Welcome to the wildest coaching carousel we've seen ...

I know the name is out there....but am I missing something with Jedd Fisch? A guy with a career losing record and only 2 winning seasons out of 5 seems about 5 rungs from the class of coach Michigan might want. Has more of a Brady/DickRod feel than a JH feel

you cannot drink at work unless you are the CEO, and even then it is frowned upon and just not the way to handle business in a "work environment".

NFL connections, close to Belichick is all I've ever heard which obviously helps with recruiting. Not sure he's ever done a big enough program long enough to know how great he is at actually coaching

^ they went 8-4 with three of the losses by 7 pts or less.

they could have easily gone 10-2.

seems like a good coach.

off the field extracurricular got him.

Poon remains undefeated against poon hounds
Idk on this one. He was getting divorced. Moved into hotel while getting divorced and dated the student during that time. According to what I read Ohio has no policy against it. Also dated a 41 yo woman. Drinking sounds moderate and known by everyone. They're going to sue and sounds to me like they have pretty good case. Guessing gets settled. Sounds like he's much more worried about his reputation vs the money. But sounds far from what Moore did. Still fucking stupid to even touch student or have alcohol at work.

You are dead solid right. This guy is a lot smarter than Sherrone Moore. He already has his lawyer out there putting the vague charges the school made into context.

I love the part where it was the husband of the school president who fired Smith that gave the whiskey to the coaching staff at an official university affair. Lawyers don't get the chance to use crushing testimony like that very often. There's no way they will get away with firing Smith for cause. That is going to collapse about as fast as LSU's attempt to fire Kelley for cause.

both are huge no-no's for a coach.

Kalen not leaving Bama anytime soon after the must-win pressure victory last night.

Dillingham just signed a new 5 year contract with ASU.

Kalen and Kenny are Not going to Michigan.

Where do they turn now ?

Whittingham or Brohm?

I mentioned this Whittingham possibility last week. It's starting to gain traction. I think he still wants to coach but he created the Utah problem when he said he didn't want to coach past 65 and they named Scalley HC in waiting.

I still don't see him moving to AA but he may agree to a two or three year stint, who knows?

If we're gona talk sleezy let's go back to sam Gilbert buying players for john wooden. We can go way back.

I don't think.....but not sure ha

That Wooden would send his assistants out of town to scout/recruit - then go to their house and bang their wife, and also have a cheerleader as a side piece..... nor hide rape, drug, and weapon accusations from the cops. He probably didn't often have beer iced down after practice either (for whomever). But one can never be sure....

ps. I'm not a UCLA fan - nor do I care about whatever TF is going on at Michigan/Ohio. Men in positions of power frequently abuse that power - FACT. We ain't a country of Eagle Scouts

Be hard to move in for a short stint at this point when the portal opens in 2 weeks, hard to see someone like him buying into basically a two-year rebuild most likely but never know if the money is there. That recruiting effort would take a ton of work at his age.

Men w power have been exploiting it since the beginning of time all around the world.

And water is wet.

Agreed but him for a short term gig is better than striking out on a Jedd Fisch, imho

I'm thinking from Kyle's perspective

That's a LOT of work to do at that age. Keeping guys, managing a portal on short notice at this point. Sounds like a headache if you can retire comfortably.

Minter of course.

I heard Fisch didn't pass their background check. Honestly Biff is probably the best choice of what is left.

Although, stay the f away from him, he's ours, but Jason Eck would be a home run. Although I'll say 90% he's the Wisconsin coach in 2027.

Couldn't agree more.

The average age of coaches is only going to go down. There is no reason why a lot of guys would want to deal with the NIL and having to in effect re recruit your own players every season.

Not even close to true at some companies, especially tech. But we regularly had beers at Ameritrade for a long time.

My buddy had a mini-fridge in his office as a loan officer for Capital One back in the day. You only got offices as LOs if you were top producers, what went on in them was up to you as long as you produced.

Loans is the wild wild west. This is do know.

I do agree although that was in KC. Would call me out the blue from his office with a Maker's and possibly other enhancements middle of the day for no reason

just fyi, not saying it matters or not, but per Polymarket, Jedd Fisch is again the leading candidate to become UM head coach, but no one listed is above 15% so no one a clear frontrunner.
