Played me some cubbies ML - one thing I don't like is that STL hitters have had some success against him, however with Reyburn behind the dish, for his career, Lester is 3-0, 0.00 ERA, 0.63 WHIP

Seattle game was very strange. They had a 2 run lead bottom of the eighth. Paxton was on 91 pitches. They took him out and put in a reliever who had pitched 12 innings and given up 6 runs. Surprisingly the opposition tied it up and then in the bottom of the 9th put in another terrible pitcher and then the game was over.

that was brutal.

At this point in the year a manager is not going to decide who he puts in based on the 12 innings hes thrown this year. Farquhar was great last season, and that certainly is more important to a manager then such a tiny sample size of this season. I would have let Paxton pitch the eighth but I don't think the move was unjustifiable. You don't want young pictures racking up 100 pitchout outings in April.

I did not have anything on this game but my point is I do think this form sometimes relies on small sample sizes way too much. To me it means nothing if the pitcher was bad in 19 career innings at the ballpark, or if a batter is 2-17 in his career off a pitcher. Sample sizes are way too small to draw real conclusions.

He pitched 71 innings last year, I think for a reliever of his nature it's quite significant...that's 17% of his workload last year..

That was not the case for him I was giving a generic example. I don't know how that picture has fared in the ballpark.

Wait never mind I read your reply wrong... Ignore my last post...

But to actually reply, there is no situation where 12 innings of sample data is enough to make any decision, or for me to consider making or changing a wager. That's why relievers are so weird. One year a guy will have a 5.65 ERA & next year hes at 2.32. The difference is really usually just some luck and some variance

When its more convenient I will look at their pen and consider the options. Last night I went to a Mariner blog and the posters were mostly cursing the manager which does not make me optimistic. I might try Lester. He is high profile enough to possibly win.

usually i can figure out your parables, but not this one? I lean TEX and think they'll eventually finish higher in the standings than HOU does based on their capable lineup versus HOU's not. Feliz got the night off yesterday, HOU has been flopping like a fish this series and deserves to get sweep

Sabathia this year on 4 days rest
12 innings 8.25 ERA
Over time a very good day for Toronto
Last game I think Sabathia was on 5 with a friendly ump. Not sure if there is a true ump pitcher situation with these 2 and the ump.

agree with the BC stats, but if the good Kennedy shows up I doubt Heston can beat him even if SF just knows how to win in that park

Paxton and the entire rotation have been awful this year so getting 7 innings out of him only allowing 2 was more than enough for me holding a Seattle to win the AL West ticket. Farquhar has had some tough luck, but is their 8th inning guy right now and two seeing-eye singles beat him last night. The other options are Medina who got sent to AAA and then unproven youth, which ended up taking the loss in the 9th as Rodney has been working a ton and there's no reason to use him without a lead there. I don't hate Lloyd just yet...

Morales is on his second year. So far
3-0 home teams this season
Last year 20-8 over
This year 2-1 over

Even with this I do not like this game over. So far this season SF is 0-4 under in last game of a home stand.

played SD +129, Posey sitting but I assume he will PH. Norris sitting so SF can't steal everytime they get on base

Starting to look like WS today but need to look more.
Will be on WS. RL? Want to get in more trends but this sets up very badly for Detroit

I always see good Ian comments? This guy is one of the worst pitchers in the league. Win or lose please don't respect this bum enough to say "I doubt he can out pitch him". Anyone could including the majority of AA pitchers. Not saying he will lose every start but this guy is hot garbage aka whack sauce.

Hard to believe Tribe's in the middle. Sure seems like they don't ever hit lefties.

Ian has some upside but about 72 innings at the site is Not good when SF has their pride and joy going

Hard to believe Tribe's in the middle. Sure seems like they don't ever hit lefties.

They're 2-9 SU versus left-handed starters this season, but it might be more a result of allowing an average of 5.2 runs per game in those 11 games. They've managed to generate 29 runs in 59.2 innings off of Dallas Keuchel, Daniel Norris, Danny Duffy, David Price, Jason Vargas (2x), John Danks (2x), Jose Quintana, Kyle Lobstein (2x), and Mark Buehrle. Keep in mind this isn't accounting for any runs versus left-handed relievers..

If the Tribe KO's a starter early, the first reliever is always, always a LHP.

Tuff card. Tiny bet on sf tt under 3.5 -105. Sf lineup looks ugly.

Based on the Days you would like Detroit today not WS. But WS lost 5 in a row and Sale got slapped around.
With Reynolds he has a 2.45 ERA based on 22 innings. His bounce back seems here. Simon in 3 road games this year has been hit hard twice. He is young and i expect him to bounce back as well but not as fast. WS was not really touched here. Covers shows 2.70 bull pen for WS and 2.95 for Detroit. These are projections. True or not true. WS lost all 5 road games ending in a 13-3 loss. Do not expect them to lose this game.
