Chicago pk
Jacksonville +1.5 (-114)
Jax +7.5/SF +10.5 6.5 pt tease.
New England -3 (-130)

Pittsburgh +3

I know there was dissent in the wild card thread, but I feel New England is the play. Just trying to figure out how. 3 is more than likely not coming around.

Saw a few “who did Chicago beat” comments and that’s dead on. But who did Green Bay beat? At Pitt? Had Chicago played really well yesterday and opened as a favorite I prob wouldn’t go near it. Think there’s value here. They also could get shut out. We will see.

Agree wholeheartedly with the Bears. I grabbed a +1.5 when it opened. Couldn't believe they were being dogged at home. This is not the Packers of the last few seasons.

Also agree on NE. took the ML in that one. I don't see them losing.

Felt a bit dirty with the Bears as my old man is a diehard Packers fan but we will take it.

New England -3 (-130)

I tried to get better juice all week and prob missed opportunities while working and it’s obv not smart traditional money management but I don’t want to take a chance with the hook

Born and raised in New England. Most sports my father told me who my team was. In particular, I was told I had to be a Yankee fan. My first poster in my room was Thurman Munson and he had died months before I was born.

Fell in love with football at an early age. My father was a Packers fan but had season tickets to the Pats through his work. My first ever team was actually the Browns. John Elway broke my heart twice (foreshadowing future misery) but as only a nerdy 8 year old could I loved Coach Schottenheimer. I already really liked Christian Okoye and loved those damn jerseys and when Coach left the Browns and joined the Chiefs I was in. We got Derrick Thomas that first year and I was smitten with the team and I am in season 32 of fanhood.

Along the way id still go to Pats games and I saw some great ones in person AFC Championship against Jax in 96 and the Tuck Rule game to name a few but when the teams faced off I always rooted for KC.

My senior year of college my roommate repeatedly would scold me and tell me you can’t be a fan of two teams. Over and over lol. So I was like fuck it, I’m never leaving the Chiefs so that’s that. That season the Pats won their first Super Bowl and proceeded to begin an unprecedented dynasty lol. So you’re welcome New England.

Made my first trip to Arrowhead in 09. And I go every year now and have a crew I tailgate with that are local. The city itself is awesome, the food is ridiculous and the gameday experience is wild. I have even had a CTG meetup at Arrowhead.

So there ya have it. I enjoy telling the story and while I love handicapping and football, I love my team from all these miles away.

TL: DR Marty Schottenheimer, Christian Okoye and Derrick Thomas. Put Marty in the HOF

I knew I gave a proper response here somewhere. This above in the quotes was from 2020.

At age 46 now and a couple more SBs for the Chiefs later, I’ve become less of a fanatic and despite winning the bet last night wouldn’t mind seeing the Pack win one more for the old man before he goes
