Just a gut that it's 50 / 50 on him being the coach next season. Good deal of scuttle relating to off-the-field things plus a lack of willingness to ditch his play calling and become a full-time head coach.

Somebody said 'never trust a person who doesn't drink' or similar. I know some people that don't drink, or they have one drink, but they don't really drink. I like them fine, but it is different.
 
I be drinking too, if I was married to her. She seems like she definitely wears the pants in that relationship.

Rumors with an alcoholic / recovering alcoholic, whether it be at Texas or in prior coaching situations, are inescapable. It's the baggage you inherit when that takes over one's life. The other stuff hasn't surfaced until pretty recently or about when Russini's piece dropped in late October. No coincidence with the timing of that.

I don't know if Sarkisian will keep coaching at Texas or not. Probably will. Some choppy waters right now. A coach just doesn't issue a statement during a coaches media call, out on nowhere, for nothing. Whether or not Bianco tried to convince him otherwise, who knows. The statement was issued as Sarkisian felt it was warranted.

We'll see.

I wasn't even referring to the alcohol it was more rumors of his relationships with prostitues but who knows if these things are true.

Jeff Banks is the ST coach at Texas. His wife (GF?) is a former stripper with the stage name "Pole Assassin." A few years ago she went viral because her pet monkey, who may or may not have been part of her work routine, attacked some neighborhood kids at Halloween.

I actually followed her on IG when she was just a stripper living in Alabama.
She is pretty talented lol. She had a video go viral of her on the pole

There is history.

(2021) A couple has sued Texas assistant football coach Jeff Banks and his girlfriend, Danielle Thomas, saying Thomas' monkey bit their child in the backyard of Banks' house on Halloween night.

According to the lawsuit, the child, identified as C.C., was trick-or-treating with two friends on Halloween and was invited to attend a haunted house. The lawsuit says that, after completing the haunted house, the child and his friends were taken to a monkey that Thomas kept in the backyard. According to the complaint, the child was told the monkey was trained to give high-fives.

"Instead of giving a high five, Danielle Thomas's monkey aggressively bit down on C.C.'s hand and refused to let go," says the lawsuit, a copy of which was obtained by ESPN on Saturday. "C.C. was forced to manually pry the monkey's jaw open. There was so much blood that C.C. was unable to see the full extent of the injury."

Franklin could have waited a few weeks after other teams started announcing their new coaches, having his name mentioned, etc and tried to squeeze more $$$ out of Penn St but he agreed early.

He was making $8.5M/yr at Penn St and left $40M on the table (about the amount he will be making at VT) from Penn St in his negotiated buyout.

Seems like a pretty motivated coach based on what he gave up and agreed to in terms of money.

A few months ago, VT increased their athletic budget by $229M over the next 4 years, so it appears that Franklin was happy with the amount of money that he would have for the program.

By agreeing early, there is a big home game this weekend in Blacksburg to bring in recruits, which is kinda unheard of for a new coach.

Its gonna be a long 8 days. The Ole Miss AD post meeting announcement non announcement seems to add at least some credibility to all the rumors here locally. Supposedly, a documentary will be needed following all the events that have been and continue to go on behind the scenes. At this point not getting Lane will be a giant disappointment. I just read the past several days of posts and we can agree to disagree. Lane is 50 years old. To not acknowledge his maturity now vs Tennessee (2009) and onward is unfair IMO. We shall see how this shakes out. The Texas and Texas A&M resource comments were true but the results have been pathetic leading into this season. Im rooting for A&M to finally win something, anything to justify their superiority complex. We may be delusional but we have been there before and will be again maybe sooner than most hope. Lane at LSU could cement his legacy and make a run at a potential dynasty. How can anyone fault someone with drive and a desire to be amongst the best. I honestly believe Saban has provided counsel and the story will unfold beautifully. I am a glutton for punishment. GEAUX TIGERS!

There are definitely some faction of the fan base that doesn’t like this move….

Fisch was isnt even in the Top 10 on Robinhood. I bought contracts for $47 To win $100 last night. They are currently worry $72. Got as high as $89 today. 2nd highest is Drink at

For the record, LSU botches these hires regularly. Loose lips sink ships. Hopefully, that doesn't pertain to the Lane Train!
The Ole Miss AD helped turn this carnival into a 3 Ring Circus.

I would’ve loved to be a fly on the wall for the meeting with Kiffin, Sexton and Ole Miss AD Carter. Who knows what was really said? There are schools of thought that Lane is going to sign an extension to stay at Ole Miss next Saturday and is purposely trying to sabotage Florida and LSU by delaying everything for everyone. I don’t believe that one bit. Gun to head I believe he’s going to Baton Rouge. The sad thing is that Carter doesn’t have the balls to just suspend Kiffin with pay and turn it over to Golding (a very capable DC) and Weis (who may not really be calling the plays). You have to do something though if you’re Keith Carter - you can’t fire him because of the buyout, but goddamn don’t let this narcissistic snake hold the program hostage. He’s not your friend Keith - I don’t care how many hot yoga sessions you went to together. Good lord enough is enough!
 
And for all that is why some here don’t like it.
Those that don’t, don’t write the checks as big.

I think Lane will do well here and win a Natty.

I'm curious if some LSU fans don't want Lane exactly who do they want. I'd like to see him stay at Ole Miss but realize loyalty is not a common commodity amongst coaches.

Same. I think if LSU were smart and could get all the powers that be on the same page, he should be headed there. They'd better get Kiffin because I'm not sure who on their list after that approaches Sumrall's potential (and honestly, I think I might prefer Sumrall to Lane in a world where winning the press conference isn't a concern).
