Basically his season long slump can be attributed at least on paper to his sudden struggles at Yankee Stadium and trouble hitting at night . Which is something he exceled at his entire career .....kinda of odd but shit happens when you a 12 ,13 year vet then cant be explained ...

Only 41 games left for NYY after today and this is by far his worst career year at this point . Really his worst season since his 2nd full one which tends to often being a year of adjustments especially for players who succeed as rookies.Jeter has been the model of consistency ....

13 seasons including 2008 and in 9 he hit 300 or better with 3 seasons in the 290s. Pretty damn impressive . I always say that Jeter is overrated because of his NY status level but he is a real good baseball player. Which gets overlooked because of the Yankee spending and probably his good looks and dating life .

Anyway with so many injuries in 2008 his season is getting lost or should I say his poor season . Still time to get it up to his standards but really another issue missed by NY media . One thing I notice about Jeter is he swings to much this year and doesnt work counts nearly as much( has Cano disease..lol) . His walks show it at only 38 but would guess his pitch per atbat is down as is a rise in him swinging at 1st pitches. Basic loss of plate discipline.

Not only a 40 pt drop in avg from last year and even 60 points from 2 years ago but 30 + pt drop in career avg , 40 point in OBP , 60 point in SLG which leads to a 100 pt drop in OPS....

Just found it interesting ...:shake:

took Yankees ML and Minni TT over 4.5

For some reason they didnt move the TT lines when the total did, thought i'd take advantage...no way Rasner escapes unscathed here.

Always a red flag imo when they do shit like this TB to be cautious . Same happened on the 1st half total stayed put at 5 even though total ran up vig wise to somewhere near 9over -130 just a 5 cent vig move in the 1st half...

Which is why I was skeptical about those steam moves on Monday . You had 3 totals bumped up a run ....

Boston 1st H stayed at 4.5 only -115 over with a 9.5 total ....

I actually played 1st half UND @ Minny and game over but doubt it works out that way ...

:shake:

There Goes Slowely No Run In 1st All Year

No Jeter May Be A Blessing He Has Been Shiiitt Or Slumping A Lot This Yr.

Offense isnt much of a concern looking at the lineup today but timely hitting sure is (as always)....As Tuck said awhile back didnt Xavier Nady understand he wasnt supposed to get clutch hits here ...lol! If you look closley most of what NY has done positive since the Pitt trade has centered around Nady doing something in the clutch and yesterdays 2 run Hr after Arods was definetly huge as it takes some pressure of NYY and Ramire with a 3 run cushion as opposed to 1 run....

Crazy when you take Jeter away you still have what I would see as 7 All Star type hitters in :

Damon , Abreu , ARod , Giambi , Nady , Cano , Pudge ..not that they are All Stars but certainly thats 7 pretty ridiculous quality bats ...

Slow start is concerning ...:shake:

That was inevitable ...error creates a jam ...hot hitter in D. Young or one with momentum after the Hr vs Mo and we are down 3-1...dont like that one bit. Real bad IMO...

Yanks look done be suprised if they won this . Just 1 hit after the consecutive 1st inning hits ....they wont get to Nathan and Breslow or Reyes are probably see some action and they are the ones who concern me (solid LHs) . Looking like a twins-und cash here....hope I am wrong but dont think so

fuckin twins score one run on bases loaded... Now im going to be middled by the books with my TT O4.5 and Yanks ML... thats just fuckin great.. bullshit.

SO these games look good based on Umps

BAl-Cle under 9.5.
Tex/Bos over 10.5
Chi/Atl game 2 under 7.5
Mets/Wash over 8
St lou/Flo under 8.5
Hou/Sf under 9
Kc/Chi sox over 9
La/PHl over 8

anybody disagree with any of these

Yanks stunk . Didnt really watch so cant comment but when they were hanging to that 1-0 lead and Rasner doing well escapwhen he allowed MOB early I knew eventually Twins would have to get a clutch hit. Sure enough walk , error and 1 out HR ....

Didnt like the line moving close to -130 earlier thought it was a little odd. Should have cut my size down . Rasner pitched well I thought probably should have let him pitch the 6th IMO not Giese but I understand Girardi was trying to split the game in half probably. Problem is you cant keep yo-yo'in guys in out of the rotation and flipping them from long reliever to starter and back. Its just not as simply with pitchers . Perfect point is Giese when he starts was pitching out of the stretch with no one on. So had feeling that would backfire and Yanks pen did a good job. Like I said this is a good bunch just have some patience and give them a chance . Plus they are young and still have to learn how to bare down when everything is going wrong. There seems to be alot of real ugly innings of the Yankee pen but stastical its very good ....

Just a crap game and effort

Reds @ Pitt :

Looks like I could be going back to the well on this series . Probably think Pitt looks good here but ever since I saw the opening number it just didnt seem right . Pitt -140 looked cheap with Fogg opposing .

Then I started looking at the game and truthfully possibly reasons to play Cincy since i have them winning this series IMO.

Anyway some cautions for liking Maholm and Pitt were -
-The line appearing cheap and getting bet up fairly strong

-Maholm on normal rest after a 116 pitch effort . Usually good news every 5 days for him but think the high pitch count could be an issue. Not much back to data to look at when he starts getting to 110 , 115 and above...just 3rd time in 2008. When it has happened usually a solid game at home followed by a road start where he does droppoff statisicallyso hard to weigh IMO. Threw 121 and was solid not great @ STL on 6 days , allowing 1 rin and 9hits in 6.1 which Pitt won 14-4 . Threw 118 then went to Wrigley and facing a team who hits LH well and pounds Pirate pitching allowed 8h and 5 runs in 6 inn. Back in 2006 he topped 115 twice and again followed with road starts which were not good. Something like 6inn 9h 6r and 3inn 7h 5 r 4bbs. He had 3 other starts in the 110-114 range and was medicore twice and good in the 110 pitch effort ...

-Maholm allows RHBs to hit 281 and has been lights out vs LH . With the trades Cincy will be alot less LH especially with Votto out . Assume Andy Phillips or Valentin (SWH) at first , Hannigan to catch , Cabrera in the OF somewhere and not sure of Hairstons status. Hairston's seem ready to play ( on 8-08 said if he was a 1st baseman he would be out there but CF needs there legs) and is key to Cincys success as 28-18 when he plays ...which would give them basically all RHBs outside of Bruce . Phillips 10-26 career with 3 Hrs and Encarnacion is 12-27 with 6 rbi .

-Fogg is unpredicatble and really medicore . His away starts since his recall were good and last year his ERA away was 4.20 . Also his Day splits are terrible and the Night ones while maybe medicore at best look much better . He was shelled at home twice vs Pitt but very good @ PNC last year .

-Pitt last vs RHP is hitting 211 and granted some quality RHPs but outside of 3 1st inn runs vs Haren they did next to nothing in this stretch. Volzquez , Pedro , Myers , Blanton , Webb talking 4 runs off these guys ...Blanton 1hit in 7 inn ...

-LaRoche is supposed to be back at 1st base which is a plus though for Pitt but at the expense of its hottest hitter unless they get Mientky in the OF as even 3b is now crowded...

-Pitt still lacks a closer . Grabow is probably the best option but he being LH could be a plus for Cincy as well.

-Probably one of the more important reasons is maholm has been very good at home but favored in just 5 of 11 starts . Which only once at -130 v Houston and another about -150 vs Wash which Pitt lost. Maholm is 4-1 as a fav though losing the highest priced game but only winning the others all by 1 run ! His oppoisng SP Backe and redding are not all that different or better then Josh Fogg.

- Run Support for maholm: HUGE ISSUE.
4.04 all season
3.91 at home
1.33 L3 games on a team I just said was struggling offensively especially RHSP
While Fogg has revieved 6,6,3 12 runs in his 4 starts winning 2 all going over

-Trends ?
Maholm 5-16 L21 starts when his opponent scored 5 or more runs the previous game .
Maholm has lead Pitt to a 1-10 mark L11 WED starts for him ( Tuck Rule !!)
Maholmis also just 3-8 L11 vs teams with losing records which makes sense since he did well vs good teams as a home dog so far ...

- Since the deals Pitt is something like 4-1 as Pkem and 0-1 as a fav being a dog in the other games so again biggest line .....

- Reds are 3-14 L17 and 10-20 L30 but Pitt is just two games better at 12-18L30 . In the past 30 games Reds are 5-6 vs LHSP with the pen blwoing 2 wins vs Johan and Wolf at home . They lost recently vs Wandy when harang was shelled early 8-0 defecit but had won @ Housto vs Wandy . They lost 3-2 @ Milw vs CC . They had another loss @ Wash with Perez when Bailey struggled early putting them down quickly . Also lost 5-1 vs DelaRosa . laregly competitve vs opposing LHSP though and most times manage dto score at least 5 runs in those games. Only the COL , CC start amd @ Wash were they held in check on offense and 4 runs in the Harang start...7 of 11 with 5 + runs and 10-11 all season on the road vs LHSP

Waiting on lineups . Seems like a good game for offense IMO.....So looking at Reds +1.5 RL , ML and over 9

I think this prop is fucking money .. doubt this goes to 30+

SN, i dont know about backing the Reds today. Pitt is nothing good themselves, but I think they looked down on them and took the Reds lightly yesterday with the half AAA line up they had. They are a team that is trying to close the season strong with a lot of young guys. I think they just may fold the Reds today with Maholm at home...no pun intended... Your stats are very relevant here, but the team mentality for them has got to be pretty shitty...losing against against a Cinci team with no dunn, girffey, or even votto. I'd feel humiliated. GL, i have a small parlay in PITT +2.5, so ill root for a 1 run Reds win for ya

Played Ariz/Col over 9.5 and also like Ariz TT over 4.5 -15. Zona has faced Francis 3 times this year and lit him up for 20 er in 16 ip (11.25 era) and 2.25 whip. Zona decent on the road vs. LH's, 14-10 scoring 4.42 rpg. Colorado has been very good vs. LH's at home 14-7, 6.9 rpg and hitting .310. Davis always works with a lot of runners on base so I think Colorado should be able to score some runs tonight.

Understandable. Just see these teams as equal . The whole travel scenario probably hits them today the most IMO as I had games 1 and 2 marked as the ones which they hsould be flat in . Cant see though who on Pitt is humilated as they have no stars . Just betting on what I see an inflated price as I dont believe Pitt has the type edge that leads to a win 65% of the time...Season long issues get Maholm runs and vested more on the +1.5 line ....

A stretch by me for sure ....

Like it well Timmy. Think those 3 starts could be irrelevant in some ways as DBacks started the season smoking LHs and have cooled considerable. New addition Dunn is LH as well . The way Davis pitched last two times out and seeing COL track record vs LH should I agree bring runs. I guess my disagreement is cause I like COL here ...GL

SN - I don't disagree on Colorado side, just like to see them score more than 5 runs. I couldn't pass up the 4.5 on Zona with Francis tossing tonight. :shake:

thanks for the lester stats/trends BC... was enoiugh to get me on boston -1.5 and small bet on -2.5 as well.... and have a parlay from earlier with boston ML/brazil mL (winners easily)

well that and mendozas gas can road struggles.
and sox already shillacked him once this year

good stuff

my LORD

FUCK FENWAY. someone please tell me any other park that wouldnt be a HR in

double off the tip-top of the wall in left center, shoulda been a jack

bases juiced now

and if the sox dont get anyhting here, welll BC its your fault:cheers:

wow...Houston opened at -139 and is up as high as -180...daaamn. Kind of liking SF...ugh lol.

SF on the road against LHP always struggles immensley. like they dont hit it at all

may take houston RL for some value but at +115 not too much there

Taking nothing for granted, Cap, but it does look very good given Lester isn't likely to fall apart like Cink did yesterday when he was given a decent lead.

And, as an aside, my advice is to steer clear of interacting with certain posters. Some peoples patience isn't going to last much longer. Theres folks here from the other site who I had problems with over there, and I've never once engaged them here, it's not a difficult task to manage.

:shake:

i thought that was old news BC, and i have adjusted accordingly.

the latter stuff/bashing has not been from me. although a lot of the prior stuff was. but i have stopped.

if you feel different you can PM me :shake:

It's simply in your best interests to not engage, full stop, certain posters. Put them on ignore if you have to. Take it from me, this is something you want to do. There's plenty of people on this site that make for good interaction. You can afford to avoid the few which might lead you to have no interactive abilities with anyone. As I said, I do so myself, otherwise I'd rapidly find myself in the same position.
