2017-18 European League Futbol

Let's play ball, this will be separate from CL and Europa, last year they were much better for me as league stuff seems to baffle me a bit more but the Season is upon us and it's time to try to figure this shit out.

Disclaimer: I'm a Man City fan which may likely keep me from wagering on them throughout the season when I possibly should. I've never been a fan of wagering on my team due to bias but am always able to bet against them. Doubt I'll do that much this season. Spurs are my biggest fear but United and Chelsea are damn near the same team and can bottle a match down really quickly...just not sure that lasts all season especially if Hazard gets sent packing. And yes, I think Pogba is wasting his career under Jose. It's so bad.

Probably would have done ok with some overs in France last week but Ligue 1 isn't gonna make me jump off the ledge by itself. Will likely be involved in it more this year because I just think there will be goals depending on what happens with transfers, and that's not my normal opinion of that league.


That said, let's work on the weekend. Nice lost at St. Etienne last week, pretty positive they don't start 0-2. Sign me up. And going to ride Lyon overs this season until I'm convinced not to. Did a bit of Eredivisie last season, Dutch seemed to be kind but a bit confusing, not surprising when you make the first go at it. Scoring seemed to be lower than what I expected but I did actually watch some of that shit. Doubt a play on Friday, don't know anything about either but under would be the lean. Going to try to involve it in my natural rotation of England/Germany/Spain/France/Italy(at times) this season. Also trying my best to get into MLS which has proven to be difficult but necessary. Very likely we end up with a team here and it's time to get more than familiar.

Southampton are in all kinds of disarray over Van Dijk, like someone kicked them in the groin. No chance I don't go against them early, they're pissy (and maybe rightfully so) but they're pissy. It's like the club doesn't understand what's going on. Yeah, bet against for this guy.

Sunday games I'll do later but will say I have no desire to go against Spurs this year....except possibly in this spot at that number. Newcastle are a mid-table team and at home (my estimation) and shouldn't have +400 next to them, but Spurs are damn good...might play plus and draw. United should roll as the number suggests, United team total very much in consideration but won't have it til the weekend.

As a City fan, the -1.5 is the only way to play it but no desire to play to win by 2 on the road in the opposing's biggest match in decades, seems like suicide. I'll just fan on.

Not quite sure why you would say Arsenal are in disarray with the excellent end of season and very good preseason matches with the new system. If you're talking about the Sanchez situation sure but he has hardly trained with the team this summer anyway and now out with a small muscular problem that is not serious.

That being said, I can understand the play as we lost plenty of points in 1st matches of the season. Still remember losing at home vs Liverpool last year and West Ham in recent years as well...

Still I like Arsenal to win this and show our superiority especially at home. I'll give you a 2-1 Arsenal win =)

As mentioned above, doubt I'm against Tottenham much this season and did decide against the outright win but I'm good with the handicap on Newcastle. Sure they'll be outclassed but still a big match at home to open the season after not having a taste of the league for a season just seems like the right time to bet on them.

You might have been right about Arsenal but I would say it's more of a perpetual state of disarray...! We just got lucky this time. I like the team but I feel we would need to add 2 or 3 impact players to win the title (center back, mobile and solid midfielder, another to replace Sanchez if he leaves). At present I feel the best we can hope is 3rd place realistically. But I'll hope and dream for more of course.

Reality imo is that Wenger is a cause of "disarray" in a sense because it's just constant year after year and at this point it will continue to be as long as he's there. I guess to me it never feels like they have an identity or even a plan. I'm a fan of Lacazette but he won't be enough to replace Sanchez if he leaves. And that defending is awful most of the time, the other day they looked like they were all over the place. Was kinda surprised a couple of them didn't collide and take each other out lol. And yeah this Sanchez thing seems to be a real problem if he's adamant that he wants to leave so badly. Why? Gotta be something going on when he was featured on such a storied EPL team. They're still going to compete for top 4 I'd guess, but maybe you don't want them to so Wenger can finally be gone. Of course there is still time to add this month.

Yeah I understand what you're saying. I was fine finishing outside the top 4 last season because I thought it would mean Wenger would be gone and I hoped it could have been Allegri instead. When it became clear it wasn't possible I think I was ok with Wenger staying because I didn't see another obvious and good replacement this summer. And I wouldn't like a defense first coach.

However, true about the defense it needs to be better. But have to say Koscielny Mustafi Mertesacker were missing for this opening match. I would like us to go for Van Dijk though, Koscielny still very good but will be in decline slowly he will be 32 soon.

Regarding the Sanchez situation I'm ready for everything! It would be ballsy to keep him until the end of his contract and say fuck it we don't need the money he could get us this summer. Most likely Sanchez would give everything until next summer and play the best he can to get the best possible contract next summer. Risky for him to not sign because let's say he really wants to go to Man City next year he would have to wait until next summer to negotiate with them. While he can negotiate his next contract with foreign clubs in January. Risky if he waits because he could break his leg before the end of the season or at the World Cup and be screwed.

Also to stay positive I have to say we won one more trophy than Man City, Spurs and Liverpool last season so it's not all that bad. To win the FA Cup Arsenal had to beat Man City and Chelsea so it was impressive. I would prefer to win the league but it's important to enjoy things even if it's not perfect.

Those who chime in know I'm not a homer so putting this much money on my team takes some doing...this spot is ripe imo. As I've enjoyed Bournemouth overs the last couple years, this squad is absolute shit and if they shut down the attack in the 1h I'll just take the loss and question how. They have no attack at all, which is what they had previously. Gonna guess it's another bus park and that blows when you need a goal to win, but possession should be 70/30 in favor of City and I'm just gonna play the hunch that a shot finds the net. Afraid Bournemouth have regressed so bad they may fight against relegation.

Alright, I'm not guessing many if any of you have input on this club but I'm very interested on any thoughts on SPAL. They just aren't losing and it's fascinating, other than a couple back line guys, they're entirely Italian.

Hoping one of you soccer junkies has some input because I have no clue what to make of this team. Are they straight adrenaline right now or are they as good as 6-3-1 last 10 suggest? To take it a step further, who the fuck are they?

Trying to figure out if they make for a good fade before too long, I've already made my thoughts known on top 5 in Italy imo...but these guys might throw a wrench into that unless they're just overachieving which I expect
