FWIW, Staples was on with the Next Round this morning and he doesn't see Rising playing. Rising strikes me as someone who will play if he can possibly go but it is a non-conference game.

Two Utes?

Rising is a game time decision. Barnes was bad in the rose bowl but he's looked good at times as well. Word is that Nate Johnson may have passed him for the #2 recently. I think Utah's defense and running game with Jaquinden Johnson will both be better than last year. I still like Utah at home/night but it will be a close game.

Seems like gophers lost quite a bit, their qb who been running the offense for years! The stud running back, some guys on the oline. Fleck is a good coach but Ruhle is a master at turning programs around! they all pretty much struggled year 1, the huge difference this time around being the transfer portal so not sure it be so bad this time in year one? Huskers lost a whole bunch of games last year by less than a td! I think they will get better qb play out of the Gtech transfer Jeff sims, he had some pretty nice moments last season and isn’t lacking for experience and can make plays with his arm and legs! I gotta take Nebraska +7 on Thursday night!

Probably a dumb question but Do they play at altitude in Utah?

Wow, guess it was a huge mistake not playing Hawaii +7 last week, after the nice showing at Vandy line down all the way to +3.5! Ugh. Not sure I know enough about Stanford to take Hawaii at this small a number? Guess it hard ti say how improved Chang has that Hawaii air raid offense also, was it them improving or Vandy being bad? Probably a bit of both? I will be curious how much they jack up Hawaii qb Schager passing yards? He smashed the 220.5 they had him listed for game 1 and I would expect him to continue putting up pretty good numbers. Guys were running wide open all over the field against Vandy, again I dunno if that a massive improvement in year 2 of Chang system or terrible defense by Vandy? Lol.

So trees brought in a guy to coach the team who known for offense, the d was awful last year and was gutted this offseason by the transfer portal! I’ll be keeping a real close eye on where they come out with Schager passing yards prop!

i'm oppo of you on this one

What you like bout laying it with gophers? Huskers were masters at keeping games close and losing heartbreakers last year! I think they improved instantly wit Ruhle as coach and Simms taking over at qb. I like Fleck also, he a good coach but seems they lost quite a bit in the backfield with the qb and that bad ass running back now gone. I’d love to hear your thoughts, respect your opinion.

I know Ruhle’s prior rebuilds year one was really bad but think he has a few things going for him this time. 1st I don’t think corn in as bad of shape as some his previous stops, 2nd the transfer portal makes it easier to rebuild teams faster!! Just the addition of Simms at qb I think make them better!!

Just noticed the total is crazy low in the huskers/gophers game! 43.5?!?! Instantly makes the +7.5 more appealing to me.

I think gophers are still going to be pretty solid despite losing Morgan and Ibrahim, expecting them to open up the offense a bit more compared to years past. Really like their weapons and expect the OL to still be good despite the turnover there- coaching track record there. Not anticipating a huge dropoff from Morgan at QB, think this greek kid got some valuable experience last year and has the tools to be much improved. MN defense should be solid again, kept their DC who is v underrated. I like the Ruhle hire but i think it's gonna take some time for them to turn it around. Just have a bit more confidence in backing MN here personally but would probably pass if the line were over 7

Fair enough, and I tend to agree the oline will be just fine, fleck track record there says as much. Clearly they expecting solid d on both sides w that 43.5 total!! Such a low total and with Simms coming over to play qb I just think he can make enough plays to keep it interesting! Typically I’d agree with Ruhle taking some time, his previous stops year 1 was pretty awful. I don’t think he walking into quite the shit show here tho and I really think Simms be a massive upgrade right out the gates.,DK has +7.5 right now, like that quite a bit!!

glad to see you back talking football!! I need this shit, little distraction from the awful medical shit going on with the wife !!!!!

Rhule usually dog shit year 1.. road game, nationally televised- Minny QB pretty experienced and decent and got a good RB transfer from West MI.. Whole new system for Neb on both sides of the ball- will prob be a play on team alter in the year- but fading early

Just took over 60 since the totals movers tend to release on Tuesdays. I'll take my chances that they aren't going to be on under, very curious to see Stanford's offense under the new coach.

Troy Taylor seems to be a good offensive coach but I don't know if the Trees have the personnel to run his offense. He was underwhelming his one year as Utah's OC.

Hoping Hawaii's defense makes them look good more than anything

Also be curious to see how the 4 P12 teams that got left out perform in general. Letdowns or playing with a chip on their shoulders?

I know his 1st year at his other stops been bad but don’t think huskers were left as awful as the other programs he took over, plus the landscape is so different now, back when he took those other jobs you couldn’t just bring in all these transfers like now. Huskers played in so so many close games last year, with the stuff gophers having to replace, with Ruhle bringing Simms to play qb who can run around and make plays, I just don’t see this as that big a mismatch. I been wrong before tho.

You couldn’t bring in transfers then, but the flip side of that coin is that no one transferred out. How many guys did Nebraska lose?

Fair point, good question, I’m not sure.

Think I read they brought in something like 14 but quick google didnt tell me how many left.

What you think bout this total? I feel like 43 is saying they expect the same ol same ol out of the gophers but Im kinda with you on them opening things up more. Fleck plays to his strengths and it sounds like the wr corp could be the strength of gophers offense. If they in fact go with a more pass heavy attack 43 could be crazy low! I strongly believe Simms will make some plays for huskers, he could very well make a play that leads to points for minny also! I guess my biggest concern it sounds like huskers thin at wr. They should be able to run block, have some solid backs, and a qb like Simms is always gonna help open up running lanes, the problem is they gonna need wrs to make some plays, I imagine gophers d won’t be easy to just run on without being threatened on the outside.

Really think if we believe gophers offense isn’t gonna look like last few seasons and they are in fact gonna open it up and throw more 43 to damn low! I’m bullish that Simms will be able to create some offense, along with the fact if huskers down he could certainly hand gophers 7 on a mistake. More I’ve looked at this game more im starting to lean over 43.

I would lean over as well, doesn't take much to get there!

Assuming rising is 100% out?

Everyone I’ve heard I like listening to basically been saying ppl were nuts if they really thought he was gonna play this game, 8 months removed from whatever he ripped up in his knee. I think any talk bout him playing was someone blowing smoke. Line was above 7 when ppl thought it was possible, there no way -4.5 be out there if they thought any chance he was playing.

Looking at UCF boxes from last year when they blew teams out they kept on the throttle in the 2h.

28-3 / 56-10
16-14 / 40-14
35-13 / 70-13

Has Kent done anything promising last couple of months to suggest they move the chains here a few times here and there?

Yes almost everyone bailed on the program. They should be epic bad. Just wondering how the summer has gone since then.
They are starting the Purdue transfer at QB who hasn't seen much college action, backfield is two averageish RBs from last year and the line is anchored by a true frosh at center (yikes). I do think we'll see a ground and pound approach so not the fast tempo that we saw under Lewis. I can't really reccommend anything relating to Kent until we see them on the field.

I see Schager passing yards at 265.5 -114

@survive&advance saw a 280.5 at one point, I’m assuming the forecast for fairly strong winds woulda brought in some under money, plus the massive jump might have some ppl thinking 280 was overreaction. I’m not gonna worry much about it until I can get some kind of confirmation on whether wind could be a factor.

Yeah that doesn’t sound to me like a team capable of tossing some points up to get a moose like SJST was last week.

yeah it's 265.5 on FD now, same place i saw the 280.5. i ended up tailing our guy franchise on mcbride 60.5 and ashlock 57.5 overs. think it's a good alternative to Schager

That game not till 2marro right? I’m bout done putting tonight together but I don’t wanna do anything w Hawaii till we see if weather a factor. Who knows, I don’t trust our weathermen to know what happening in real time! Plus a 20+ mph wind could be a problem or could be nothing depending on direction in relation to field. Or maybe numbers will all movie and make the choice for me, lol.

One the games tonight I wanted to go wr but having a hard time determining which will get the targets so leaning qb instead. Lol. I do have one wr I’m def playing tonight, there another I would like to but having a hell of a time figuring out if he gonna get the snaps! Worst part is I don’t think DK knows either or they only willing to put one of the 2 possibilities out! That makes me nervous, I’m pretty sure I recall one last year where they only gave me the one rb option and turned out he barely played while they didn’t list the dude who got all the run. I’d kill to be on ncst slot receiver tonight, if it Rooks the number is short and he should crash it. Problem is I’ve read a lot bout a freshman they really like in slot also, DK don’t have a number for him. I’ll be so annoyed I play Rooks and it ends up being Concepcion or gray getting most the work!! If Rooks is the slot guy he should smash his 33.5 number! Ncst bringing over that Uva offense along with their qb to run it, they love throwing to the slot guy!!

it sounds like it'll be Concepcion but not super confident

Me either and then don’t even have q number for him. I’ve read things that lead me to believe rooks get a shot also:, this seems like a game maybe they both get work and his number so low considering how much this offense likes to work the slot I decided to take a little flier on him. They outta let him get some time even if the freshman turns out better. Give this kid a night!!

I was pretty sure Gtech+7.5 would def make my card but I didn’t expect to read that king won the qb job. I guess maybe if he won the job he worthy of playing but I liked the other kids ability to push the ball down the field. King was a 4 star recruit, it could be more the garbage A&M offense that made me have a bad impression of him? At any rate I don’t think ville is in any better shape right now than Gtech is, jackets might actually be a tad ahead since their coach took over in middle of last season and got them playing pretty decent ball!!
