Week 1 in the FCS

I was a little excited to think Merrimack could be favored according to some PR, which they shouldn't. I have to believe that Montes is going to be a pretty big addition in terms of capable QB play compared to what Kent has had. Was amazing 2023 at Fordham, Fordham probably had better players than Kent did that year. Merrimack doesn't look better to me than they were last year and could be worse. It is funny, I noted it in one of the posts above, Saint Francis RB McElroy transferred to Merrimack....so he is looking to go 2-0 in his career vs Kent!

Only way I would take Kent is if ML was like 150 or less....No value for me in this line as I figured it would be around 7.5 which is pretty close to where it opened. Hoping a few more of the games I am waiting on come on tonight...
 
I'm getting my wish of Idaho State as a low 30s dog (DK 30.5). Do I still like it? Hard to go against the momentum like that on a bad D team. UNLV could run for 350. Idaho State D will be improved this year, I feel good saying that, but we will measure it at the end of the year so this game it's going to be hard for them to get stops which is what people betting UNLV figure, their O is just going to do what other teams do vs ISU. That correlates with an Over, the total is going up at a slower pace than the Rebels side. ISU O is capable of breaking 20. Experienced QB who led FCS in passing O '23, a best OL Hawkins has ever had at ISU. The receivers are unknown, so I would feel better taking the pts if I knew they had experienced targets out there.

That one keeps rising as I saw 31.5 earlier and I remember it being as low as 25.5 before....I looked at the total a week or so ago and actually thought about a UNLV team total play, but don't wanna bank on them getting 50 although they should be good for it, but barring turnovers or busted plays, I think it will be something like 48-17 give or take so decided to pass. Based on your notes above, Idaho State TT over may be worth a look no?

Yes, I saw 19.5 somewhere. That line got as low as 24.5 at one point. Interesting how these lines sit and sit and then all of a sudden away they go ~

Oh yeah, that was an offshore somewhere. FD has 17.5 tt ISU
 
DK has alternate too. Checking the other books I haven't deposited into again this year. BetRivers has the week 0 FCS up. Nothing on MGM except this ISU/UNLV game with limited choices.

That is one thing, I mentioned in your thread on favorite MLs, shopping books on those is huge, a lot of various on price

DK turned me off soon after opening up shop here in NC as they started giving me ridiculous limits after cfb and cbb so got rid of the app on my phone…

We don’t get Betrivers here unfortunately and most of the offshores are off my list so I just stick with BM and FD as neither blink an eye when I win.

I might start looking at ML favs as you know I’m a big favs guy already in terms of spreads so thanks for the earlier heads up!

Having a variety of books for the MLs is nice though. Like right now, MB has Tarleton -752 and BetRivers is -1115. FD was just -750 within the last 30 minutes it went to -850. I know you have issue with MB too. I've played MLs at MGM also.

The domestic books don't have TT yet for FCS do they? My FD isn't showing it. MB was the first I saw with the FCS v FCS team totals
 
Nicholls TT Under 19.5 is appealing to me. Certainly respect duck's opinion on them and the 15.5, but I don't like them to score many. Think I will take the U19.5 on that for a little and see if it moves or an alt comes out

Mine neither…always good to compare as I have noticed sometimes different things are offered to different players as I remember doing a whole thing last year with MB, DK and others I think

LAst year, your FD showed Duquesne or Robert Morris, but mine in Ohio did not. I had to contact them and have them add it to my 'market'

I had my brother open me up a brand new DK account and I made about 15 bets on the app before cut down to $12 max bets

After FD suspended my account for a third time that was it for me and I wont use any of them now.

Sounds about par for the course with DK unfortunately. Haven’t had any issues with FD and BM so will keep riding both until the wheels fall off. Best of luck this season man!

Decided to take FD alt line with Wake 13.5 162 vs Kennessaw as more of a fade of the KSU rebuild than anything. Wake is in a similar situation, so expecting this one to come down to the Wake running game, but like the alt line better than the standard, as I am not convinced that Wake will put up a ton of points in this one.
 
Watching this anemic mistake laden PSU offense has me thinking about jumping on BYU 34.5 even with the fresh QB starting. Thoughts?

I didn't see the early part of the Tarl-PSU game, but I am all over BYU and I have no idea who their QB or any of their players are. Just because it is Portland State. The difference could be that BYU should do better than 14-0 1H. BYU -21 1H would seem possible as well, MyBookie has that.

Certainly was trash! Special teams also kicked on OOB and allowed a good 1H punt return by Nicholls. Impacts field position if nothing else. You forgot bad OL (which was supposed to be improved), but that plays into the other terrible aspects of their play.

Their D was pretty good, but Nicholls didn't have much to offer on O so the UIW D matched up well. Really surprised how poorly the UIW O was in every phase.

What there is of national FCS media is going to be trashing this team up and down the rest of the season, it is almost unrecoverable from a national respect standpoint.

Actually prefer the full game play because PSU looked worn out by mid third quarter and didn’t put up much fight on the 4th so BYU reserves might put up 21 or more on em in the second half

I came away extremely impressed with State(N).
I know a former player that told me Rybiak(sp) was like a savant. Weird he said. Which means no ra-ra. Promotion from DC I think?

The D absolutely, yes DC was promoted to HC. Not sure on the O and Hogan yet, it wasn't necessarily bad, but I wouldn't call it good either...one offensive TD, no TDs on their RZ trips. Were they like 1 of 9 or something 3rd down 1H? Hit that one big TD pass play to seal the game that accounted for 20% of their total yards. But, without question, their O was better than Incarnate Word which would be unfathomable to say if not having seen it and it is true. Solo is a guy to get the ball. First time OC, first time play caller on O, guy who basically has never played much QB...this game is going to give them confidence and for you or anyone following them that leads to optimism to see what they can do as they play together more. The D - lights out good, which was good before, that is nice because the Southland is officially wide open!

FD moved BYU from 34.5 to 37.5. It was still 34.5 during the 2H of the PSU game.

From yesterday: Tarleton down 1 pt, Nicholls down 1 total down 3, Louisville down 2, OkSt down 2, Kent down 1, Kansas St down 3, Tulsa up 1

Since this is an FCS thread you guys might know related to North Texas and their QBs, the good to great 2022 2023 Albany QB Reese Poffenbarger transferred from Albany following an amazing season in '23 to Miami Fl (to sit the bench) to now UNT where he apparently will be sitting the bench again behind a former walk-on. Sometimes the career decisions for these guys...I mean, sure, maybe he's making some money, and in today's world of football, I hope he is. But you go from a stud QB on a playoff FCS team to no meaningful snaps at FBS. Is that worth it? You only get so many years to play college football.

He can redshirt then move down to Stetson and be a for sure starter.
 
I just like to see guys like him make the most of their ability and time.
