Week 7 M*A*S*H Report: Colts Say „T.Y.“ for Hilton’s Health
In Week 7, the Colts are thankful for their improving injury situation. But other teams, like the Chiefs, Jets, and Redskins, won’t be so happy.
Bills vs Colts
The Colts had been decimated with several injuries, but things are turning around. T.Y. Hilton, Luck’s favorite target, is finally healthy, as is the offensive line. In four games, Hilton had been targeted 38 times. The Colts were 2-1 ATS when Hilton played the entire game and 0-3 ATS when he did not.
Titans vs Chargers
The Titans are celebrating the return of key run-stopping linebacker Wesley Woodyard. However, their other two starting linebackers will be absent and both starting safeties are listed as ‚questionable.‘
Bengals vs Chiefs
Two crucial pieces for Kansas City’s defense, linebacker Justin Houston and safety Eric Berry, will be absent. The Chiefs surrendered 43 points in New England in their first game without both pieces. The Chiefs’ defense is in dire need of help. It ranks 27th in opposing yards per pass attempt and dead-last in opposing yards per rush. The Bengals bring a lot of healthy pieces on offense and look primed to stay within the seven-point spread.
49ers vs Rams
The 49ers will try to halt one of the NFL’s top passing attacks with a cornerback who is listed as ‚doubtful‘ and three other corners who are listed as ‚questionable.‘ San Francisco ranks 20th in yards per opposing pass attempt and needs every healthy player. The Rams will miss receiver Cooper Kupp but its top two, Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks, each have over 500 receiving yards so far and are good to go.
Vikings vs Jets
The Vikings look tempting on the NFL odds board at -3.5 in New York. Their potent pass attack should benefit from injuries to Jets safety Marcus Maye and corner Buster Skrine. Plus, Trumaine Johnson is listed as ‚doubtful.‘ Last week, Andrew Luck threw a season-high four touchdowns in 43 pass attempts against this Jets secondary.
Cowboys vs Redskins
Mixed news for Dallas. Run-stopping linebacker Sean Lee has practiced all week, is determined to play against the rival Skins, and he will play. Dallas had been 1-7 SU without him, but its backup linebackers stepped up in his absence. They helped limit Jacksonville to seven points last week. The bad news for Dallas is that its big-play receiver, Tavon Austin, is listed as ‚out.‘ He leads the Cowboys with 18.6 yards per reception. Dallas will try to reach 20 points on the road for the first time in what will be four tries. Washington’s issues at wide receiver are worse. Jamison Crowder won’t play and Paul Richardson is listed as ‚doubtful‘ after missing the whole week of practice. Richardson and Crowder both lead Washington receivers in receptions and yards.
Browns vs Buccaneers
Both teams will miss a couple of important defenders. Tampa Bay will miss Gerald McCoy and Vinny Curry from the defensive line. Cleveland just dealt its leading running back, Carlos Hyde, to Jacksonville. So it will be interesting to see if rookie Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson take advantage of their new opportunities. For Cleveland, cornerback E.J. Gaines and linebacker Joe Schobert will sit out. Schobert is Cleveland’s leading tackler. Cleveland can’t afford to lose any pieces of its secondary, which got torched by Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers on several deep passes en route to a 38-14 loss last week.
Patriots vs Bears
New England right tackle Marcus Cannon will not play. The Patriots will need a lot of help against Chicago's superstar defensive end Khalil Mack.

Brock Osweiler will get another start in place of injured quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Last week, the veteran Osweiler threw for 380 yards in a 31-28 win at home against a Chicago defense that was clearly gassed by the south Florida heat. In better news, crucial pass rusher Cameron Wake and starting cornerback Bobby McCain, could play.
Saints at Ravens
The timing couldn’t be worse for New Orleans. Against a defensive line that just achieved an insane 11 sacks against Tennessee, the Saints will miss guard Andrus Peat, and could miss fellow linemen Jermon Bushrod and Larry Warford. The latter two are listed as ‚questionable.‘
