As many would notice when WMU plays top tier opponents (MAC - Ball State, Buffalo, Toledo ; NCAAF - Iowa, NW), they tend to run the ball more to control the clock and allow their defenses to get breathers as all 3 of those MAC teams (except Buffalo as they do no huddle and huddle offenses) they tire out the opponent's defenses with no huddle spread option plays.
