Imo Biff would be a disaster. The perception of him in Charlotte was awful. I know Charlotte is impossible but still. I think Michigan would be laughed at. Honestly as much as I think they need to clean house from JH era I think they're only home run hire left is Minter. But Chargers heading to playoffs and he's probably a NFL coach next year. So probably not going to happen. Gruden maybe? Personally I think OSU Bama and Georgia are T3 jobs but Michigan is in that next tier. Can't go Brady Hoke againper Kalshi, the favorite is Kyle Whittingham at 22%
Biff at 14%
WhoNow Whitt is surging.
But how? Chargers in playoffs and likely won't release him until season over. And he's also likely to get an NFL job soon. If im Michigan id risk it and wait. But will they? This is the job for Minter and you guys are all missing a great opportunity as his odds stay this low.
I'm just trying to will it into existence but yeah I'd wait for Minter vs hiring someone like Biff Poggi. But how? Chargers in playoffs and likely won't release him until season over. And he's also likely to get an NFL job soon. If im Michigan id risk it and wait. But will they?
It's been discussed in here but he can't take an NCAA job until Spring 2026 which is why he's not getting the job which means he's basically irrelevant to the discussion outside of hope and prayer typesI'm just trying to will it into existence but yeah I'd wait for Minter vs hiring someone like Biff Poggi.

Is a "show cause" penalty a ban on hiring the guy? I honestly have no idea. If so why not just call it a ban? I thought it meant a school had to basically take some additional steps to do the hire. But maybe it's such that it's effectively a ban. NCAA issues show-causes to former Michigan coaches Jesse Minter, Steve Clinkscale for recruiting violations
The NCAA has reached agreements with former Michigan football coaches Jesse Minter and Steve Clinkscale, issuing both show-cause punishments as the result of recruiting…247sports.com
Thanks. Minter is sure to get an NFL head coach job soon. Would he be interested? And would Michigan wait? Curious your thoughts when u get a chance. Tough situation.Show cause ended December 15th.
I kinda alluded to this the other day.
I'd assume that this is retroactive.
I'll give you a better explanation when I can.
As far as Minter -- the quicker the investigation into Warde is finished (and he'll be subsequently let go) the quicker a candidate like Minter would have a shot.
Warde is an issue for guys like Minter and dare I say it, John Harbaugh.
John is no go? That would be some crazy shit…Lamar doesn’t play the last 2 games and he splits?Show cause ended December 15th.

why would John take the job that brother Jim was at and won a natty?John is no go? That would be some crazy shit…Lamar doesn’t play the last 2 games and he splits?
Definitely not a no go at all.John is no go? That would be some crazy shit…Lamar doesn’t play the last 2 games and he splits?
John has had a lifelong dream of coaching the Jets and if I have any say in it the job wil be opening up very very soon.why would John take the job that brother Jim was at and won a natty?
why would John do that to his own legacy?
i don't see it.
I don't think Jesse is on the board currently...So the question that I have for @B.A.R. is this; does Minter have a legitimate shot and who do you think ends up with this job.
This one would generate more interest for me at least than the rest of the listTodd Monken OC for Ravens being looked at.

If you aren't working the portal next week you simply have chosen to not make the portal very important for next season. And that might be the case.to quote / paraphrase my friend KJ - do they know what time of the year we are in? (Portal opens on January 2)
I think they might be Hoosiers fans hoping Bama gets the doors blown off of them on 1/1 and KDB is all of a sudden available again as they hoped would happen last Friday night....
they have so much talent on that team. hopefully they can keep most of it, especially Bryce. If you aren't working the portal next week you simply have chosen to not make the portal very important for next season. And that might be the case.
Not a fan of this at all at this stage of his career.Odds on whittingham as new coach at UM are surging.

I'm still not convinced that it is but it's definitely a possibility.
Could definitely have an effect on the players. Especially if he's trying to take Harding and Beck with him.Ugh, still one of my favorites is Whitt but I just liked him forever at Utah and into the sunset.
And so much for my Utah play with the players sending him off with a resounding win.
I guess we'll have to disagree and see. He waited too long imo. Urban kicked ass there and moved on after few years to bigger jobs. It will come down to recruiting and will kids want to play for older coach. They obviously have the $ I think he'll do ok just not championship level. But I will admit it's pretty good hire at this late stage. He should be decent placeholder at least. As long as he's truly not going there to retire.i love it at this stage of his career.
such a solid head coach of Utah at a place that is not easy to recruit at vs the traditional in state power the last 50 years, BYU.
what the great Lavell Edwards built in Provo just 45 miles away was something very special in the state and for Whitt to take over for Urban Meyer and to keep it going for over 20 years was quite remarkable.
he is only 66yo and now he gets a shot to drive a Lambo in terms of CFB jobs.
i love this for him. rooting hard for him to do well in AA.
That's exactly what it isthis feels like a 2 year "bridge hire" to get the program back on the right track off the field more than on the field.
one last hurrah at age 66. he happened upon the job.I mentioned this weeks ago, just didn't think it would happen given how much Whit loves to ski and spend time with his family
I am too as long as he doesn't harm Utah out of spite on his way out of the door.one last hurrah at age 66. he happened upon the job.
i am rooting for him.
He was supposed to step away last year and Scalley be HC this year. After their turd season he said he wanted to coach another year. Utah almost lost Scalley.Asking the obvious as I'm sure you've addressed somewhere....why is he leaving if he still wants to continue coaching? Just a change of scenery? Sounds too convenient.
