Indiana is one of the worst tackling teams in the country (or Bowling Green has some of the hardest guys in the world to tackle .... but I think its the former)

it's hard for 21 year olds to focus

kyle flood is an awful, awful coach. ok i knew this before but it needed repeating. and try a suicide or two at the end of practice. they were visably tired by the early 4th

arizona state doesn't have a backup. if kelly is out graham needs to look at some young guys

travel and 12:00 kick might have bothered boise a little. but bring some different sizes of cleat studs for god sakes. they were ice skating with their skate guards on

Ya the slips by boise was ridiculous.

1. UCLA is indeed a pretender and one that I don't see recovering in the way auburn did last year. 5th best team in the pac12?
2. Boise just doesn't have the offensive line they once had anymore. They have a difficult time getting push and opening holes. Pass protection is average.
3. Richt can't get an endgame right anymore. I am reminded of the bowl game a couple years ago. First and goal from the 4 and he doesn't run 4 times.
4. Texas Tech will struggle against any decent running attack
5. The Kansas qb is a special kind of terrible. He doesn't even attempt to look beyond 7 yards from the line of scrimmage. Throws like my 6 year old niece.
6. No lead is safe ... even a 35-7 lead in a game with an option attack on both sides of the ball
7. West Virginia qb has improved a lot year over year
8. I need to check late injury reports more.
9. ASU defense is a joke
10. Fresno state really is that bad

The big 10 is truly awful. Indiana, Check, Iowa, Check, Illy, check.

Minnesota can't pass the ball. When they play a team that can stop the run, they are fucked.

Muschamp needs to go at Florida. I know Tucky is improved, but you don't take them to 3OTs at home.

Tennessee is going to be really good in the next couple of years. I thought Okie would beat them by alot more.

Repeat after me "I will not take Mark Richt in a big game" "I will not take Mark Richt in a big game" "I will not take Mark Richt in a big game"

A&M and LSU absolutely slept walk through there games. Bama although dominated didn't look good at times.

Texas Tech can't stop the run

I can't wait to continue to bet against Vandy. They're so bad.

WV's offense looked really good, I believe thats a huge step up from last year.

UCLA is not a good football team. Swoopes is not a good QB. Poor Tejas

Nobody in CFB can cover downfield. Why these teams continue to refuse to throw downfield when they are capable is a boggle for me. Whenever Kentucky went away from Hargreaves(and shockingly it wasn't every time) guys were streaking open, sometimes uncovered). All these coaches seem to want to justify their existence by showing off their schematic muscles and wonderfully designed plays, when all they have to do is send a good receiver downfield and throw the ball to him when some idiot forgets to cover him.
A&M could have scored on every play if they felt like it. Sumlin was just fucking around all night and it cost the cover.

Kevin Wilson is an incompetent fool. See #1 above. He's the worst culprit. He runs these multi-faceted plays wiith nineteen blocking schemes and 12 different facets of the play that gets blowin up if one dude step 8 inches in the wrong direction. JUST THROW THE FUCKING BALL DOWNFIELD. Bowling Green gave up 985 yards passing and 37 yards per completion to Western Kentucky for Christ sakes! They cannot cover your receivers. Their first half was the worst excuse for coaching I may have ever seen. I'm dumber for having watched it. He even brought in some spastic "athletic" backup qb to run the woldcat on 4th and 2. The BG cheerleaders could have lined up on D on that play and they would have stuffed it.......He might also want to teach his players the novel concepts of pursuit angles and containment. Can you tell I bet on him?

Dylan Thompson can sling it. I had underestimated him, but he good. Both of those SC running backs run hard too. Really hard. I like Wilds almost as much as Davis.

Notre Dame looks prety good, but their offense is not very good. When the schedule picks up, the worm will turn for them I fear.

Michigan is lucky the whole Big Ten is a joke because if they were in a real conference they might go 1-7.

You need to have your head examined if you ever lay DD on Iowa, and I almost did it yesterday.

USF had a 75 yard TD pass early in the game yesterday. After that they gained 84 total yards. Other than that play, Mike White was 3-15 for 7 yards. They probably spent tons of trainer man hours and cash on heavy treatment to get him ready. what the hell was the point of that?

La-La and Terrence Broadway forgot how to play football I guess.

Tim Beckman now is 1-9 ATS on the road. The rule is fade Illinois in all non-Purdue road games. At home you can consider, not on the road. Bad, strange things happen to that team on the road.

Bobby Petrino is wishes he was left with even a semblance of competence at the QB position, but he has Will Gardner.

Too bad for Chuckie Keaton. After the injury, he just isn't good. His deal used to be his running ability which opened things up for his throws, but he can't run anymore...(didn't even get a positive yard last night) so can't throw now either. I think their staff is figuring it out, but until they do, Utah State isn't going to be hammering teams like they have in the past.

I've had a lot of fun betting against Florida lately. Hope to continue that.

Toledo's secondary is a major issue. If they had a secondary, & if their new DC didn't use terrible schemes/packages then they would be the best team in the MAC by a mile. They run soft zone coverage & get passed all over. But when they actually decided to blitz they can get good pressure b/c their front 7 is pretty damn good. Some reason the DC doesn't do that though

Florida has major problems. I admittedly was too high on Florida it looks. Kentucky is improved....but not so much that they should come in & beat Florida at home, which the Gators are lucky didn't happen. This team looks like they want to talk more than they want to play....b/c it hasnt shown up on the field. Driskel can't execute when the defense puts pressure on him. He thinks too much & still makes dumb mistakes when he is now in an offense that is designed for the QB not to have to think much at all. It's early in the season, and they may be still getting in rhythm with the new offense, but they don't have any more cupcakes to play so they are in trouble it looks. Defensively, their secondary is a major concern....& i think this is the most surprising thing about this team. Front 7 looks good, but besides VH3 in the secondary, they have problems. Starting a lot of new guys & they will probably get better as the season goes on, but right now they are a major concern....& again, the schedule isn't going to wait for them to get better.

Oklahoma's defense is good. Especially their defensive front. I know it was against a young Vols team, but OU can get pass pressure w/ so many different players it's kinda scary. Secondary has played better than I thought too....although we will know a lot more this week against WVU. Julian Wilson has been a pleasant surprise at CB...he is very fluid for a guy as big as he is.

Tennessee will upset a team or 2 that they arent supposed to this year. I thought it before this weekend, but this Vols team will be much better as the season goes on. Also, Worley is very tough man....he got abused & kept coming back.

Texas Tech's run defense is embarrassing. I'd love to count the number of missed tackles that team had. Probably the worst tackling I've seen in my life. Kingsbury's going to have to have more than his good looks to get this team to a bowl game.....they will have to fix some things or they will be on the outside looking in.

West Virginia's offense is good. Clint Trickett may be one of the most, if not the most, improved players this year. Also, Kevin White may be up there on that list as well. Holgo is fighting for his job, & I think he gets to a bowl even with this brutal schedule. I don't expect it to be an easy game in Morgantown for my Sooners this weekend.

Virginia's defensive line, & especially Eli Harold, is good

I thought it last week, & it just confirmed it this week IMO....but people who thought Okie St's offense would be in trouble w/ the loss of JW Walsh were not completely educated. That number got bet down so far, & I wish I would have played OSU against UTSA. Garmon gives their offense the ability to attack downfield, which JW can't do w/ his below average arm strength. I'm sure he will make mistakes as the season goes, but he's a better fit for the offense than Walsh is IMO.

Week 3 is full of flat spots for teams. & it showed all over the board. I don't know if there's much to look into w/ some teams, but my goodness it's beautiful to see....& makes college football that much more fun IMO.

Gunner Kiel is as good as advertised. Throws a beautiful ball, on a line, right on on the money, and easy to catch. He is going to make waves this year.

Everett Golson is a much, much better QB now than his freshman year at N Dame. One of the best at throwing on the move.

The world is soon going to agree with my opinion that Kingsbury is not ready to be a head coach and is in over his head at TT. He is over matched against every coach in the Big 12 except Charley Weis.

Kirk Ferentz must be the only pin head coach left who has not figured out it is stupid to call time out at the very last second when the opponent is trying a game winning FG, so the guy gets a practice kick. He was dumb enough to do it Saturday and lost a game against I State and when the kicker missed, then made it on the second chance gift from Ferentz. Every kicker who has ever been asked said they prefer a practice kick so they hope the other coach does it. It has failed so often I thought every coach in the country had quit doing it, but not Ferentz. Maybe that's why Iowa is so crappy overall.

Week 3 proved again one of the most reliable truths in college football. A big win--V Tech over Ohio State, for instance--is almost a guarantee the winner will come out flat the next week. It's as predictable as a team that suffers a broken dreams loss coming out flat.

Looks like Muschamp is the problem at Florida. Like Kingsbury, the guy never proved he even knew the first thing about being a head coach. He is performing like his old boss, Mack Brown. Gets highly rated prospects, some of the best in the country, but they somehow can't play as well as a bunch of mutts from Kentucky or Georgia Southern He got the benefit of the doubt last year because of injuries, but it's becoming apparent he is in over his head.

A&M slept walk through there games.
I watched a lot of this game and you are correct. But, I also believe that their D is 'suspect', particularly against the pass. Will be paying particular attention to the line when they play Ole Miss

- Kingsbury is a just a slim and prettier version of that clown Leach. Discipline and defense will like never be a part of Tech's football program. Nothing is changing under this staff. Their d-line was absolutely annihilated and Bielema should have his head examined for even thinking to throw the ball after the 1Q.
- Indiana's pass defense is atrocious. Their DBs treat opposing WRs like hand grenades.
- Swoopes has a chance. Started 8 for 8 and 11 for 11 vs. BYU and UCLA, 44 of 65 with 3/1 overall. He's done a good job of protecting the ball, made good decisions overall and had one mistake (BYU pick). He's a guy that people expected nothing from, nothing, including me. But things were opened up a little for him v. UCLA and he'll continue to get more confidence. He didn't lose the game vs. UCLA. In fact, he did a lot to help win it (or at least try to).

SEC Champion more likely to have 2 losses than no losses. Not sure if the teams are all really good, or that they are all around the same level, probably the latter. But I can see a 2 loss SEC Champ winning the playoff and the world will explode again and say the system is unfair.

You don't just waltz into Ben Hill Griffin and come out with a win like Georgia Southern used to do. Kentucky learned that the hard way

Lots of really good posts here, this is a very valuable thread especially for the games I wasn't able to watch.

Maryland OL stinks. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt after the South Fla. game with the high heat and humidity, but this past week was just as bad or worse. Maryland really needs Wes Brown at RB (benched again vs. WVU for some reason by Edsall) as Brandon Ross and Albert Reid just aren't getting it done in the running game. Of course some of this poor run blocking by the OL. C.J. Brown is a good runner but his passing leaves a lot to be desired. He missed a lot of easy throws in WVU gm. The score was not indicative of how much WVU outplayed MD. Trickett is vastly improved especially when the opposition can't get any pressure on him. WVU has nice speed at WR and White and Alford are both really good quality WR's. WVU pass defense is questionable. The spread is really effective in college due to the general lack of quality cover guys on most college rosters. You are in trouble against the spread if you can't get pressure from your down lineman.

Indiana blows and should be embarrassed for their lack of physicality. Their secondary is awful and coaching was just terrible in that game.

Why did Georgia play so soft in pass coverage the entire game? South Carolina offensive line really did a nice job, and their answering drive in 2H was very impressive with great run blocking and execution.

I am an idiot for not taking UMass +16.5. Vandy really is a train wreck.

Navy got tremendous execution out of first time starter Tago Smith ran the option flawlessly and chipped in with 5/7 for 4 td's. Very impressive performance.

I would never have believed BC could run for 452 on USC.

Think Charlie will get it turned around at Texas, but it will take time. They should go ahead and play this kid Swoopes and let him get some experience. Texas defense gave a fine effort.

Agree on earlier comments about ASU defense being a joke.

I don't think GA's defensive backfield was attempting to play soft. They just have not grasped the system. Until they do, they will have trouble against good passing teams.

I literally saw Pruitt yank 37 off the field by the breast plate, after a blown coverage.
