Which baseball team do you follow the closest?

lines may be sharper later, but you're still fighting the market and they don't just miraculously get everything right because the calendar switches to August.

No of course not, I just find pre all star I have daily cards filled with anywhere from 2-7 dogs (some short favs) who's chances of winning exceed what odds suggest imo. once it gets into mid august I just don't feel the same type of opportunities are there. All I'm saying is the way i go about it for whatever reason I percieve more value during that time and it generally shows in my results. I have a harder time spotting it as we get deeper into the season which is probably most certainly a me problem but by then I'm pretty spent on the daily capping of bases so I usually start doing lot more fantasy FB prep and reading up on NCAA fb.

I have the same experience Dan. Early on ( a week or so into season) i'm playing bigger cards and later on I switch mostly to shade plays.

Like one time when Phillies beat Mariners as big chalk that was a shocker or when Vargas was a surprising dog and so I faded him and won.

red sox fan here....follow them pretty close....they have won 93 games for 2 years in a row and have added JD to the middle of the lineup....price is healthy and sale is sale (he starts hot) pomeraz is currently getting into shape after a set back with a forearm strain and will probably start season on the dl...porcello is ok at best, cy young year was a fluke with a ton of luck, rodriguiz is a question mark, top of the rotation stuff that has not panned out yet but i keep thinking he will have a break out year, wright the knuckleballer is recovering from knee surgery and will be back by may, brian johnson is a kid but may see some action as a fill in....bullpen is very strong....krimbell will close with smith who is healthy setting up....thornburg will start on dl but back soon and will be an excellent 7th inning guy...new lefty specialist this year,(can't remember name) and a couple solid leftovers from last year, kelley, barnes, hembree scott....very good pen....infield defense will be ok at best, pedroia will start on dl but we have nunez as a fill in and is more than capable, devers the kid will be at 3rd and he's the real deal but sophmore year, hanley will play first and moreland will fill in and bogarts will handle short and he is healthy after playing hurt most of last year so the infield will hit but defense will be suspect until pedroia returns...vazquez will handle the catching (calls a great game) outfield is the best with betts, bradley jr and benintendi and JD filling in (he can play d)

prognosis....this team was hit with the injury bug last year ( betts, pedroia, bogarts, price, hanley all had season long issues) and could not hit home runs but still scored a bunch of runs....they also had a manager that stopped leading and chose to dictate instead and lost the clubhouse....and they were very young....this years team has added JD to the middle of the lineup and has gotten healthy with the exception of pedey who should be back by june....they can hit, get on base, run the bases, defend (except infield) pitch and relieve....the yankees will hit a ton of home runs but this red sox unit will keep pace with runs scored i believe or close anyway.....

they are lined at 91.5 rsw and i took over and it will most likely be my largest future....yanks lined at 94.5 and with their starting staff i see this as being a struggle to get to

others i am considering

kc under (they lost everyone)
miami under (they will lose 100 gamed)
giants over (too many guys had injuries and off years and well managed)
yanks under (pitching suspect)
cubs over (they had a ws hangover last year and they got better this year)

Red Sox look really good and seem to be bit under the radar with Yankees making the huge splash! This day and age was pretty impressive how well the offense did last year without much power (don't know where they ranked in runs scored but assuming was pretty high).

Bj do you trust price at this point? Seems he been hurt for some time.

what bugs me about price is his attitude....last year he called out dennis eckersley on the team plane for eck's honest broadcasting and he was grumpy with the media all year and made disparaging comments about life as a red sox and life in boston....doesn't seem to mind the 30 mil a year though....regardless he appears to be healthy and he was on fire in the playoffs last year so i think is arm is ok (fingers crossed) and he appears to have adjusted his attitude so let's hope he can perform....he basically got a year off last year so he should be strong....i feel like he will deliver 200 innings and 16-18 wins and if he does i will be satisfied

I can tell already cardinals are gonna frustrate me a bunch, gonna have bunch of washed up garbage in pen cause the talented youngsters all have options. Meyers and hicks look amazing but instead we will see bunch of bud stinking Norris and gregerson fucking games up late. Looking like another championship for our triple a club! Lmao

I'm a Reds fan, baseball's first team!
We will be slightly better than back to back 90- loss seasons but nothing to get excited about. I'd say 75-80 wins.
Pen should be improved, infield should be solid with Votto, Suarez, Gennett and Pereza at short. No Cozart. In the OF, Duvall will slug his usual, Schebler had 30 HRs last year, Billy Ham is great field/no hit...Pitching was a total dumpster fire last year with 16 different starters...this year should be Homer Bailiey, Disco, Finnegan, Castillo, Romano. Probably some value with Castillo at +money, I really liked what he did in his rookie year with 3.12 ERA over 15 starts. Romano had his moments as well.
Reds will have a plus sign next to their name a bunch this year, watch how Castillo/Romano are doing and don't be afraid to play some overs is my gambling advice...I did catch Homer's last start vs Rox and thought he looked better than last year when he was getting lit up...not sure I want to mess with Scherzer on Opening Day although it is the only game the year the Reds sellout and its a big deal...
