a drawn out bidding war situation. De Boer wants to be done with prep recruiting this week so he can focus on the portal. They also feel their offer NIL-wise is fair, and it certainly sets a bad precedent if you allow yourself to be negotiated out of an accepted offer. It sucks because I think he can develop into a really good player, but this is the way of the recruiting landscape now. I think Michigan is the likely favoroite
