Looking forward to the new season- Been eyeing Sentry but with all other sports going on, hasn't been a priority. Watching weather / wind at Kapulua but over / unders should be profitable this week. Last year's golf thread was a success and hoping to repeat again for 2025. GL to all those that bet this wonderful sport.

I've got the Sentry pegged as a wedge & putter contest and the weather looks to be favoring the morning flights on Thursday and Friday.

So far, just a couple units on Top 10 futures:

0.5u each

Conners +205
Wyndham +275
McCarthy +450
Echavarria +640

Swing it easy folks.

Good stuff.

Par 73 course BTW. Weather's nice but wind a factor, showing 10-17 throughout the day. Most over/under rounds are floating in the 67.5/68.5 range. I think winning score will be in the high 20's, low 30's with half the field shooting 5 under per round, on average.

Still looking to see if anything is worth a play today.

I'm scouring the afternoon times and overweighting to the Overs...everyone is starting from hole 1, so the late guys will have more wind to contend with.

Hopefully we can sniff out some value. I can foresee the O/U wagers becoming my fave golf wager this season.

Sunjae Rd1 O 68.5 +130

...I think the price has drifted too far for Sunjae to turn in a -5 or better in round 1 as bettors are looking at course history.

It could also be that I'm just itching for action.

Good to see ya bud.

Happy New Year!

Really had a nice last half of the summer on totals by round....some capping and also a lot of great content here.

Plus, found some excellent variance on my PPH.

Yes sir, some wild difference in price across outs. I've found the Euro based odds services to be the sharper ones in seasons past, we'll see how it shakes out this year.

So 15 players shot 68 or better on day 1. Maybe that improves by a couple at most imo in round 2....take that fwiw but the 68.5 number seems like an attacking angle

Sentry Round 2

1u each

3-balls

Echa ov Malnati; Conners +500
Poston ov McNealy; Thompson +205
Henley ov Sungjae; Billy Ho +180
Theegala ov Finau; Homa +200
Davis ov Detry; Garnett +175
Burns ov Morikawa; Cantlay +210

Rd2 Matchup

Bhatia -0.5 ov Wyndham +113

....a bunch of valuable prices on guys that rank near the top of the tour with the flat stick, but couldn't get many to fall yesterday over guys that gained strokes in Rd1 with their putters, which is not their historical strength. Hopefully the rust is off and everybody reverts a bit today.

Sentry Futures Portfolio

Tourney Winner (Live)

JT +3500

...the bounce back from the triple on 3 has me thinking there's some value at 35-1. Perhaps he's got his head right.

This afternoon is gonna be nothing but Kapalua on the main stage

Circus football game will be on the background

Missed a 5 foot putt to break 100 on this course, make it 90%+ the time but wind and booze said come again mate

Rental clubs and had only played maybe twice in the year to that point lol

Struck them well. Missed my Scottie. But buddy was adamant about wanting to play the course, I knew it would be his only trip there so we did it. Was certainly not in game shape.

I like the thought process

Late to the game for this week, but hope to be around for most tournaments. I'm in a season-long one and done as well as a weekly DK league, so I'll be capping every tournament at some level. Took Sungjae in my 1 and done. My DK team is off to a strong start:

Hideki
Conners
Ludvig
Cam Young
Kirk
Billy Ho

I don't really do many single round bets, but may take a look tonight just for some more action on top of NFL and NCAABB tomorrow

Looks like another mild day for rd.3. Over/unders floating around 67.5 juiced to the over. Birdie fest continues. 1-0 rd.2 +2.5u

Live - Burns top 20 (ties included) -120 5u (DK)
Add- Hoge over Hall +100 5u (FD)
Add- SJ Im over Morikawa +100 2u(DK)

Looking to add. GL today fellas

Keegan U 67.5 +125
Cantlay O 67.5 +125

Round 3 Lowest Score (Dead Heat)
0.25u each

Burns +2500
Poston +3500
McCarthy +5000
Dunlap +5500

...I think we see a 10 under or better today, so I'm sprinkling a unit on good putters that can get on a roll.

Sentry recap: 2-1-2 with a small profit of +2.5u. Played Im twice over the weekend and he shoots 62 and 65 respectively, only to tie Morikawa's 62 on Saturday and Deki's 65 on Sunday. 11 and 8 under on any given day should typically result in a W.

Congrats to Deki, didn't flinch once over the weekend. Onto the Sony.

Congrats to Deki, didn't flinch once over the weekend. Onto the Sony.

That Eagle from 100 yards out from Deki was going to be hard to overcome, and Im still almost did it...

Nice work.

Sony course---Waialae: par 70 and the easiest scoring par 5's on tour. Early weather forecasts look conducive to more low scoring.

Forecast for Waialae looks to be good, sunshine with some wind but nothing major. Looking at the course history above and how some of the Sentry field faired, looks like Henley and the Koreans (Im, Kim, An) should be on the radar for top 10, top 20 at plus money. Tom Kim is in the field this week, out at Sentry.

Won my golf pool, and Sungjae came in solo 3rd for a great start to the season long one and done

My initial lean on one and done for Sony is Russell Henley. Great course history, including his first win in his first PGA start. I'm guessing he'll be popular, and I'm think about rising Hideki on this heater he's on. One quirk in our pool now is that we have to pick 2 golfers for the majors and the Players, so I think I have to strategize a little bit more with the big guns, but I'm not sure I'll regret using Hideki this week, as long as he wins lol

Sony Open

1u

2-teamer +684

Poston--Top 20
Clanton--Top 20
..liked the way Poston played last week and the youngster shouldn't have much rust

0.5u each

Deki--Miss Cut +425
Conners--Miss Cut +325
Theegala--Miss Cut +215
...I like my chances at one or two of these guys not having their heads in it early and booking their trip to Cali on the weekend

0.5u
EVR--Rd1 Top 10

Likely a few more units in play pre-flop as lines come up Wed/Thurs.

Swing it easy boys.

Like Henley to have a great week.

You need to drive ball straight here. Deki was average last year at that. We'll see this week.

4-teamer Make Cut +218

Keegan
Eckroat
Pendrith
Henley

1u each

Maverick 27th or worse +105
MacIntyre 37th or worse +115
Tom Kim 24th or worse +115

My outs that offer Rd1 scores have decided to line them all at 67.5 and just fiddle with the juice, so I'm not seeing much value there. Going to scour the 72-hole groups and see if anything pops up.

Tourney Matchups

1u each

Moore ov Hubbard +102
Clanton ov Harman +110
Pendrith ov MacIntyre +110

...looks like a decent chance for sustained winds on Friday and the weekend, these 3 are my higher rated wind players at plus money.
