Week 17 Discussion Thread

Really impressed with Nix last night. The Chiefs D didn't lay down and he made some really big plays at really big moments, with his arm and legs.

I think the Hou/LAC game goes over. Hard to see a scenario where both teams do not get to 20.

Both hitting 20 really my only fear for the under. Neither offense very good in the red zone, don’t think either gonna have a lot of success thru the air against 2 really good pass rushes and pretty bad oline’s (both qb passing props lower than usual). Think there a good chance we see a bunch of fgs and not many tds. Kinda thinking bout under 4.5 tds as that could easily still cash if they both get to 20, they get 5 tds it most likely going over anyways. Imo the passing td props and td props prices scream not a lot of tds.

You can get both teams over 19.5 at +194, that’s interesting. jets and Browns games the only 2 with fatter odds cause obviously nobody expects those teams to score 20!

gotta pay -189 for hou and -162 for chargers but feel like both teams to go over 1.5 fgs incredibly likely.

Only thing I’ve actually played so far is Houston been back and forth on total cause I mostly like the under just really scared of that 20-20..

Angle to look at if you're caught up on the total for me would be the dome team v dome team which I believe goes over at a significant rate. But you also have potential non-division teams playing that could meet up in the playoffs in the next month, another angle. Lots going on in this one outside the x and o stuff. Herbert has adjusted to the OL injuries from what I've seen lately. CJ hasn't looked so great, they're riding the defense. Both kickers will likely be good from inside 60.

Outside Dallas trash d it’s not like chargers offense has been very good the last 5-6 weeks. Think both teams for most part win with their defenses and qb’s making enough plays. If ya don’t mind the juice I think it damn near a stone cold lock both teams go over 1.5 fgs,

Josh Johnson was good vs that Dallas D.

Dallas basically just failed to hold serve a couple of times in that game and the score got away.

You’re spot on with this offense struggling. JH was pretty bad vs Philly and Texans a notch above on offense.

He won a natty and was a cunt hair away from winning sb with kapernic! I understand why folks outside his fan bases wouldn’t like him but man he did pretty good job both those places!!
You've got to be out of your mind to not like Jim Harbaugh as a coach and its why I'm convinced its all an act.

He had an all time defense in SF. Like 2000 Ravens. His offense was always dead last in the red zone and that was his whole creation the entire Kap thing. He didn’t need to throw the ball 3 times in a row from the 2 also in that SB.

That ship at UM was the result of everyone else being down and again he had by far the best defense. He also likely knew every play that the offense was running.

He couldn’t beat Pete despite having a way better team in SF.

Don’t get me wrong he’d be a great coach for your Jets. He can certainly turn around a dumpster fire. I just think he picks his spots extremely well.
I just find it funny seeing criticism of a coach like Harbaugh when I've had to endure trash every year with the Jets.

Oh don’t get me wrong this isn’t a critique to that level. I’m just a Ryans fan and if the 9ers needed one of those 2 I’d take Ryans.

I'll admit as good a coach as Harbaugh is I despise defensive minded coaches and really they are the only two I'd consider if I was hiring a coach.

This Raiders vs Giants game is fascinating in that both teams are trying to out tank each other.

At UM he definitely gave lots of signs of greatness. There were so many signs that you could count on him to win games. Can‘t forget his success against Ohio State as another such sign

falcons 6-9 su and 8-7 ats
scoring 9 or fewer 1H: 1-6 su and ats
scoring 14 or more 1H: 5-3 su and 7-1 ats

rams have played nfc south 3x this season. scored 20,31,21 1H. scored 14,3,7 2H. shut out both saints and bucs 2H. got out fast in all three and coasted 2H *lost to carolina that way

1h over for me

i think if they win out they get 5 seed (?) idk if this coach worries too much about seeding though unless it's 1st
Likely means the difference between playing at Chicago or at Carolina/Tampa which I'm not sure there's a ton of difference when it's playoff time. Rams should handle either but potential weather in Chicago I guess. Think if Philly wins next week they are the 2 seed

So they would automatically slot in above loser of Sea/SF if they win tonight and against Arizona? Hmm

Everyone wants that bye in warm weather vs the south winner.

Maybe but I didn't even know if they could get it by winning out and I know McVey never has played that way in the past

And Carolina is no guarantee of warm weather anyway. Rams and over are very crazy public picks and it's hard to argue against either tonight which means the Rams will probably score 12 points

over..unless rams hold atlanta to 10 points or something. extra time and rest to prep. 2H shutout wouldn't be unheard of imo
hard to argue against either
they've held 9 teams to 20 or fewer
and five times allowed 26 or more

It was pretty impressive what he did at Stanford too. I think if chargers oline wasn’t so beat up we be talking bout them as one the sb favorites, as is I think they could def go to New England and knock them off if that the round 1 matchup, pats don’t really have the pass rush to expose them like Houston did.
