Head of Alabama Department of Decision-Making
Guess stories of our recruiting demise were a little premature
I mean, congrats keeping AL 5 stars
Guess stories of our recruiting demise were a little premature
Mostly national media saying he was whining about aTm. 3 of top 4 from Georgia are committed to Alabama, so it's not just in state kidsHaving the greatest coach ever and being in the last 10 national championship….who said it’s a demise?
I hadn't heard any such stories, but that's an impressive list.

It's probably me being a sensitive Alabama fan, or just the typical meltdowns on our big boards when we don't get every single 5 star in existence.I hadn't heard any such stories, but that's an impressive list.
Keeley committed to Alabama today. Maybe took longer than expected and Ohio St made a really good effort. This defensive class has a chance to be pretty special5* Keon Keeley decommitted from Notre Dame last night. There's been a lot of smoke with him and Alabama. Our current commits have been working him hard on social media. Sounds like it's more a "when" and not an "if" at this point
This garbage is ruining the game.Even OSU having some issues.
Last summer and now they are really pressing alumni for donations to help with NIL.
And this example as well...
Hard to put the toothpaste back in the tube, but they need to ban the collectives. It's one thing when a student athlete gets an endorsement contract from the local car dealership, or an autograph deal. It's another thing entirely when boosters can give money to a collective and then distribute funds to players just for being on the team, not to mention pay recruits to commit, to go on official visits, not visit other schools, etc. That last bit is against the rules, but there's nobody to enforce it. This could have been done so much better if the NCAA hadn't dug it's heels in the sand and hoped it would go awayThis garbage is ruining the game.

It's ruining the recruiting thread! This garbage is ruining the game.
Yup.It's ruining the recruiting thread!
Seriously who gives a shit about recruiting now with all this stuff. I've lost total interest. And recruiting was always such a unique and fun element to cfb and a way to keep some interest going in the winter and summer months. February signing day was always an event I looked forward to that had me glued to the tv/computer the entire day.
$$$I have no idea why anyone would want to play for the guy but Cristobal is a great recruiter despite being a disaster as a head coach.
I'm sure they are but Miami doesn't have the funds of any of the major SEC schools. Cristobal is an absolutely horrendous coach but he was always a top notch recruiter way before the payments were out in the open.$$$
They are just tossing money man.
Bro, they have more than most SEC right now.I'm sure they are but Miami doesn't have the funds of any of the major SEC schools. Cristobal is an absolutely horrendous coach but he was always a top notch recruiter way before the payments were out in the open.
I admittedly don't follow recruiting nowadays so I will take your word for it but I find it hard to believe Miami is throwing around more money than schools like Alabama and Auburn but I guess its conceivable. Regardless of who is doing it this is really distasteful and ruining a once great game. If I wasn't such a degenerate I wouldn't watch at all.Bro, they have more than most SEC right now.
TAMU only one they don't.
Miami NIL is throwing it anywhere and everywhere to see what sticks.
NIL whole different game.I admittedly don't follow recruiting nowadays so I will take your word for it but I find it hard to believe Miami is throwing around more money than schools like Alabama and Auburn but I guess its conceivable. Regardless of who is doing it this is really distasteful and ruining a once great game. If I wasn't such a degenerate I wouldn't watch at all.
That makes it all the more embarrassing and inexcusable how bad the first three schools were this season.NIL whole different game.
Bigger collectives as of late summer were TAMU, Miami, Michigan St and Tennessee.
Not football but Nijel Packs 800k deal leading to 11 pts a game is a good example of the Miami NIL moneyNIL whole different game.

Miami has that one billionaire mega-booster who basically announced he was going to buy the Canes a championship rosterI admittedly don't follow recruiting nowadays so I will take your word for it but I find it hard to believe Miami is throwing around more money than schools like Alabama and Auburn but I guess its conceivable. Would have been better off buying a better coach.Miami has that one billionaire mega-booster who basically announced he was going to buy the Canes a championship roster
No doubtWould have been better off buying a better coach.
I don't see why not.Raiola decommitted from tOSU. Using my one time here.
I don't see why not.
Dad was only one retained, right?
This is the list and Sparty bringing the rear ya?NIL whole different game.

Do any of these guys actually watch the games because if they did Miami would have no recruits.
Seems like he has informed Iowa's coaches that he is decommitting. Also most predict the Carver duo to sign with Alabama on Wednesday. Guess Saban hasn't slipped too much just yet, though this may mean that we don't get rid of Pete Golding as our DC5 star OT Kadyn Proctor visiting Alabama this weekend. He's a current Iowa commit. If we could somehow flip him and land the Carver duo from in state, would be a pretty salty class
If you want to play in the NFL you play for Saban. If you are more interested in good weather and having fun you go to Miami and lose 7 games a year before having to get a real job.Seems like he has informed Iowa's coaches that he is decommitting. An opportunity to play for the best program in the country obviouslyWhat did Bama give Proctor. Thought it was gonna be the Ducks that flipped him.
Did he just pick up the offer? Clearly Bama had plenty to offer, but just seemed to come out of left field, with the late visit, and then the commitment. An opportunity to play for the best program in the country obviously
No, we came in 2nd to Iowa when he committed in June. Never stopped recruiting him. Read that he had been working on a visit for the A&M game, but his parents couldn’t go or he was sick or something logistically prevented that visit. So the late visit was more due to that. He also visited Oregon recently. I guess he tried to keep his interest quiet because he obviously loves Iowa and the pressure on him to stay had to be immense.Did he just pick up the offer? Oregon handing out bags. Lanning is a stud defensive coach. Will be a force in the weak Pac10 once UCLA and USC leave.Oregon flipping Peyton Bowen when he never even visited. NIL bag men in full force.
