**********WORLD CUP IN-GAME***********

being able to afford to concede a goal should mean no more yellows for France; no-one has to make a cynical move in order to prevent a game-tying scoring chance

Uruguay coming up at a crossroads like the argies

Next wc, suarez and cavani wont be around, godin wont, no one to really pass the torch too

Their golden generation is over

Brazil/Uruguay was going to be a non-event with Cavani expected to miss that as well. Now we probably get the real final: France/Brazil (with all due respect to Belgium).

Those teams hate each other

Their matches in conmebol are incredible, tense, often super physical

Would have loved to see it

forlan hung around forever

do they have enough young talent to beat them out for spots on the roster? Doesn't seem that way

In 12 WC knockout games, Belgium has never kept a clean sheet.

Brazil hasn't conceded a 1st half goal in 15 games, and hasn't conceded a goal before the 45th minute in 17 games.

BAR, I think you may have understood his post. He didn't mean that as a slight to me - I never posted my live bet for that game, but I did post a couple of bets that people were live betting at my book, and they both lost (Uru +1.5, draw for 90 mins). So he meant the owners of my home book did well off those people, not me.

Looks like the owners of BetCrimes‘ books had a great morning

Really sorry to anyone who misunderstood my post. I had no idea that BetCrimes was on Uruguay (I assume now that he was) and if I knew that I wouldn't have said anything. Obviously I post losing plays all the time as everyone does and would hate if someone slighted me for it like it happens on blankets. He just said that a lot of guys in his book were betting on Uruguay +1.5 and I simply thought of making the observation in his response that the books won a lot. That's really it. I have this conversation with people almost every day, about public plays, shady lines, etc., so it was just interesting to me.

(I assume now that he was)

I took France to score the 2nd goal live in the 2h, didn't touch the live options showing a lot of love, usually the KOD to do so at my home book (lets just say NZ squares have very sharp corners). I'm content to think that that soft POS goalkeeping makes up for the Croatia to win in ET bet I placed against Denmark. Modric had that soft POS penalty attempt, and then of course the cunt nailed his next chance in the SO just to rub it in

Karolina Pliskova delivering her usual Slam choke job, easily the biggest mental midget in the WTA's top 10 now that Halep has a Slam win under her belt. The Czech has a game tailor-made for grass, and she's playing a clay court specialist (Romanians grow up on clay), and she is currently getting her arse handed to her. LOL.

Plis just hits hard, no strategy to her game and when she is off, she just sprays errors all over

wit that talent, she should be much farther along in career

I'd have thought her SF win over Serena would've led to a breakthrough in her mentality. No shame she subsequently lost that USO final to Kerber, who was having a year off the charts, but that she hasn't kicked on from that result is an indictment on her top 2 inches.

Going to be tough to bounce back from that first match, looked so good well into the 1h too

Here's what a Belgian has to say (took this from blankets):

I've been posting about Belgium in soccer forum for years, I am Belgian, but nonetheless not blind to the glaring deficiencies in this team, I'll copy and paste what I put in a thread earlier:

Spec, I'm actually totally fine, zero stress over this. I would LOVE for Belgium to win against Brazil, but I've been pointing out the issues with this team for months and were they ever illustrated perfectly against Japan.

I'm not going to rehash the whole thing, in short: Carrasco and Meunier on the wings are not defenders, they leave huge holes, even a 6-year old can see this, leaving exposed a 3 man defense, which could conceivably work, if it wasn't anchored by a vain, over ambitious and injured Kompany, his personal thirst for a career grand finale are jeopardizing this team's success. You need your midfield and offence to click perfectly to overcome this, against Japan, Hazard, DeBruyne, Mertens and Lukaku were invisible and Witsel slowed pace down and played balls to the back as usual.
Martinez, the tool, could start with Fellaini and Chadli (who's defensive skills are way better than Carrasco and who still has offensive instincts), but who knows which starting 11 he'll pick, he thinks he has a "masterplan" for Brazil, I sincerely doubt it. Either way, Belgium will go down swinging, we'll score a goal, if Brazil try to be cute or refuse to come forward till late in the 2nd half, they might get a nasty surprise, but without having confirmed line ups, I see this as a 2-1 Brazil win, I will play the goals for sure and skip sides myself.
If we had a good coach who would have implemented a strategic, tactical vision for this team of Wunderkinder, we could have won this thing, but we'll have to make do with the coaching we got. I'll be cheering hard and hoping for a lucky roll of the dice.
