Welcome to another year fellas, which is bound to be unpredictable. I hope to post in the NHL thread more often. Unfortunately on the busier nights, I am usually on the ice but I will try to post anyways. I played college hockey and now I am lucky enough to officiate D1 and D3 college hockey, so I know a thing or two about the game.....With that said, it is unpredictable and no matter how much you know, anything can happen on any given night. My strategy is very similar to how I approach baseball. I will be playing a lot of underdogs. The worst teams in baseball and hockey are a lot closer to the top teams, whereas sports like basketball and football that isn't the case. There is not much separation on any given night. Right on cue, finally pulled out an OT winner on a price. Was throwing things when +168 blows the lead with 30 seconds to play but the Sabres pulled it off in OT after leading entire game. On we go, dragging, and clawing.

I was so rattled when I watched Buffalo put up 53 shots and lose. Then I looked at my wagers, and realize for once I finally got lucky and forgot to put that wager in. For record keeping, I am going to count it as a loss. It is nice when you catch a break like that right before the weekend. Record is accurate with Buffalo as a loss.
 
That's happened to me more than a few times - it's a good feeling. You would not believe how close Buffalo was to tying that game. If you didn't see one squeaked past Zatkoff and stopped on its own with about half the puck past the goal line. Buffalo also had a six on four with the goalie pulled in the last 2 minutes. Lots of good scoring chances. I like what they're doing in Buffalo but they are still going to struggle this year - good chance to fade them tonight
 
C-man I couldn't agree more. I was so bummed knowing I was on the right side of a +170 was they were on the road and outshot them 53-29. It was bitter sweet to see they didn't win but it worked out haha. I was thrilled to say the least. Good luck tonight.

Not sure how to feel about tonight. The Wild lose in Overtime which happens. However it is an odd feeling when you are on an under 5, and there is 45 minutes of scoreless hockey, I would think 99% of times you win. But on the flip side, on an under 5 and it's 2-2 after the 1st, 99% of times you lose. Ha not sure if I should be bitter or happy with the push ha.
