Watched a bit of the parade

Iceland has like 4 athletes in the Winter Olympics? Shocked
 
saw and article about this and couldnt agree more...Shaun White was extremely painful in his commentary
 
the Cross Country skiing is so impressive to me

Hey lets do the thing that everyone hates doing more than anything while at a ski resort and turn it into a sport

There's a new sport this year called Mountaineering that involves climbing with a change of gear then skiing back downhill

Sounds miserable

thats interesting but doesnt surprise me - so many people do that here to find the POWDA and send it off the top of a mountain ...5-6 people die every year in Utah

My sister in law and her husband are huge into it. From what they tell me, they're basically a level below the top people we see on TV.

I tried it once. Was a lot of fun until I fell hard on my shoulder while sweeping.

Do they live way up North?

Have a HS buddy that moved to Duluth. He and wife are big time into it, go to their curling club to watch everything live when they can.

Not surprising his dad owned the bowling alley in my hometown in the day, there are certainly parallels

No, they live here which has a pretty active club and then they travel and play tournaments in lots of places - MN, Wisconsin, Vegas, KC that I recall.

It's big here for couples too. Several coworkers and their wives are in leagues 2 minutes over the border into Canada . Helps that drinking is encouraged lol .

Can get rowdy too , heard one dude's wife got banned from the Buffalo spot for pulling some women's hair on the ice 🤣🤣

I looked into it a little more. They have the national championships (top players, qualify for olympics and world championships) and then they have club championships (clubs with dedicated curling facilities) and arena championships (clubs that share ice with other sports). My brother in law was on the second place team at the arena championships, which was in Vegas in October.

I'll have to ask him how far away they are from the national championship type teams.
 
How bad must the other three women on the Italian curling team be that even with the wonderful Stefania Constantini as the skip, they are only +900 to even medal?
 
The curling is intense and the Swedish chick doing the nerd look with the glasses makes it all the better!

I'm weird in that way. If a girl is really good at something in the sports spectrum, they become alot hotter in my book.

To both

A. They had to be dogs once the US got the random 2 pts and basically stole it unless they fucked up. And they fucked up. I have to refresh my knowledge every four years so not like I'd have been in any position to take advantage of any of it.

B. We're in an incredible time for dorks. I have a buddy that has always called glasses "dorks" and well before this age where they're sexy AF. I'm sure it will cycle like everything else but that chick was smoke with them. Pic gandy posted says she's an attractive Swede which are a dime a dozen lol...but the dorks made the look. Crazy they're brother and sister. Entertaining as curling can get in my book even though there were fumbles down the stretch from both teams...gold medal winning throw was nails.
 
Just learned that a chick doing luge for Romania went to college in Tempe

How does that even happen?
 
Not sure what it says about me but instantly this morning when I learned of the El Paso 10-day flight cancellations, I first thought about my friends in the travel industry. My second thought was Kyle because I don't really know anyone else with ties to El Paso. Then I thought...maybe this is a bigger deal for retroVK than people I know in the travel industry.

Obv the next thought was how this is going to screw the cocaine business in this country

Stunning first half in the women's US-Italy match....Italy is 0-5 with no steals until today, where they've pulled off 3 straight steals in ends 3 thru 5. They have not had the hammer yet and we're to end 6. USA has gone from -250 to +350.
