I don't want to bias you so I won't mention what I am considering but can I get your thoughts on the Toledo at Kent State game?

Yea, I love BG if he can't go. I haven't found anything solid yet. Ankle injury, so who knows. You really can't line the game without knowing this....

For what its worth, i do remember Kato hobbling around on a bad ankle and playing effectively last year....possibly in the MAC title game where Akron had a miracle cover...

A couple quick thoughts....I'm probably a little gunshy on Kent after last week. I thought their defense would be more competitive especially vs the run against Buffalo.

Toledos offense you know you're going to get...the MACs best WR group, good QB play (Guadagni better because he's a dual threat but Peters is fine in the pocket) and a good enough run game with Tompkins able to break long plays. OL is solid.

How much is Kent gonna slow that down? Toledo beating up on the bad MAC teams... 52 vs BG, 51 vs. Western, 45 vs. Ball. I think they go up and down the field in this one.

Barrett is probably a little better than he showed last week, the wind was taking his balls. They can probably gash the Rockets a little and play keep away with that big physical back they have....

Call it 38-20 Toledo...

Maryland has lost to all the good Big 10 teams by wide margins...Michigan by 21, MSU by 21, Iowa by 23. They have wins against Illinois, Rutgers and Minny....4 Big Ten wins among them.

Given how OSU's offense has played, I don't think this is a trap game. Dwayne comes home to Maryland, I think he gets showcased by Day...he's going pro so this is last chance to pile up yards before the tough games start...they need to get his head right before TTUN

OSU run D shut down MSU, I don't see why they can't shut down Md. Back-up Pilgrim may be going and he really can't pass.

It's a dogshit game, but IF you made me bet it....I guess I would take the points. Western hasn't been the same since the QB Wassink got hurt, they just got smoked at home by the Bobcats. Neither line can block, both are playing back-up QBs...Ball St probably has slightly better running game...senior night at home for the Cards. Give me the points.

But, honestly, I wouldn't bet this game unless you made me.

Buffalo 6 of 8 games this year with 35 or more points when 83 is playing. Bobcats D has looked better of late but against subpar offenses...no rain, no wind in forecast

Can't believe this line moved to Ohio -3....i haven't done anything yet. Still a bit heart broken about my busted up +300 win the MAC future. Feels like it would be tough to get the Ohio kids to buy in that they still have a shot at the division and put out a max effort.

Hard not to hit the Bulls +3 or ML

Everyone is betting Ohio like it’s free money. I just don’t get it. Short of some massive suspensions, this line move makes no sense to me.
I guess we’ll see who is right.
 
I don't get it either Marsski. I would have taken Buffalo at -1x but it was already +3 by the time I got around to betting it. Reminds me of Georgia Tech last week when they went from -4 to pick because the smart money was all on Miami. Didn't make sense then and this doesn't make sense either.

I think it is tough to play the meaningless game thing. Sure Buffalo doesn't need this game and can just worry about next week, but good teams, coaches and players want to win when they play games. We could say the game is meaningless for Ohio as well since they can't control their fate. Ohio was just the better team in the 1st H.

I don't think Leipold is taking a game for granted assuming they can just win next week instead.
 
Well, shows how much I know. I took a Buffalo.Miami parlay and was only concerned about the Miami half.

A good lesson for me--don't bet on teams when I have only surface knowledge about them.
 
1. My post was ill placed. It belonged in my thread. Didnt mean to make a negative post in Mars thread. I made the same bet and saw it the same way.
2. Always hindsight when you see a team is flat to try and figure out why
3. Maybe ohio just matches up well. It is the Army game all over again.
4. Jackson just having a bad game
 
It's fine, VK. I know you aren't trolling me. A good year (for me) is when you hit 60%, that means you lose a lot. I don't think it was something I missed in this game, I think it just happened. Buffalo is +9 in turnovers and has 3 in the first half. You can't cap that.

I take pride in my MAC picks, but It's a tough league because the defenses are all generally so shitty, and the drop-off from one guy to another can be steep.
 
I'm going to have to pay a lot more attention to teams clinching a division title. I bet that parlay ignorant of the fact the Buffalo and NIU both had clinched a playoff slot.

Several teams, including Northwestern, are in that same position this week.

Buffalo has not clinched a playoff slot. They play BG next week and have to win.

I'm about 30 minutes from Kent. Been raining. Sidewalk and driveways were iced over this morning. Still raining, will get a little warmer, High about 34, but looks like snow later.
