Week 12 NFL M*A*S*H Report: Packers Lead Teams With Little to Be Thankful for

As Week 12 approaches, some teams are making a serious playoff push while other teams are trying to stay relevant. The Eagles and Packers are two teams whose chances will be limited by injury.

Giants at Eagles

Philadelphia’s secondary, which was regarded as shaky even before the season began, will likely miss its top five cornerbacks. The top four have been ruled „out“ and Rasul Douglas is listed as „questionable,“ but hasn’t practiced all week. Chandon Sullivan, Da’Vante Bausby, and Cre’Von LeBlanc will likely be the only corners available against the Giants—players who nobody has ever heard of. Things are so bad that the Eagles have had to use wide receivers at cornerback at practice. They’ll go up against a Giants offense that has scored 65 points in the past two games. For all of his prior struggles, Eli Manning has produced five touchdowns and zero interceptions in his past two games. Sunday looks like a great opportunity for him, Odell Beckham Jr., and Sterling Shepard. The Eagles, who have lost two in a row including a blowout in New Orleans, are favored by 5.5 points.

Browns at Bengals

The Bengals suffered even more injuries to their front seven during the week. They placed two more defensive tackles on injured reserve, prompting them to sign a practice squad defensive tackle from Dallas. Including this new signing, Cincy has three defensive tackles. Teams are aware of how banged up Cincy’s front seven is. In the past three weeks, they’re running with 55 percent frequency against them and the Bengals continue to allow five yards per carry, which ranks 30th. One of the team that the Bengals’ run defense barely ranks ahead of is Atlanta. In Cleveland’s last game before its bye week, upstart rookie Nick Chubb produced 176 yards on 20 carries against the Falcons. He’ll look to do the same against the Bengals. On offense, Bengals’ top wideout A.J. Green is listed as „questionable.“ The Browns are three-point underdogs at most sportsbooks, while at others sharp bettors have already knocked the spread down.

Patriots at Jets

Tom Brady is officially listed as „questionable“ for New England. He was limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday because of knee issues. He missed Friday’s practice altogether due to an illness. He hasn’t missed time since 2008 and it would be very surprising to see him miss this game. But be sure to monitor the situation. For New York, Sam Darnold has been ruled ‚out‘ again and veteran Josh McCown will get the start. 91% of wagers are on New England and you can still get the Jets as 10-point underdogs at GTBets. The Jets have covered five straight at home in the match-up.

Dolphins at Colts

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill did not receive any injury designation, so he will definitely return from a five-game injury absence. He led Miami to a 3-0 start until injuries at wide receiver and finally his own injury hampered the offense. With Brock Osweiler at quarterback, the Dolphins lost to Detroit, Houston, and Green Bay by double digits and slid past the Jets. Tannehill, though, could be rusty. Plus, wide receiver Jakeem Grant has been ruled ‚out‘ and, more importantly, wide receivers Danny Amendola and Davante Parker are listed as ‚questionable.‘ They’ll need all the help they can get to keep up with Indianapolis’ high-flying offense that has scored 29+ in its last four games, going 3-0-1 ATS.

Packers at Vikings

Green Bay’s defense looks to be in serious trouble. Defensive tackle Mike Daniels and linebacker Nick Perry have been ruled „out.“ Three defensive backs, including starting cornerback Kevin King and starting strong safety Kentrell Brice, are listed as „questionable.“ They did not practice on Thursday and, because the team doesn’t practice on Fridays, were estimated as limited participants in Friday’s hypothetical practice.
