Week 14 Discussion Thread

I am in shock that the Lions are only -3.
Battered club right now.

And yes, that line indicates Dallas is favored ever so slightly on a neutral field.

And yes, this is basically a playoff game for Detroit. Lose and they are basically eliminated.

(Detroit needs to go 4-1 to have a chance -- Rams at Sofi on deck).

Let's see the updates on injuries. This was yesterday...

You all have seen the issue with this team on offense -- it's the OL. They are subpar with the injuries.

Saint injury huge, obviously.

The top two TEs are OUT.

Terrion Arnold went to the IR. Branch is banged up. The secondary will be facing an ELITE pass offense.

Tough game tonight. Need to play ball control and RUN THE DAMN BALL!

Pretty interesting.

He's winning games though!!

I said before that draft my #1 was Drake Maye and so far that's looking correct.

Some big games coming up for Caleb, let's see how he does in December!

I understand this is a must win for Detroit. I'm sure Dallas feels the same. I have stopping putting too much thought into "Must Win Games" What. All of a sudden everyone is going to play 100% better because it's a must win? I think Dallas is a play here, just my two cents.

I agree.

I'm just pointing out the obvious.

Some might argue there is line value with Detroit?

Others may argue with the current injuries that this is spot on or even a little soft.

I understand there are injuries, lots of teams are banged up. (check out Commanders last Sunday night).

There is line value because Dallas won 2 games against teams that are perceived as really good (but both have major warts). There is not way in hell this line should be 3, IMO. Dallas has a very good offense so I'm sure they will get some points, but they are going to give up a ton as well.

Agreed on this.

The Dallas defense was horrendous until the Raiders game.

VEGAS OL is brutal and they couldn't take advantage of that defense.

The next week, Philly moved the ball very well to the tune of 21 quick points. But, then Dallas controlled the ball quite a bit for the next quarter plus and made a heckuva comeback.

KC offense isn't exactly the greatest this year -- 370 yards and 28 points.

Detroit should score tonight... Although I'll feel better if we have some of these injured guys back to help.

idk with La Porta and now St Brown just seems Detroit too beat up. Dallas is better on D, question is how much so. With Williams and other 2 tackles Dallas might handle Detroit running. Again so many ? with the injuries. Im probably just going to watch.

Thursday night football is tough especially late in the season...should be a good game either way.Goff looked horrible against packers with no st brown and Laporta..Cowboys are rolling at the moment 😳

Lions need to run the ball a lot tonight and keep possession. Let the offense help out the defense.

Steelers have allowed 178 points in the 3Q+4Q this season (14.8 per game). Only the Bengals 194 have allowed more (16.2 per game)

Jayden Daniels confirmed as the starter Sunday in Minny. Game is OTB currently.

I've been a fan of this organization my whole life. Been around for the glory days when Gibbs and Jack Kent Cooke was running the show, Theismann/Riggins was a little before my time, and vividly remember the RGIII debacle.

Given that as context bringing Daniels back this year is the second dumbest decision this organization has made ever made. With the first being Daniel Snyder and I don't think anything will ever top that. I hope bringing him back doesn't end in disaster, but I have no confidence it won't. WTF are we doing? 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

100% agree Trey. Also a lifelong Skins fan, but I very much remember the Riggins, Theismann, Monk, DG28, Hogs and Smurfs. When Snyder took over I filed for divorce from the team. When he sold, I asked for remarriage.
Cannot understand for the life of me why they would bring him back behind a makeshift, old as fuck O-Line with no upside for the year. JD5 is your future; nothing good can come of bringing him back now. I parented my kids to evaluate their decisions in life by gauging risk vs reward and make the smart decisions with that in mind. What on earth is the reward for the organization by bringing him back at 3-9?

Let Mariota finish out the year and maybe you finish 3-14 and get yourself a top 5-7 draft pick in 2026

Loved DG, The Posse (Gary Clark was my favorite receiver), The Hogs. Man what a time. I tried to divorce them and couldn’t. I knew they were abusive but I just kept running back. Lol

I just don’t get it at all. There’s zero reward, if less than zero was a thing that’s what this is. It’s a lose lose lose situation. Win a game or two and it worsens your draft pick (L), risk further injury but he makes it though healthy (still an L cause the risk isn’t worth whatever reward they see), and the biggest L of all is getting injured again.

I get injuries are a part of it and it could just as easily happen in week 1 as it could in week 14. But come on man use some damn common sense here. Season is lost even if they win out so I’m really not sure what the thinking is here

I know it was many years ago, but you'd THINK they learned their lesson by throwing a hobbled RG3 out there...

Wow, this is quite surprising.

I thought that was basically an ending to his season.

Yeah well for a competent/smart organization it probably is. But this is the Redskins we’re talking about.

You wouldn’t think you’d want your already injured several time franchise quarterbacks return to the field be against a team who blitzes the most in the NFL and in a game where it literally doesn’t matter if they win or lose. But what the hell do I know

He has been pretty good on 3rd down and 4th qrtrs tho, and he doesn’t turn it over or take many sacks anymore. That goes a pretty long way when you have the best rushing attack in the league! Everyone in nfc better hope bears fall off cause nobody wants to go to soldier field and face that rushing attack in January.

Not even sure it matters how good Caleb becomes still think you were right bout maye, he a lock to be one best qb’s in game for next decade.

how you feel bout your jags @VirginiaCavs ? I’m all in on this colts demise, honestly kinda shocked jags home dogs, they have beaten good teams at home.
Can‘t say I understand how Jags are 8-4 with no pass defense and so many personnel problems on offense. But yeah Colts in decline and I don‘t think their O matches up well against a team with solid run defense

Yea I don’t exactly trust jags it def more about my continued belief colts were a bit fugazi, with jones not having his legs it makes the offense way more limited, I don’t think even before the fall off colts run game was as dominant on the road. One thing I do like bout jags is I thought it was a really good move going and getting meyers, he consistently solid which they needed cause you never really know wtf Thomas gonna do week to week.

I kinda like the over, both teams getting to 20 doesn’t seem unreasonable.
eagles eclipsing 17 seems unlikely to me. because that total is public af and it hasn't moved. twenty is the chargers magic number. when they get 20 them and harbaugh they go 18-2. when they don't get 20 they go 1-9. if the over hits it's because bolts score 30+

also harbaugh and them when the total is 42 or less they go 9-2 su and ats. average 13.5 points allowed those games

would it shock if philly come out after 2 consecutive losses and mash? no nobody would blame you for betting them. i just like what harbaugh has done when he didn't have to travel that week and I like what he has done at night. and I also look at philly last two night games. and i also wonder if philly want to try and compete tonight with the way how weak their division is gonna be to win it 🤷‍♀️ idk though man sometimes my predictions get fucked up and i lose and betting teams to score under 20 points sucks. that sweat sucks. but i wanna say chargers 25-10. maybe even chargers 34-10 or something like that. maybe i just showed everyone my ass just now and eagles win but I'm on bolts and am not that great when i write shit up

The Chargers tt ov 19.5 appealing also. I just kinda expect it to be close but Philly offense sputtering wouldn’t shock me, their play calling is abysmal! I think the fact eagles don’t have much to worry bout far as the div has me lean more to a chance we see offense, if both teams were desperate I’d prob be more scared it looked like the gb or lions games.

I think both offenses struggle mightily

Non-mobile Herbert is a recipe for disaster against this front and Iggs simply look lost on offense but wouldn't bet against them with 9 days off and off two losses

Shit game I think

it was -148 when I bought it last night. looking to ladder it with a 30.5 or 33.5. thinking break even worst case. three game sample size is gonna get me in trouble now. but when harbaugh had b2b home games they scored 34,34,37 in that second game so I'm thinking those were very similar, uncommon results in that one very specific situation all three of those were night games too

for the o-line, last week was the 8th offensive line combo for the bolts this season. that's been their achilles all season. harbaugh gave the offensive line the game ball after last weeks game so that 19.5 seems right to me especially with that magic number they hit in their wins

Course I did go a perfect 0-4 on unders yesterday

lol. Sounds like my props.. it could be total offensive shit fest for real, I dunno why I think it gets over honestly, just do.
