Week 18 Actives/Resting

So if TB wins Sat then NO/ATL is a meaningful game. Interesting. NO playing on momentum and ATL coming off a win of the season type last night.

Phil and Chi both win Chi gets the 2 and plays GB and Phil would end up getting either SF or Rams. So big advtg to get the 2 and they have it set up so they both play at the same time. Interesting that Phil opened at 13 at BOL on Sunday afternoon and a half hour later the line was down to 7.5. Phil in a position where they have to play hard vs. the Skins at least in 1h while scoreboard watching Chi/Det gm. Mariota a stretch to play for Skins and looks like it will be Johnson. I would expect a good effort from Eagles in 1h so at -3.5 that might be a consideration despite watching their abysmal offense in 2h vs. Buff.

Philly resting Hurts and other starters. Using this as a bye week.

Apparently not.
Hurts and the majority of the Eagles' key starters are expected to rest during Sunday's regular-season finale against the Commanders, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Spin: Philadelphia has already clinched at least the No. 3 seed in the NFC playoffs. Though the team could secure the No. 2 seed by both earning a victory over Washington in Week 18 and having the Bears lose to the Lions, it appears head coach Nick Sirianni has decided that the benefits of allowing his starters an additional week to get healthy for the playoffs outweigh the allure of playing for a potential seeding bump. As such, Hurts will wrap the 2025 regular season having completed 294 of 454 passes for 3,224 yards and a career-high 25 passing touchdowns, to go with six interceptions, across 16 appearances. He also carried the ball 105 times for 421 yards and eight touchdowns, substantially lower rushing production than his prior four seasons, while fumbling eight times (four lost).

This is new for McVay, right? Historically, I thought he always rested his players. I think it’s the right decision to play them at least a half.
And if Niners win and Rams are locked into 6 seed …does the story change?

I don't think he can get the taste out of his mouth soon enough when it comes to these last 2 putrid games.

But everyone thought the same coming off the Seattle meltdown then the team slept walk through much of the Falcons game.

The Jets decided to shut it down once Mendoza was out of range. The fans have to endure the worst coach ever along with the biggest idiot owner next season guaranteed and our consolation prize is Dante Moore please just move the team to London already.

He's about as much of a consolation prize as Zach Wilson was when the Jets won games at the end of the season and missed out on Lawrence though I sadly admit that I was in favor of picking him.
Much different player than Zack Wilson man.

I've watched him for a solid 7 years now going back to high school.

Lessons were learned (taking a bid to UCLA) and being thrown in too early. He sat, matured and did this the right way.

Super talented.

Donte isn’t a bust. But his ceiling is maybe Stroud? Being slim/slender and liking to run a lot probably doesn’t bode well throwing to those practice squad talent guys on the Jets.

Broncos coming off a mini bye to play Trey Lance and backups for a bye. Feel you’re less likely to pull off the gas knowing it is for a bye and it’s your last rehearsal.

In mop up duty he was 3/8 at Jax. Looked okay scrambling vs 4th stringers in the pre season but this should be a complete blowout.

Sean isn’t a dummy. Play at Carolina with mini revenge as a 9 point favorite (guess) or go to Philly in the cold as a FG dog.

9ers stinker really changed the landscape. Rams should make it to the SB, rather easily too.
Rather easily?

Seeding holds they are playing a tough game round #2 in Seattle.

Ideally SF or GB pulls an upset next weekend so we receive our rightful NFC championship game.

I think he's a lot closer to Fields than Stroud but we may find out soon enough unless Phil Knight pays him enough to stay at Oregon one more year.

If Adams is back the Rams blow out Sam (again). I was on Seattle 2 weeks ago and they stand no chance. It’s about as easy a path as one can get if you’re playing 3 road games.

Rams need to first get right before they book their flight to Santa Clara. The meltdown at Seattle was bad. That catatonic thing Monday night, at least for the 1H, was odd. I'm assuming they get right today and will going forward but some weirdness from them of late.

Rams aren't winning in Seattle.

Hope not since I have a awesome Seattle sb future I played before season but it not like they couldn’t have won in Seattle last time, you could even argue not only were they dominating that gm the 2 point for Seattle to win in ot was the most redic thing I ever saw.
