2016 Tennis Season - Discussion Thread

Didn't realise Roger is 10-0 in SF @Wimbledon.

Seems like a stat to set up a bloodbath for the bookies. Not facing Murray this time round to off-set his old/er age.

So far Raonic has lost the lottery that is a tiebreak. Nothing about anything else says Roger should be the fave the live odds have him.

The only thing that holds me back, is he's never made a Slam final. If he had that experience in the bank, I'd get on him. Don't care he's facing Federer. Roger would just be a passenger to Raonic beating himself via nerves. Nerves were imo the reason he lost the tiebreak. Fell off badly after that DF at 3-3.

at 15-30 a poor 1st serve, then an even poorer decision to come to the net off not a short ball, allowing Roger an easy passing winner

15-40

always amazing how good fed is to get break points opportunities but how bad he is to convert few of them. he didn't had this issue in 2004-2007

that's what cost him us open 2015 vs djoko in final. looks like he is waiting most of the time an hypothetic unforced error from his opponent that rarely come from the base line. He should try to take his shot by trying to hit a winner even if it results in an unfirced error. no way he can win long rallies constantly at its age

Massive turn of events. Even if Raonic had won this set in a tiebreak, Roger would've served first in the 5th.

Raonic breaks Roger's serve from 40-0 down, so he will now serve first in the 5th.

Now even if Roger wins the match he'll head into the final off 2 x 5-setters: given his age and physical issues, it's quite possible losing that 4th set has cost him his chance to win the final even if he makes it.
