Week 7 SEC Discussion

Circa opened:

Ole (-14)
Bama (-8)
UGA (-37)
UF (-3) Hammertime (I'll be there, baby.)
UK (+3)

Arkansas (+2) @BYU
Circa got the game correct UF/LSU

This one should be nasty nasty. Expect personal fouls. This game you probably want ejections…Billy’s GOTY. Real SEC roadie here BK…wonder how the locker room is?

If Bryce does not play I can't see how Bama scores enough points.
I think you're right. I don't know that Milroe can keep our offense on the field consistently enough. Even though our defense matches up well against that offense, they will wear down if we go 3 and out a bunch. That said, Tennessee's defense let Anthony Richardson and UF put up 600 yards of offense, so there's still hope. But I fully expect Bryce to play. He could've played last night if Saban had let him

The Last time Tennessee and Alabama played with both teams undefeated was 1989.

Gary Hollingsworth, who started this season as Alabama's backup quarterback, and Siran Stacy, a tailback who played junior college football last year, ripped Tennessee's defense apart today in a Southeastern Conference battle of previously unbeaten teams.

Hollingsworth, with 379 yards and 3 touchdowns passing, and Stacy, with 283 yards on offense and 4 touchdowns, made the difference as Alabama won a wild affair, 47-30

Here's some more history you'll like:

Vols were just 7-6 last year, but that bodes well for them. Since 1989, there have been 10 undefeated home dogs that are 6-0 or better (after winning fewer than 10 games the previous year) facing an undefeated visitor. The home dog is 10-0 ATS.

And 10-0 straight up.

This record includes Auburn over Florida in 1993, Alabama over Auburn in 1994, and OU over Nebraska in 2000. The most recent game was Michigan State over Michigan last year.

I’ll be there. Bought tickets back in May. Could sell them for a ton but I’d rather be there for this one.
I would guess this ticket will be by far the toughest, most-expensive ticket in college football this season, even with that huge seating capacity. I think you'll be celebrating a victory with 100,000 of your closest friends.

This is easily the most expensive regular season TN ticket possibly in history. Got my lower levels for under $200 a ticket. Lowest I’ve seen priced today is $500 for a lower level ticket. Hope you are right about seeing a victory.

This record includes Auburn over Florida in 1993, Alabama over Auburn in 1994, and OU over Nebraska in 2000. The most recent game was Michigan State over Michigan last year.
Those ten home dogs also included two teams that had lost 7 straight to their opponents: OU in 2000 (featuring none other than Josh Heupel at QB), which had lost 7 straight to Nebraska (including 69-7 and 73-21 in the two most-recent games in 1997 and 1996), and Mizzou in 2010, which had lost 7 straight to OU (including a 62-21 loss in the most recent matchup in 2008).

In 2006, Rutgers beat Louisville 28-25 despite having lost to UL 56-5 the previous year (their only prior matchup since 1986).

So long stretches of futility and recent blowout losses haven't stopped these home dogs in the past.

I have a friend that has 15 seats and they are Prime sections, he had 6 listed for $600 during the LSU gm, he tried to log on and raise to $800 but they were goone....

If you are an Old Bama Fan, YOU know what this game means.
These 2 teams are the OG's of Southern Football, the SEC

I do not care what happens when this conference reshapes YOU DO NOT TOUCH THIS GAME.

This stays. It's the 3rd Saturday of October

I know non-conference schedules are always a hot topic. Alabama announced a home and home with Minnesota today. I know y'all will be sad the trip there isn't in November. Here is what Alabama has scheduled non-conference so far:

Tennessee starting safety and team captain arrested for felony assault. No way he plays, right?
There is a lot more to the story than the warrant states.
My thought is he will play.
This will be dismissed or dropped to a misdemeanor

It was only 1 punch. knocked 2 of his teeth out. University may pay for dental care..... or Haslam will

That’s one that should stay amongst others.

That date has ruled the SEC for a long time for better or worse

My maternal grandfather was a Tennessee grad and huge Vol. And for that reason, I didn't grow up hating Tennessee the way most Alabama fans did. We hated Florida and AU mostly. Funny as I get older, I care less and less about the other teams. Maybe that's a product of having had Saban the last 15 years moreso than my maturity level. Check back 5 years after Saban's gone lol

This is great...

Neutral games seem to be nil...

Now, how many of these actually get played? With everything changing I would think many of these will be up in the air. I say that thinking that 9 conference games is possible, right?

I think this scheduling is in anticipation of the 9 game conference schedule, but mostly a 12 team (or more) playoff. I think it may be harder, and more expensive, to buy out of a home and home, because you are losing that revenue, but yeah there's no way to predict what the landscape will look like in 10 years. But at least the games are on the books for now
