Bastia has played the last 2 games with 10 men and what happened? They still win. They won 1-0 against Reims playing with 10 men for 80mins of the match. They beat Libourne 4-2 on the road playing the last 15mins down a man but still managed to win by 2 goals. Brest on the other hand are still looking for their 1st win of the season. It won't happen here especially on the road where Brest last season were 3-8-8 and lost 4-1 to Bastia on the road. Look for a similar result today.

Strongest team in France Lyon open their first home game of the league season today. They came out victorious on the road last week beating Nantes convincingly 3-1 with a lot of second stringers. This time, Houillier will field a strong XI in hopes to get the home crowd excited. Lyon have arguably the best and most consistant attack in Ligue 1. Fred and Carew have been such an underrated forward pair in Europe. Last season, Lyon were 13-4-2 scoring 40 allowing 18 at home. In the last 4 seasons, 76 home matches played, Lyon have lost only 7 of them!!! That is a ridiculous statistic that cannot be over looked at.

Swansea scored the most goals last season scoring 78 but conceeded quite a fair share, 55. They've already played 2 matches this season both have gone over 2.5 They are still looking for their first win of the season and so are Oldham who have yet to score a freaking goal. It can be looked at as risky but when you got 2 desperate squads it often leads up to a rather open match. Garry Monk, Swansea's influential captain and rock in the defense is out of this match. Big blow for the Swan's defense which should leak today.

Probably my favorite bet in the morning. Hamburg were such a quality squad last season and they were the first team to defeat Bayern Munchen. In fact they gave Munchen a fuss in both games last season. They have a similar squad to last season only letting defender Daniel Van Buyten leave but instead they notched up one of the most prized central defenders in Europe, Vincent Kompany. This is an excellent midfield lead by the young Rafael Van Der Vaart. When this kid is healthy, his potential is brilliant. Do you want to know how Arminia fairs on the road? Last season they were 2-5-10 scoring only 14 times allowing 32 goals in the process. Hmmm i smell emphatic win for the home side.

These are just one of the plays that make me say...what the hell was i thinking? Lol. Going with past history last 4 meetings have gone over 2.5 However both squads are defensively sound, 1860 have made some defensive adjustment in the offseason, though their preseason results didn't suggest it. Gruether Furth on the other hand seemed to focus more on defense in their 3 warmups. Winning 1 and drawing 2 while conceeding 3 goals in the process and scoring 4. Taking my chance in this one.
