Around 9-10 pm last night he was getting announcedWhat the fuck is going on? TAMU really hired Stoops confirmed?
Great hire for them but I think he settled for a less than desirable job. This can be the official coaching carousel thread.
Oregon State coach to Sparty.
Excellent hire. Despite two months of tracking planes and Urban Meyer, the fans will have to settle for a solid hire.
How does the coach at Indiana of all places have a 20 million dollar buyout. More proof that ADs are some of the dumbest people in the world.Indiana football fires coach Tom Allen despite $15.5 million buyout
Allen took over when Kevin Wilson and IU parted ways, and he led the Hoosiers to the Gator and Outback bowls and a historic top-10 ranking.www.indystar.com
He was going to get hired but the board caught wind of the fan reaction and that ended it.What the fuck is going on? TAMU really hired Stoops confirmed?
What's awesome is no Matt Campbell talks for a minuteAround 9-10 pm last night he was getting announced
Around 1am he was all Kentucky.
AM trying to go a different route, but the fans want someone overpaid I guess. You've really got to wonder what the AD of A&M was thinking. There was no way to sell those fans on someone with limited success like Stoops.
Fuck. That would’ve been GREAT. Shit. Who is next?He was going to get hired but the board caught wind of the fan reaction and that ended it.
Optics. They can’t hire Stoops…..the one that ain’t won and have LSU poach the Notre Dame coach. No way.AM trying to go a different route, but the fans want someone overpaid I guess.
He's leaving the Pac 2 for the Big Ten. Those jobs are all gold right nowGreat hire for them but I think he settled for a less than desirable job.
Stoops isn't the answer and he is another guy that is overpaid already.AM trying to go a different route, but the fans want someone overpaid I guess.
Iowa will continue to destroy that gauntletHonest question ive always wondered about. In Pros coaches under contract cant leave wo teams permission. But in college they can with the buyout. Why are college contracts different than Pros? Why dont colleges write contract like Pros, especially if they have the leverage (for example id say when ND hired Freeman they had the leverage)
Smith to msu ok. They needed Urban to compete in new B10. Said it b4. Michigan osu psu Oregon Washington and fickel building Wisconsin and Rhule Nebraska the B10 is going to be a gauntlet. The lessor runs are going to have to be very creative
I know most hate Urban and it is different now with nil and portal. But i think he's only home run out there. High risk. Look at Napier falling flat at Florida.
Yeah. Who is next?Fuck. That would’ve been GREAT. Shit. Who is next?
Stoops overpaid? winning 7+ games at Kentucky consistently is pretty damn good IMOStoops isn't the answer and he is another guy that is overpaid already.
What took them so long?Dana Holgorsen fired at Houston.
If Urban wants back in he'd be a home run hire but I think he's done. Maybe he goes back to Gainseville once Napier is canned but I don't think he'd ever take the Michigan State job.Honest question ive always wondered about. I think it said he makes 9 million which if true is way too much for a basketball school to be paying a decent but not great coach.Stoops overpaid? winning 7+ games at Kentucky consistently is pretty damn good IMO
They've realy got to aim higher.Elko to Texas A&M?
15 MM buyout? He was quoted preseason saying he thought the buyout was too big for them to fire him. What took them so long?
Hey, Jim's willing to give up coaches salaries for the playersThe Big Ten schools get almost $60 million per school from TV and media contracts? There is money there to over pay coaches and for stupid high buyouts. It's like they are CEOs in corporate America and the buyouts are the golden parachutes.
Can Florida really keep a second year 7 loss coach?
Very young team. I am fine with actually building a foundation unlike the sugar high and crash that Dan Mullen provided. Mullen's lack of recruiting ability/focus really cost UF. The last two games were close losses to Missouri and Florida State with a backup QB, and that showed overall improvement. I'm still behind Napier and I think he can get it done.
Its good that we can stop pretending that the players are anything other than pros.Love how the lowest incentive is players graduating.
